Hello fellow fitbiters! I just got a fitbit Flex and I love this little thing. I upped my daily goal to 12k and I make it most days. My highest day ever was over 25k but that was a long run, plus mow the lawn, plus chase my horse around the paddock day

I was pretty shocked when I started logging my food to see how much I was eating counting just carbs and not calories. I think I will lose a lot faster now and get these last pounds off, it's really made me much more conscious of my workouts and eating. Very good thing

I'm glad I found mine, but the battery is dead. Unfortunately the charger cord is at my office and I won't be back there until Monday...... Oh well!

I'd be going crazy! I went on vacation this year without it and I begged my husband to turn around for it. He stopped at Walmart and told me to get a pedometer!

I've only had my fitbit for about three weeks and I LOVE it. Until I started tracking my steps I didn't realize how sedentary I was. My guesstimate of activity level was far below what I'm tracking on fitbit. I'm really motivated to get moving now and set a personal challenge to meet my goals everyday. It doesn't happen everyday but I've lost 6 pounds since the beginning of May by adding more steps into my routine. My steps for today were: 15,867.

I had the same experience. I never realized how little I walked.
I walk so much more now. Up and down the steps all the time, which I used to never do.
I have a daily goal of 7500. I like to do much more than that on weekends and one day a week I usually fall slightly below it.
It is hard with a desk job!

I just ordered the Fitbit Zip (hubby paid for it otherwise I would have gotten a $12 pedometer haha). Can't wait to join you all once I get it!

I've checked the reviews on Amazon and plan on getting one too. I'm going to check out Target first. Walmart carries them it too. However, of all stores, Amazon is the best if one needs to be exchanged in case of getting one that doesn't work.

I doubt I'll join this Thread as most are walking jocks. , but I will certainly track it. For me, it would be very difficult being retired and no kids to chase around or even a job. But I feel it would motivate me to do more than I've been doing for sure.

From reading reviews, it seems I wouldn't get credit for doing Leslie Sansone or yoga which I need for range of motion. However, still feel it would be a motivator for regular walking. I hope...since I live in a rain state with not so nice temps most the time.

Got a badge for doing 50 flights of stairs today!

I will admit...that I was riding on the motorcycle and it was really hilly...and I did not actually walk up even one flight of stairs today

I figured out today how to get it to take the stairs away from me. I have to put in driving at the same time I was on the bike and it overrides the activity.

It came in the mail today! I had already put over 600 steps on my cheapy pedometer (I know it would have been more but it is sooo not accurate) but I clipped on my Zip as soon as I got it, around 2pm, and it has been working great all day. I have not taken a long walk since it was over 90 degrees today but I have been out with the dog twice already and will take him out one more time. I want to try for 10,000 steps per day but might only make 6000 today.

Yeah Kismet! I love mine and find it to be really accurate. I go for 10k a day on average over a week. Definitely some days I get there and some days I don't but it is fun to try. It makes you take the stairs, park a little farther away, etc.

I don't know what it is about the fitbit but it motivates me to make my daily goal. I second what LCfan said about you take the stairs more and park farther away. I'm doing that myself and look for ways to add steps to the fitbit.

I don't know but it motivated me to take my dog for 3 walks yesterday (usually he only gets 2 and if I'm really lazy that day I'll let him out in the yard alone so I can sit on the porch LOLOL). Maybe it's the little smiley face? I am participating in a pedometer challenge with my weight loss group so knowing that I have to write down my steps also helps. I can tell, after only one day, that my Zip is so much more accurate than the crummy pedometer I was using so I think that helps a lot.

Forgot to check in!

6/1-7128 steps
6/2-13419
6/3-13577
6/4-13600
6/5-16100

The 13000+ steps are my normal days working and taking my dog for 2 walks. I challenged myself to get to 15000 today by taking a walk in a local park. Boy did that put me over the top! The only reason I stopped at 16000 was because the park ranger kicked me out LOLOL

Oh, and I like how it uploads to Facebook every day. It keeps me accountable since all my friends from my weight loss group see it and cheer me on. We are having a contest so they know I'm not just writing down any old number of steps!

Thinking of getting one but there are so many models from which to choose...I can't do the really expensive one...please tell me which model you have and how much it was, if you don't mind.

I just started back curves last week and I'm trying to get fit. Do you just clip it on in the am and take it off at night? Also, I have 42 stairs in my townhouse can it differentiate stairs from regular steps and do you get extra credit

Please tell me about it....you won't be wasting your time, I promise...I would REALLY like to get one this week and join you guys!!!

I have the One.
It counts your flights of stairs too.

The cheapest model works well too.

They sell them at Target if you want to go look at them.

I have the Zip and it was 59.99. It does not calculate the stairs. I clip it to my bra in the morning and do not take it off until I go to bed. I love that you can sync it on your computer and compete with your friends. There's also a message board.

Just bought the fitbit zip this morning...now to figure out how to set it up...I haven't even opened the package up yet but I am hoping I don't have to figure out my stride unless they give a reasonable explanation how to accomplish that

I'll be joining y'all tomorrow...looks like this is a pretty slow moving board...maybe I can change that

If you plan to sync your info to computer the stride will be auto-set when you create a fitbit account and enter your height/weight info. It is accurate for me. I compared the fitbit steps/miles to my garmin and they were almost exact on distance.

Thanks Jean!!!!

Hi Lynn! I bought mine at Target....the store had it listed for $59.99 BUT I pointed out that Target.com had it listed for $49.00 flat and they were forced to price match! I went to the customer service department where thy confirmed I was correct! To that, I had a $10.00 Target gift card so for me it was $39.00...whoo hoo!

But I have done your research for you darlin' and Target was the cheapest price I could find anywhere.....$49.00!

I haven't set it up yet, but it does appear that you will be able to use it without your computer.

Maybe one of the "fitbit mavens" could confirm that since I am a complete novice!!
