Bucky I am so proud of you for caring for your dad. I think I wrote this before but good for you. My mom is almost 92 and in a nursing home with Alzheimer's . She doesn't know who we are and I miss her every day. I so wish I could have her here with me.

Going to try for a 2 mile walk outdoors with DH today if I can pull him away from his work computer before it gets too hot. Not a real exercise walk but nice together time and at least it gets us moving. My DH has lots of major health problems so a gentle 2 miles is about his limit but so good for him.

He actually lives with one of my other sisters, but me and my twin help out and take him on weekends and I also drive him to adult day care three days a week. Unfortunately, like your mother, his dementia is at a critical point now and his health is deteriorating. It may be that he will have to be a in assisted living or nursing home sooner than later because his care is getting to be overwhelming and more than we can handle.

Nice. It makes it nicer to share your walk with someone. My hub talks about walking with me but he has yet to do so!

Got in a 3 mile walk dvd and am now going to get Dad up and moving.

Welcome Nbateman! Join us in July and watch the miles add up.

Bucky - yes the time comes when dementia just can't be managed at home anymore. I still think it is great the way you are all working together to help your dad and when the time comes for more help you will know you have all done your best.

6/29: 2.6 miles outside in the evening
31.1 miles total unless I get a walk in this evening.

I finished the month with 50 miles walked...
Weight training 3X
swimming 3 miles
Zumba 3 X
23 hours of exercise... does not sound like a lot this month, but I was on vacation for 10 days..

I didn't meet my June goal, but I walk on average one mile more a day than I did when I first started keeping track in February...so that is a plus!
