I plan to do 2 full workouts each week. (I do an abbreviated version everyday to keep my hips and back from hurting.) So I should do about 8 total hours this month. I did a full hour today so I'm already 1 for 8

I'm in. These dvds are staring at me right now!!! Will do 2 a week starting tomorrow - I'm just learning to do them so the consistence will help me. I do some individual moves while watching tv but not a whole hour at a time.

Hi everybody,
I didn't post last month, but I am still in (more or less... )Did one hour yesterday and plan to do it every 2 or 3 days, mixed with running the other days. I still have the problem, that I don't see any results at my stubborn tummy... But: I noticed that my bottom is much leaner and not "wabbling" any more while running. Yay! ![]() |

PM last night.
I did water aerobics this morning and am amazed how much callanetics help me doing them. It's all about tightening the core to stay upright so jogging, etc can be done. However, they never mention tilting the pelvis a bit. It helped soooo much. So glad I started doing the dvds!! |

I slacked off in January and the beginning of this month but starting back up tomorrow! Also doing low carb -started yesterday. I can't stand the thought of putting jeans on anymore and we are getting a new pool this year so no more chubs for me! I want my great legs back too... I have Evolution. Curious on how it compares to the older workouts, 10/10 , etc. ??

I have a question for all of you veteran Callanetics people - actually several questions.
Do I need any special equipment, like a barre? I understand that the workout itself is an hour long. Is there any to make that into two 30 workouts? It will be difficult for me to set aside an hour, while a half hour is no problem. Do you have any recommendations for which DVD a complete beginner should start with? Thanks in advance! |

You can most absolutely break the workout in to smaller chunks. I used to do exactly that back in the '80's. I'd put on my hot pink leotard in the morning and start the warm up and then find I'd get through abs before breakfast. After brekkie I'd do another 15 or so minutes then later on another 15. It worked brilliantly for me. AM/PM is awesome for this also as it's designed to do 30mins morning and then 30 mins later. It was my favourite for years and I loved how Callan would wear a black lacy leotard for the PM workout ![]() There is a Beginners DVD but I always suggest buying 10/10 or Evolution along with it and it won't be challenging enough after a while. Happy Pulsing

Do I need any special equipment, like a barre? Ooops...forgot this question ![]() No special equipment - just find a suitable and stable support for the barre work. Kitchen bench, dining table etc |

Thanks so much for the info!
A friend gave me a copy of the 10 in 10 dvd, and I did it last night. Wow, was harder than I expected and I had trouble with a few of the moves (knees were killing me!). I did enjoy the pace and liked feeling my body stretching and moving. My plan is to do the 10 hours and then reassess. So - 1/10 hours done! |

I started my 10 in 10 yesterday (and Janet you are so right about those exercises when you were on your knees - ouch - hopefully it gets easier!)
Anyway, I hope it's not too late to join. I know I won't get in 10 hours in February but you have to start sometime! So - 1/10 hours done! |

Oh, I'm doing Callnetics Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. And usually my Turbo Jam (which I love) on Monday and Wednesday. And something like hiking, biking, tennis or raquetball on Saturday with my BF. We are both doing LC together so it nice when we eat out. We don't live together so our menus are never the same.

I used to do this years ago and stopped for one reason or another. I started again last Friday and have done 3 hours....is it really possible that I've lost .75 inches off my thighs in that time?! I thought I had on the wrong pants (I have two different sizes I wear, depending on the cut/color) because the thigh area was looser than I thought they should be but when I looked at the size they were the smaller ones!

2/10 hours done!
I really feel it today. I was able to do more yesterday, but I think today will be a treadmill day. Most of my knee problems I think are because I am so out of shape and I have no mat. I've been doing this on my living room carpet. Yesterday I folded a towel and put under my knees which helped a lot! |
