Hello - I love to walk; I didn't realize this thread existed before today! I don't always get to walk every day, but I would love to keep track here! I am trying to do it almost every day. I have a treadmill, but it is in the basement and we are under contruction down there, so I can't get to it for my morning walks watching TV. Luckily our weather here has been nice, so I have been walking outside....here is what I can recall from my pedometer, which captures my last 7 days:

6/15: 3.3 miles outside
6/13: 3.5 miles outside
6/10: 4.0 miles outside

I stumbled and fell and broke my foot/ankle yet again. I'll be out of commission for at least 6 weeks. I'm so bummed.

Oh Rose1 so sorry to hear about your injury. Hope you heal quickly.

StacyO - welcome. Nice to meet you. The more walkers the better to inspire all of us!

+3 today very early, then off to work and then the hospital. Son is slowly improving. Going to be a few weeks before he is well and a few more days in the hospital. Very scary but so thankful he is going to be OK.

Rose - ouch! I can't imagine breaking it not once, but twice. I do hope that you heal quickly.

Thanks Bucky and Deosil for thinking of my son. He is now really doing great and going to be fine. Will be off work a few weeks but other than surgical scars he will be good as new. Was unbelievable to see a young, strong, (very handsome - the nurses were clustered around him lol), 30 year old guy almost killed from such a freak event. He had inadvertently swallowed a fruit pit months ago when he was in Korea on business and it lodged in his small intestine. Food gathered around it and it eventually became a complete obstruction and a true medical emergency. So when we all have been told the tales about swallowing seeds, nuts, pits ect. -there is something to it. He very nearly died. But he is fine now and will soon be released.

So now life can get back to normal and I can try to get back to more serious walking. And a bit of sleep at night! Lost 3 pounds this week and it seems to be holding so that was a plus.

+3 today for a total of 31. I am past my June goal but no stopping! I hope to get in a handful of walks in before the end of the month. Then will up my goal for July.

I should count walking the dog in the morning but she has become such an uber sniffer lately that we're not walking at a nice pace.
