Anyone want to do the Hundred Pushups Challenge with me?
 
My dh and I did this a long time ago and it was a great challenge. I want to do it again and was wondering if anyone wanted to do it with me? If you don't know what it is, you can find it by googling. There's also a free app you can load onto your smart phone.

In a nutshell-over the course of 7 weeks you work your way up to being able to do 100 pushups in a row. You take an initial test to see where you're starting at (how many pushups you can do in a row), and then you look at the chart on the website/app to find out how many pushups you do a day/3 times a week. Each week it changes-adds more pushups. It's a lot of fun and it would be cool if a few of us could do it together :)

It's also totally free to do :) You can get the app for free, with ads, or ad free for $1.12

I'm in! When would be a good day to start? I've never heard of this pushup challenge, but these are the kinds of fitness goals I really enjoy--tangible, easy to do at home, and progress you can chart. I will get the app this evening on to my phone. Great!

My dh and I are going to start tomorrow, Thursday, and do it on Thursdays, Saturdays and Tuesdays. Glad you're joining in!

Day one was ok, but I think the reasonable (and achievable) goal for me will be 50 regular and 50 knee pushups by the end of the program. Actually, I would be over the moon if I could do that!

Well, I'll give it a try. I'll be the wimpyest of the group, but anything I do will be beneficial. I not only have no strength to even accomplish the knee pushup, but also have weakness in my left wrist due to bones in wrist and hand shattered decades ago. Soooo, I'll be doing the wall pushups and then go to the knee ones using my knuckles once I get some strength in arms.

After reading your posts I experimented using the wall and did 20. This was before I read the levels on the web site so didn't start out right, but am going to still count this as Day 1.

Day 1...20 Wall pushups.

It's Saturday, and I did day 2: 12 regular and 10 knee pushups. My DH decided to join me in this, which is cool!

Congrats to everyone! I don't think it matters what kind of push-up we are doing, we should all be proud of trying to improve our fitness :D Maybe one day, we will all be doing 100 non-modified pushups :jumpjoy: Day 3 down for me.

My Goal is to first do 100 Wall Pushups to gain some strength. My Ultimate Goal will be at least 30 Girlie Pushups. No, that won't be 100, but for me will be an accomplishment. Hope that's ok since this is 100 Pushup Challenge.

Initial Test Wall Pushups: 20

Week 3
Mon....Day1: 45
Wed...Day2: 50

Hello all-
I finished week 2, day 1 last night for a total of 18 standard and 15 knee pushups. I definitely wouldn't have been able to accomplish this many pushups at the beginning of this program, so I'm really excited for that. Also, my DH, who is in pretty good shape, is impressed with how the program is working for him. I just finished my Week 2 Test and increased my level, barely :o . But, that is a step in the right direction.

I will be doing my round of pushups later on today, and then my test on Friday. I was talking to my PT about things the other day and mentioned this challenge. He thought it was really cool, and also said that on our off days it would be good for our shoulder muscles to do the opposite motion of pushups--basically puffing out your chest and squeezing shoulder blades together. I've done this the past few days,(2-3 sets of a few reps spread throughout the day) and it seems to lessen my soreness from the pushups. Just an idea!:)

A chicken coop! Are these chickens for eggs or meat? I bet you built some strength!

We just went and bought brown eggs yesterday. We had to hunt them down because the lady we normally buy from had her sign down. Need to have fresh eggs :)

Yes, we got 4 hens, hoping for eggs early this fall. I'm still getting used to the routine! But I got the hens when there was a little more work to do on the coop, so I've been out there at night trying to finish it. Hopefully tomorrow I can!

Pushups: did my progress test, and got 17 standard. Big improvement over my 4 to start with, but thankfully I'm still in the far left-hand (easy) column! Week 3 day 1 is tomorrow!:)
