New guy

Hello everyone! Today I joined this site and got out and jogged for the first time in years (usually I am a gym rat, but have been a slacker recently). Today is the day that I want to begin lose this middle age gut and that means CUT OUT CARBS. It's worked fantastically in the past for me so why not try again? It's great to find this site today and maybe find a support group.

Forgive me while I figure out how to post and learn the proper etiquette for posting.

If your goal is to lose 24 lbs you should be able to do that in 3 months or less. Be careful on the jogging. Every 10 extra pounds you carry equals 50-60 extra lbs of force on each leg for each step! You don't want to get injured and inhibit your ability to exercise.

Pump some iron!

Don't forget...lifting weights will kick your metabolism into higher gear and as you build more you'll burn more calories just holding the couch down. You don't have to live there, just lift heavy.
