JULY Walking Thread

are a fun group, we don't care if you walk 20, 30 or more miles a month...

but we do have one dedicated walker (Shunsweets) who is over 100 miles every month, and in June walked 114 miles...

I just got new Asics sneakers today so I have no excuse not to get out there...

Bah. Only 49.5 for June. In May I did 55 miles. But, this hip/groin thing is screwing me over. I have rested 6 days as advised in the last walking thread and will start to give it another go tomorrow morning. *crosses fingers and toes*

I'm in if I may. I started sometime in June. My daily round is 2 miles (hilly area). In June I did c.30 miles. For July, I want to do 40 at least. I mostly walk with some jogging intervals - I started after many years of health- and stress-related inactivity.

I do Callanetics, too. Walking and Callanetics is ideal for middle aged, overweight matrons who remember when they were neither :D

Off to buy new shoes today ;-)

Hi Nemia. Welcome:welcome:. I should look in to callenetics I guess but I am more of an old matron than a middle aged one.:hyst:
Deosil - I think you did great in June while fighting that injury.:hugs:

So plus 4 for me to start the month. Nice light rain to keep me cool.

I got 4 miles in this evening (outside)

July miles = 4

morning walk, 3 km
evening walk, 2.5 km
in between 1 km

altogether 6.5 km, that's 4 miles

morning round, 3 km, that's 1.8 miles

It took me 29 minutes - I'm very slow and I live in a hilly area but I try to improve. After all, I re-started walking less than a month ago.

I try to do some jogging intervals. Today I did three, between 2.5 and 4 minutes.

My new Saucony Grip Cohesion 6 shoes are very comfortable and my feet get some air.

So all's well around here :-)

I got totally swept up in my daughters AllStars tournament last week and missed 4 days!
Man - such an intense league for 9 yr olds!��

Did a lot of walking at work yesterday but nothing to actually count.
It is over 100 degrees here today so I will walk on the Treadmil at the gym when I get home from work.

Nothing yet today... Will go to the gym later after work.
It is in the 100's often where I work... But I have to wear sweaters to work to stay warm in the AC.
If I step out to walk I might just pass out!
