Way to go, Atkins Fan!

You are so right! We just need to set our minds to it and just.do.it.....I myself started on July 5th from being completely sedentary and sitting around in front of TV/computer/book to moving and consistently walking between 2-5 miles per day for the last 18 or so days. My body remembered the long-forgotten memory of muscle movement and responded quickly by building up new muscle fibers and more strength to keep me moving at over 300 lbs.

My hat is off to everyone who has made the commitment to move daily. Our modern lives and all our modern conveniences have made it so easy for us to be inactive that we need to deliberately keep focused on getting enough movement in.

I have my 10000+ steps in.

Karen you are probably moving around quite a bit. You sure have a full load right now

Deb I am loving the Fitbit. It syncs to your computer and/ or app. It seems to be accurate. It tracks steps, calories, distance. You can journal food. Water. It monitors very active movement in minutes each day. It has not come off once yet. It is small. Loving it

Misty, AF, Jazz. Good going!

You guys are doing so well. When I get home at end of the day, I just drop. I don't feel like doing any exercise, even though I know I should. Looked at my horse last night, and just said "no" to keeping her in for a ride. And weather was perfect. I feel guilty for not moving, which probably isn't helping my eating......

So much for my issues.........

July 24th-- Got up and made myself go for another 2 mile walk around the good ol' college. I feel good knowing I did something today, and even better knowing that it's out the way.

Karen, I bet if you wore a pedometer you will see quite a few steps on there. You seem to have a very active schedule.

Awesome! glad you are enjoying the FitBit!

I'm done with my 10,000 steps. Now my kitty has positioned himself over my keyboard and wouldn't leave so I guess it's kitty attention time.

Karen you sent your DD for batteries for that pedometer. Try it. It might make you realize you are moving.

They never got them put in yet!!!!!!

But DD (98#) and I moved my 15 ft wall of shelves into place last night, so I am taking that for at least 15 minutes of moving And took a computer table out of my house, too.

Carpets cleaned, bugs sprayed, and building is in my name. Now for furniture to start assembling......

Sounds like you ARE doing something. Now get those batteries put in.

Sounds like the new office is coming along nicely.

I already have over 11000 steps today. 4.3 miles +

July 26th Im visiting family for a few days. I went on several mini-walks today since the weather was so nice. Some I walked alone others I walked with my brother. An hour ago I completed a 20 minute jump rope workout and followed that with a 10 minute walk as a cool down. I credit all this jump roping and walking for helping me lose 6.4lbs this week. Here's hoping the losses continue.

10 minutes motorcycle was all I fit in yesterday.

Today doesn't look much better.......

My girl Friday at work was out sick all week, so I am working Sat and Sun again.........

DD22 puts on horse show this weekend, so no work on building until that gets over with.......

I am sick and tired of being tired.....and my eating and scale show it.....

Got to the gym 4 days this week and walked everynight.

July 28th I did a 10 minute HIIT jump rope workout I found online, I just viewed it on my tablet and followed along with the "instructor" then I went for a 20 minute walk. I Will def go for another walk later, I may also do the 10 min jump rope workout again. I never thought I'd find myself saying this but it feels really good being up and active/moving with purpose.

Copying this from the 10,000 step thread:

Done! 10,000+ today.

Weekly stats:
I exceeded my goal of 70,000 steps for the week (walked a total of 72,708 steps and 31.3 miles this week). I averaged 10,451 steps per day.

And, most importantly, I walked every day of the week and kept active. I have accomplished something this summer instead of just lounging about in front of the TV.

My goal will remain the same for the foreseeable future: walk at least 10,000 steps per day every day.

Went out this morning and forgot to wear my FitBit Started wearing it around 2 p.m. Plus, feeling a bit under the weather so I was lounging about for a while. As a result, it looks like I will only be in the 6,000 step range for the day.

Absolutely, Deb! How about you? What are your plans for August?

I go back to work on August 19 so I'm evaluating my schedule to make sure I get my movement in when work starts. I leave the house at 6:45 am and return around 4:30 if I don't have any after school meetings. So I guess I need to start getting up at 4:30ish am and walk on my treadmill to get at least 3500 - 4000 steps in before I leave for work.
