I have the Fit Bit One and it has a screen that you can look at your steps and flights of stairs and all. I don't think you HAVE to do it online, since you can see the screen, But if you choose to do it inline it is really easy. I think the zip is the same way. (the One is about $99 and it looks like the Zip is about $50?)

Hi Ladies! Well, I not at the point of "loving" my little zip yet because I find it odd that there really are no instructions with the darn thing.

I have gone online and put in my weight, don't plan on doing any foot tracking, just primarily interested in counting steps with the 10k my ultimate goal.

When I went to set it up yesterday, I had to go to youtube to find a video just to figure out how to get the back off of it to install the battery. And here I consider myself a bright woman and pretty technologically saavy!

It tracked 500 or so steps since it was late by the time I got it together and this morning I realized it tacked those miles onto today's total thus far.

Am I supposed to clear it somehow at the end of the day? It doesn't mention anything ANYWHERE!!!! I AM GETTING FRUSTRATED!

Any suggestions! I just did my curves workout and counting that and the 500 from yesterday am at about 2106.

My last gripe....I have to push on the screen REALLY hard to switch modes, am I doing something wrong?

I have the one so not sure about some of your questions, but I do remember that I had the same issue with the count being off initially-the adding of the days steps to the next days steps. It should reset to zero at midnight and then you will be on track for daily (24 hr) step totals.

Hi Mareze! I felt the same way when I got my zip. I thought surely something was missing from the packaging. There is a downloadable manual on their site, but I remember it being a pain in the baxide to find.

Anyway, it sounds like you're all set now but just in case:
  1. Install the battery.
  2. Attach furble thingie to your computer so it can locate your zip.
  3. Enter the code sent to your zip

And that's it. It will be set up to sync when you pass by your computer.

It resets itself at midnight. It stores up to 7 days (if I'm not mistaken) of stats so if for some reason you don't have access to computer or smartphone (if you have installed the tracking app), then you have time before your data is lost. The battery is supposed to last around 5 months.

I had the zip for about a week before I exchanged it for the one, but I loved both. The screen is much easier to read on the one.

You ladies are amazing. I finally bought the zip. It has taught me how inactive I am on days that I work. Typically I cam get in about 5000 steps at work and when I come home I basically don't try to push it. Days off when I actually am active I can get sometimes over 12,000 steps.
My goal is 12,000 daily. I am trying to figure a way to do that on work days. I think the most reasonable option is get up earlier and hit the treadmill. After work I tend not to do it bc (and this is a lame excuse, I know) I don't want to get all sweaty.
My job is mentally challenging and lots of stress.
When I come home I just want to veg out and play on the computer (Candy Crush Saga, anyone?). Maybe I will have a shift in thinking and start to de-stress on the treadmill

Keep up the good work. You all motivate me into wanting to do more.

I find I get more steps on workdays. I work with kids and they always have me running around lol I can get over 10,000 easily so my goal is usually 15,000 and I even got a 20,000 day! I passed all my friends on the leaderboard!

Hey everyone, I just saw that you can link your fitbit to a walgreen's account and save earn Walgreen's reward points for your miles. You earn 20 points for every mile.
If you use Walgreens, it is a good deal!

Great post Psmileyf!

I forgot that I had connected my fitbit to my Walgreens Rewards Card until last week, when I went in and unexpectedly got $5 off my purchase at checkout. Fitbit also partners with some other sites as well.

The thunderstorms every night after work really slow me down. It has rained every day for over a week!

I got my Fitbit One at the end of last year. I tried to wear it out from January through April then backslid through May and June. I decided to get back on the horse and go for 10k steps per day or 70k steps per week in combination with an Atkins diet.

Time to get motivated.

Just a note, Fitbit will replace a lost tracker. They have a link right on their support page for that. I've lost one and they replaced it without issue.
