I'd love to join your group! I need motivation to be more consistent!
Just got back from doing 2 mi. and my goal at this point is to get in 40 mi. each month, at least getting out (or on the treadmill) 4 or 5 days a week. I do the Jeff Galloway program of a 1 min. walk and 1 min. jog (my jog part is just a fast walk with maybe a little hop to it!) I've been a long time walk/jogger for years and have found that as I'm aging and can keep my body moving I feel so much better! I have osteoarthritis and had neck surgery a year ago and the neuro's exercise advice is fast walking. This looks like a great group! ![]() |

Welcome Lovin'locarb! So glad you are joining us. I do find posting my miles here does help keep me consistent. I agree fast walking is a great, safe exercise!

Thanks Shunsweets!! I look forward to the motivation of this group and journaling my walks to help me with accountability! My big issue is just being consistent and not going for big gaps inbetween exercise sessions.
Today will be a treadmill day for me as we have a snow storm coming in and the wind is already blowing outside...My plan is to get 30 min. in every day whether inside or outside, preferably outside, so much more enjoyable! Have a good day and thanks for the welcome! ![]() |

I heard there was a storm coming to CA later today. A little nervous as my son is flying in there from Korea tonight. Hope he doesn't hit the bad weather! Good for you jumping on the treadmill Lovin'.
Plus 3 for me today. Beautiful sunny day but only 10 degrees with the wind chill brrrr. |

Thank you for the welcomes! Got 30 min. on TM today at a fast clip, only registered 1.75 mi. so better step it up! 30 min. outside seems to get me further! Got a good sweat going tho. Tomorrow will be combined TM and 15min. T-tapp, a good little muscle toning workout.
Hope you're all having a good day and good weather! |

I know its mid Feb but can I join??? I just started making walking an EVERYDAY habit this week so i expect to have a low total. I normally take my dog on a 2 mile walk every Sat and Sunday...but now i am walking everyday since work has slowed down.
I walked 4 miles today! 2 miles yesterday (Sunday) 1 mile Saturday (not enough time for 2 miles...busy day) Total for Feb would be a low 15 miles counting my other weekend walks |

Hi Kris's. Nice you are here with us!
+4 for me today. I agree with Heather walking outdoors is so much nicer than indoor walking but whatever works and sometimes mother nature just doesn't cooperate! |

Welcome Kriss!!
I got 30 min. and almost 2 mi. on the treadmill...Sped things up and still didn't quite hit the 2 mi. mark..I'm so glad to see the 30 min. I stop! Why when I'm outside and I do my 35 min. Galloway program I hit 2 mi. on the GPS with no problem! (and I've measured it with my car!) lol...Blame it on the mill! I did a pace of a 2 min. walk/1 min. plod-jog. Shunsweets hope your son got in okay...I'm not impressed with this storm so far, just started snowing but no wind and I'm sure the coast isn't getting that much rain...hope he had a smooth landing. I'm liking the accountability this group is giving me! I was really sore from the last two days but wanting to be able to post for today got me back on the TM! ![]() |

Thanks Lovin'. I think my son is in Phoenix now and will be back to Philadelphia at midnight. They made such a big deal about the west coast storm here that they scared me. Lol it is always the storms they don't say much about that are the worst!
Good job on the treadmill. I find this thread keeps me moving too. Hi everybody. I'm so glad to have such nice people to walk with! |

Well, I don't think I'll get my mileage goal in for February but I'm getting my 30 min. goal in on the treadmill....Tomorrow I'm hoping to get back outside where I can get some distance in. Did a 2 min. fast walk/1 min. jog pace today.
Shunsweets I noticed you carry hand weights so I used my 2 lb. hand weights today on the TM since I'm not really getting an upper body workout in lately and it really made a difference! I'll use them from now on! ![]() |
