Does Callanetics slow weight loss

I've been losing about 10 lbs a month but as soon as I started Callanetics I've noticed a slow down on the scale. I'm not really that worried about it as I'm looking better and all my size 10 pants are too big. Just trying to get some input/experience here. I've never been consistent with exercising until now. I do it almost everyday and I love it.

In my experience, it doesn't. Not at all. Maybe you're at a point where weight loss naturally slows down. You generally can't expect to lose 10 lbs a month consistently month after month.

Losing weight before I did lose that fast. I'm older now so I imagine that's a cause. I thought I had read that Callanetics did slow but I wasn't sure.

If it does, I'd assume it's because you're toning and building muscle while losing fat... that causes weight loss to stall for a lot of people who exercise. Almost every day seems like a lot too, so it's possible it could be a combination of muscle gain and water retention from your muscles being overworked. I thought Callanetics was a twice a week thing? At least that's what my tapes say, so I'm not sure what happens when you do it more often!

Kind of. Look at this photo comparing muscle and fat and it will help explain why:

I just really enjoy doing it everyday. I'm not getting to sore either. I'm doing it right as well. It make sense about gaining muscles. My abs are getting super tight and I love it. I would love to look like the 137 lb picture.

Hi, PlanetBenjamin

Are those photos from callanetics alone or callanetics with cardio? Thanks.

Sorry, I'm not sure. I just found them on a website. I don't even know for sure if they are from Callanetics. I posted them to illustrate how muscle weighs more than fat. So you might look leaner but actually put on weight.

Great photos to illustrate what I hope will happen to me when I start my DVD's that should be here next week.

Any advice on how to begin, how many times a week, or is that something that is obviously individual? (I'm guessing the latter).

I got "Beginning" and the original Callanetics one with the profile of the body photo...both DVD's. Can't wait to start and look like the person on the right with the most weight and those great abs!!!!

Great example, thanks for the information.
