My goodness, I actually like walking

I look forward to getting up and moving! This is so not like my previous self who liked sitting on the couch, reading books, and watching TV. Now, because of the daily steps goal I have, I rarely have time to sit on the couch.

Deb, you'll probably leave me in the dust with your steppin'

On their website, you have the option to enter other activities, too, of which I know you do many. I don't know if the Fitbit is designed to accurately count steps when you run, but I know you can enter running there and get credit for it.

Oh..... and it surely counts stair climbing on its own and you can get stair badges.

With the very active minutes, is that when you are getting your heart rate up to a certain level? Does it have a heart rate counter on it?

The item I use is a watch. I can measure my steps, miles, cal burned and take my pulse beside telling time. Example, when I was hiking the hills yesterday, going up hill, my heart rate was up to 129 which is the most I would want it. It doesn't upload into the computer. I just keep track in my Ipad where I write my food down for the day.

I think I looked at the fitbit but couldn't figure out which one to get. And the wacth works for me.

Good Morning!!!
Fitbit for Deb!!!!

My back is almost back to normal. Got one walk in Saturday. Yesterday we got our new bed put in and just bending and putting the sheets on was too much. So no walk last night. Football was on anyway! GO PACK!!!

Will go walking in the mall today due to temps up in the high 90's again....they keep saying it's going to rain and it never does. Just want it to cool off a little.

Made it to the gym before work this morning. Got to get a battery for my pedormeter but want to go get a new one. I've been walking on the treadmill for half hour and then 2 walks around the lake everyday, as long is it's not raining.

Deb wtg on your new pink fitbit. I bet you'll really be surprise at how much you walk all day.

Lizzy glad your back is much better.Yikes it reallly hot there. I mall walk in the winter, they have the floor marked off for walkers and the open before the stores do.

Mary yours sounds similar to the one I have. I also journal all me food.

Eliza when the fitbit records very active, are your walking faster or running to make it show very active.

Yes we are. good going Lynn. You outshine me.

Misty you are going to pedometer too?

Deb getting a pink Fitbit you will rack up the steps! No problem. I'm so glad you're motivated again.

Lizzy did you have a good mall walk? We are in the 90's too.

Jazz between DH and the kitties I didn't stand a chance of staying in bed today. DH alarm went off at 5 and after that it was downhill. He's out of town for several days so there's tomorrow.

Mary I used a cheapy pedometer from WM. for years. The active minutes are more when you have continuous motion.

Karen how you doing? Meditation class started yet?

Misty, when the Fitbit records very active, it's sustained high level activity over a period of time. For me it's fast walking, like a certain number of steps per minute. I don't jog, run, or do anything high intensity, just fast walking.

Had a great workout at the gym today, going to continue with the gym as well as walking. Got my batteries for my pedometer today so will start using it tomorrow, can't wait to see how much I really walk in steps.

Lizza tks I think I will eventually get a fitbit. But going to use my old one to start. Glad to hear I don't have to run for very active walking to show.

Lynn sounds like you go to the gym too. I try to make in during the week, but don't go on the weekends. I do alot of walking too but no in the snow season.

Lizzy swimming is also great exercise, I wish I could do it all year.

Deb did you order your fitbit yet.
