The Animal Park is gone, but the town bought the property and through a community effort and cleared brush, planted grass and bushes and flowers and made it a most beutiful free park to bring your children, dogs and families for picnics, and games. There is no swimming, but a little fishing. Bikes are allowed. Just old fashion fun. We walked the blue trail and I did 2-1/2 to 3 miles. I will get over 12,000 steps in today.
I'm new here but as soon as I read Benson's Animal Farm, I had to comment! I used to go there as a little girl! I am in NH...where are you from? I had no idea they had made a park out of the property. That's cool!

Anyways, over the past year, I have become addicted to obstacle courses like Tough Mudder and the Spartan. I completed TM in August (10.2 miles with 15+/- obstacles). On Thurs last week I found out that I am doing the Spartan Beast (another 10+ miles with obstacles) But I haven't been training! Now I have less than two weeks to prepare so I will need to be doing something every day!

Today I did a short walk at lunch and I'm going to do a bootcamp class...tomorrow I will run a few miles at lunch and do hot yoga after work...Friday, bootcamp in the AM and a hike after work...Sat ??? We shall see what the day has in store!

I like the idea of checking in here daily...I hope we can all motivate each other!

I'm in Barnstead...near Alton. Nice to meet you!

I didn't get to the gym in time for class yesterday...then when I got home, it was so hot and miserable, I couldn't even think about a run! But I am prepared for today's run at lunch and hot yoga after work!

I hope everyone has a great day!

CJMO , you asked if I had a trainer.. I did last year it was the kickboxing instructor that helped me.. now I am at a much bigger Gym with spinning, Zumba, GTS (total gym), water aerobics, pilates, yoga, tons of aerobic and abs classes.. the place is amazing. I think I will get a personal trainer to help me..
I am a size 14 and I want to be a size 12 ...does not sound like a lot but I am never been tiny...I think I am on the right track, and I enjoy all the gym has to offer.
I am in a 5K in October at the facility..I am walking FAST..

Just a note, I did try a tracker from Target (it was not a fitbit).. they set it up for me, I walked home and the damn thing said I walked 1/2 a mile I had walked 2 miles... I brought it back... usually I measure the miles in the car, and I know how long it takes to walk a mile at my pace...

Sorry I rambled on and On.

Have a great day,

Lynn

Well I didn't get to go swimming... hubby changed his mind! It was his idea a couple of weeks ago.

have not been able to go walking due to back. Having the hardest time healing... I guess picking up a 24 pound baby off the floor several times a day will keep a muscle strain aggravated.

Sorry you didn't like the fitbit Deb.

I got in my 10000 steps yesterday.

Mary I'm glad the headache is gone. But you said the boss is back. Same thing

Mrskuby. How was hot yoga. Sounds like you are flexible in your plans.

Deb is RX weight training? I can't remember. did the scale go back in the bad boy closet.

Karen I can see you bouncing ! Good thing you live in a dome. You can jump high!

Lynn sounds like a nice gym. You're going to walk the 5 k? I could probably do that. I thought you had to run. Did your personal trainer help? I have wondered if they are worth the money. I always run into pain problems when I do it on my own.

Lizzy you should have strong have strong arms and shoulders.

Cheryl... I have been in a few 5k's.. they are 3.1 miles... I usually walk as fast as I can.. I did Boot Camp 5 years ago at 60.... it was very tough, the girls in my group were 22 and 26... I learned a lot...I want a trainer so I can learn more about the weight training and what is best for me...

Deb... thanks for the information about the Lemons and Limes... I love them, and always have them in the refrigerator...

took today off and did a lot around the condo...

Have a great week-end everyone..

I hate scales, too. It's a love/hate relationship, really....I have two and weigh on both of them each morning to avoid glitches, how obsessive is that? One weighs in at 1.7 lbs less than the other and is definitely my favorite one.

10,000+ steps and 37 very active minutes for me today.

10000+ steps and 35 vam you got 2 minutes on me Jazz.

I have a love / hate relationship with my scale. It keeps me accountable and sometimes I really don't like that!

Mrs Kuby, I have passed through Barnsted on my way to Wolfeboro or Ossipee. We like traveling the country roads. It is probably 1-1/2 hrs from Hudson. Check out the Benson's facebook page. The have a beaitifully touching 9/11 memorial.

Yesterday, I managed 12,500 steps. A couple miles at the hospital in Lebanon NH where we drove to as it is a huge place and then hiked at the Benson's park when we got home. DH got the green light to return to work on Monday. He has been out 3 months after surgery in June.
