I guess I better keep an eye on my battery. Thanks gals. I too would be lost without it. It really motivates me.

Good going Mary, Eliza, Kismet

Thanks for the info Eliza. I am at the lake with just my phone so I will check when I get home. Bigger screen.

Mary what kind of dog do you have ? I have a Pekingese.

Cheryl is relaxing at the lake.....

I have a schnoodle - a shnauzer-poodle mix who is a rescue. She is a bit grumpy sometimes. An angel at home, but a barking terror to other humans and animals. Don't walk her because she barks at anyone and everyone she sees. Sometimes she barks so hard, she kicks first one hind leg, then the other. It's quite the sight.

I can see that! LD gets so worked up he lifts his whole body off the floor when he barks. He is very protective. And tries to be Alpha dog with other dogs.

Welcome, Star! A new buddy! Looking forward to having you as part of our "stepping" community.

Montana has some beautiful country that would be so great for walking.

My favorite time of year to walk is when it's a bit chilly! There are no bugs bothering me then LOL

I git my 10,000 steps in today. Had a meeting at work from 5 to 7 tonight so if I hadn't gone out at lunch and on breaks, I never would have made it.

Eliza good job. Some days you just need a break be specially when you haven't felt well.

Kismet you're a machine!

starrhae. I took yesterday off and almost missed your post. What pedometer will you be using?

Paula is it hard getting going again after vaca?

Mary good going!

Still in the 90's here. No jackets needed.

I had no idea which one to buy so I just got a simple one on amazon shipped to me!! Says it does steps ,distance and calories for 7 days!! The reviews seemed okay!! Thought I would put the app on my iPhone but sounds like people have trouble with those! What do all of you use???

Starrhae I used a simple one for years. Gotta say I love my Fitbit tho. I always thought they were overpriced but now I love it. I started with the cheapest one. It does all I need.

Kismett only 12000 I work to get my 10000. Good going.

Yesterday I dot 11,000 steps in in spite of the cloudy, rainy day. The mist felt good when Imwas walking at lunch.

You guys are good for me. I feel like I am part of a club that is committed to walking. Neat!

Yesterday, over 16,000. The weather was nice.
Hot and humid all today. Forced myself to go out after dinner. Got around 12,500.

I got 11,500 steps today. Hot and humid for us in NH to 91, summer's last hurrah! But I broke it down into 3 sessions and it became doable.

Same for me. I love my FitBit. Also have the cheapest kind. My goal is to walk a certain number of steps per day, and it's ideal for that. I also enjoy that it records the data from each day's activity for me, so I don't have to keep a separate journal.

Mary, I feel the same. I rely on this group of committed walkers to stay accountable and motivated. It's weird how something as simple as walking can be such an effective way to become fit and healthier.

10,000+ steps and 50 very active minutes for me today.

I felt so tired the two previous days, I didn't reach 10K. I don't know if it was because I was dehydrated, or the weather was changing, or what. Plus, I've started waking up at 3:20ish am and can't get back to sleep.

In the 8K in Monday, and in the 6K on Tuesday. Feeling much better today so I could reach my goal.

Eliza I'm glad you're feeling better. I've been fighting the wake sleep thing for quite a while. It bites.

Mary good going. I try to break my up. Eliza posted a study at the top of this thread that shows it is better to do it thru out the day and not all at once.

Kismet. Wow. Hot here too but thankfully our humidity has been down we have a cool breeze.
