Started Callanetics 10 in 10 yesterday, but have a question

Hi Ladies,

Inspired by your commitment and results, I started 10 in 10 yesterday. I have the video only, not the book. I have a question about the exercise "Behind and Hips #2". It is the one where you sit down on floor, one leg bent in front and back leg should be straight as you try to pulse and lift it, hands are holding onto bar. I easily do the "Behind and Hips #1" with the bent leg, but for the life of me, I cannot lift the leg even a little with the straight leg. I must be doing something wrong with my form, right?

Any tips? I am going to order the 10 in 10 book to see if it can help with form, but thought I would ask this wonderful community first.

You're not doing it wrong, that's totally normal for the first time. Just try it again next time, I bet you'll be able to lift it

Try putting your hands on the floor instead of up on a barre. It makes it easier to begin with.

If you go over to the other side more, it will be easier to lift the leg. You may begin with a bent knee.

Don't worry, you'll get there.
