Good running songs

Hey guys!
What are your favorite workout songs? I just started HIIT (oh my goodness, I am so sore) and it really helps to have a fun, fast song to play while sprinting.

My list is super random, sorry, but here's what I'm listening to now:

Closer- Tegan and Sara (this whole album is great to run to!)
Kids- Sleigh Bells
My Number - Foals
Cannonball-The Breeders
Speed the Collapse-Metric
Entertainment-Phoenix
Dominos-The Big Pink
Sacrilege- Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Dancing on my Own- Robyn (again, this whole album is good too)
Weapon of Choice- Fatboy Slim

What do you listen to? I would love to hear! New music is always such a good motivator for me to actually want to hit the gym!

domesticbliss 04-05-2013 09:11 PM

Usher- Scream
Ke$ha- Blow
Bruno Mars- Locked Out Of Heaven
Miley Cyrus- Party In the USA (don't laugh!)
Flo Rida- Right Round
Felli- Get Buck In Here
***** Cat Dolls- Buttonz

I totally agree with you, I need my music to make me want to work when I'm at the gym, I have a workout playlist AND a cardio playlist!

dariasen 04-06-2013 06:56 AM

I have a few different playlists for when I run, depending on my mood:
Techno (mainly 5th element soundtrack)
Hip Hop (B.O.B, Jay Z, Rhianna)
Metal/Rock (Metalica, Manson, Korn, Linkin Park)
Classic/ Rock (Doors, Rush, Who)
Pop (Britney, Kesha, Gaga, and domesticblis: It has Party in the USA on it as well as other horribly poppy songs that I will never admit to in public)

Listening to different types different days mixes up my pace so I don't get bored.

peretroika 04-06-2013 07:03 AM

My list has been updated. It now includes Party in the USA, which I never knew I needed badly in my life until just now.

These are all great songs! I have added a cooling down song, which is 'Girl on Fire'- Alicia Keys, because it makes me feel like a badass.

Safe and Sound - Capital Cities
Sleep Alone - Two Door Cinema Club

Miracle Mile - Cold War Kids
My Body - Young the Giant

I actually used to listen to a lot of the songs people have listed too... it's nice to have some new ones for when I get back into cardio a bit! :)

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit it, but I used to love listening to Adam Lambert when I worked out... If I Had You has the perfect upbeat pace to it :o I used to like listening to Bad Romance by Lady Gaga too and Low by Flo Rida  Man, I need to get that old playlist out and see exactly what's on it!

peretroika 04-06-2013 02:19 PM

BOOTS WITH THE FUR (with the fur!)

Oh man, I'm so adding that one too. Bad Romance is a classic and awesome song- that whole album needs to be added to my workout rotation.

 For some reason everyones love of Miley reminds me of another embarrassing music story...this summer, my earphones popped out on the treadmill and treated the entire gym to 'Call Me Maybe.' Very loudly.

Lots of good songs here. I am to lazy to create a running mix so I just use Pandora on my phone and go with whatever suits my mood. Could be Linkin Park one day and Zac Brown the next.

Last Fall I had a long run scheduled and grabbed an old iPod because my phone was dead. This is an older iPod and had almost 10K songs loaded from just about every genre you could imagine. Somewhere around mile 15 "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" by Elton John and Kiki Dee came on. I have no recollection of loading this song into our Library but I found myself singing this out loud and somewhat dancing as I went. I don't know if it was the fatigue but I had a great time listening to that song that day.

Threadjack over:

My classics for running:
Pre-Race: Eminem - Lose Yourself (I play this at the start of every race)

Zac Brown - Toes
Parlament - Atomic Dog
Bob Marley - Jamming
Daughtry - Home (One of my Wife's Favorites so it always makes me think of her)
Digital Underground - Humpty Dance (Hah, why not)
George Thorogood - Gear Jammer
Janes Addiction - Mountain Song
Kid Rock - All Summer Long
Linkin Park (Pretty much anything)
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (Relaxing on long runs)
Zac Brown - Island Song
Zac Brown (Pretty much anything)
