@sldeal That bed idea is a great one! I am totally going to have to try that since I have the same issue as you do with those exercises. I was actually thinking of purchasing a Outdoor Works® Base Rest Self-Inflating Sleep Mat semi-sorta camping thing I saw in Costco. It is thicker then a yoga/exercise mat but still seems stable enough to do what I need to on it but with a lot more cushion for knees and things.

I completed two more hours over the weekend, bringing my total to 8/12. I feel great!

I noticed it's a big difference on my knees, would love to know if it works for you.

People are now telling me that my butt looks smaller don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing, but I'll take it as a compliment

Enjoy your Callanetics everybody!

Well after a week of doing little exercise (was travelling for work) I finally did my 9th hour today (only 6/15 for the month - don't think I'll be able to do 9 more hours in 8 days) Wow I can feel the regression! My legs are like jelly and the hip & bum exercises were so hard to do.
What is the variation for those ones? I hold onto my kitchen counter but find it so hard to keep up straight and end up resting on the opposite arm of the leg in use. My bum still spasms during the exercise so not sure if that's okay?
The pelvic exercises were so hard today too...

Second hour of Callanetics is done! I wanted to get to it a couple of days ago but ended up walking for around 2-3 hours each day the last couple of days that I decided to wait a bit. I have to say that Callanetics seemed easier today for me and it is only the second time. That may be purely because I have a better idea how to do the exercises from doing them the first time or just that my body is beginning to adapt this early on. I hope it is the latter.

Happy Callanetics everyone!

That's great everyone!

Another hour for me. I was stronger today, and in the leg exercises felt my hips turn even more, without me trying; it was like a ligament released and allowed me to. This made my legs feel so much lighter!

Wow...everyone is doing great! I was sick for a week so I'm way behind, but I just finished #4 for April. I did the pelvic tilts and rotations standing with bent knees. Still felt it. My knees just won't let me sit on my feet and "lift". Good grief!!! Or maybe it's weak thighs??? Anyway, the DVD people sure make it look so easy! Someday!!!

This is exactly what I have to do. I figure it is still working, it's just a different stance. I tried doing the rotations on my knees today; made it through two rotations before I decided that was a BAD idea. Continued standing up, and still got in a good workout. I hope your knees become stronger too - it does get easier. Promise!

Jen, that is just fabulous. I hope to catch up with you in May!

I tried those hip/pelvic rotations on my dining room chair...sort of a heavily padded captains chair with sturdy arms (knees face the back of the chair)....and that was great except the chair is on wheels! ha ha But the idea worked. I'm trying to think of alternative ways to do this with "props". I have lots of yoga and pilates goodies, and I'm determined to find a way for us to do this without hurting our knees. I"m thinking of kneeling on a bolster with the knees hanging off the edge so that the knees are lower than the heels? We'll figure this out!

I'm feeling lazy today. It's my day off, and I just want to doddle and do my things. I know, though, if I don't do my Callanetics in the morning, I just won't do them, so I'm going to have a breakfasty snack and get my peach out there.

Already I can feel a huge difference in my hips. Going back to bending my knees for the floor stretches has helped tremendously; I'm already able to go over more, and am feeling the stretches in the right spots.

I catch myself feeling uncomfortable during the day, and what fixes it is sitting or standing up straight, whereas before, it was the opposite. So something's working!

Okay, I think I've pumped myself up! Now... off to pulse for one more hour!!!

Logging in 11/12. Almost to my goal, which I will surpass. I will likely get in 15 hours this month, unless life gets in the way. Everyone is doing awesome - keep it up!!

Fabulous Jen!!!!! I'll challenge you for May, okay?!

I did #5 today and played around with ways to not have my knees impacted. Found a way to do all the pelvic stuff that worked and made all the "work" to to my thighs which is how it's supposed to. I put my knees on a very thick foam pad (5" thick) and then I put a bolster (about 7"?) under my feet....so my feet were higher than my knees which is exactly backwards from what I figured would happen. But somehow it made me able to lift my derrierre off my feet just a few inches and still have the impact on my thighs and no pain whatsoever in my knees. So, little by little, I will reduce the height of my feet as I progress. So happy to find another "way". Also, I find that when I wake up in the morning, I do those pelvic rotations while lying on my back...really works the abs! ha ha try it!!!

Go Jen!!!!!

One more hour!

Results so far:

I'm taller, my posture is so much better
Something is stretching out in my pelvis
Stomach is more defined (I can see indents on the sides and when lying down a two pack)
Back is much looser and not as sore
My hips shift more during the leg stretches allowing me to bend over more
If I do a little sprint, my back and behind don't jiggle as much, in fact they barely do
I'm stronger
My "skinny jeans" are loose (small rolls of material are appearing beneath my butt and on my lower thighs)
Everything is lifting
I've lost , on average, 3/4" all over my body.
I'm feeling capable and alive!

I appear to have pulled my groin muscle somehow so I have been picking and choosing which exercises to do that don't hurt. I can't say I did a full session I guess but I DID do what I could and did a 2 mile walk today also (which probably didn't help the groin pain). :\

I got in 1 hr yesterday and another hour this evening that's 19/30. Looking at myself I don't see any visible changes, but my clothes are hanging much better so I guess that's all that matters for right now.

It sounds like you might have been pushing yourself a bit too hard. Gentle... you'll get there.

It's hard to look in the mirror and see what's going on. We all tend to have a distorted view of our bodies. That's why I take measurements every once in a while. It really makes things clear for me. I also find it much more exciting to see the change in measurements as opposed to weight.

-------------------------
One more for this month! That makes 8 since the middle of the month, not even actually.... Not bad!
