Thinking about getting a FitBit or BodyMedia...
Anyone have one of these or a similar gadget? Leaning more towards BodyMedia but not sure. Anyone?

I have a bodybugg, which is like a body media, it's great but I hate the monthly fees...

I like the fitbit better but also a polar heart rate monitor that you can plug in to the computer and see how you're doing. I returned my fitbit and got more info from my heart rate monitor. They are good though.
That cost is what turned me off of the Body Media type. My husband has his fitbit on every day, and the sleeping with it also. Love to monitor my progress any way I can. It's positive feedback for me even when I don't see physical results. |

I have a BodyMedia. Bought it on Ebay for a fraction of the retail cost. I too researched the different wellness monitors out there, but I did love that this monitors my sleep as well. Plugging in every morning definitely keeps me accountable.

I have a BodyBugg. My subscription that was included is up in March. I'll be selling it after that. I won't pay for a subscription. That, and I haven't been using it. I don't like how obtrusive it is under my clothing.

I had a BodyBugg and I really enjoyed it but I hated the monthy fee. Then I found the FItbit and I love it so much when they release the waterproof version I will be giving this one to my oldest DD. I like the fitbit so much more seems like everything I need is right there where I need it an I rarley have to update when I start my computer my stats are already there. I do utlize there board they have a lot of tools that I find work great with my low carb eating choices.

I love it! I started at like 2000 steps a day, so being up to 5000 is a big jump for me.
I am trying to add on an average of 1000 per day each week, so I should be up to 10,000 in 5 weeks, hopefully coinciding with nice weather so I actually want to walk outside. |

I've owned both and have to say I like the FitBit a lot better.
It is easier to hide. I wear mine in my bra. It tucks in easily. I also like the fact that one doesn't need to keep purchasing subscriptions to use it. In the past I did get free subcriptions from my trainer and I have been tempted to jailbreak it. I did get the cheaper one - just wanted to mainly use it as a step counter (which was basically all I was using my Bodybugg for). |

I got myself a fitbit for my birthday and after just two days I can tell I will love it! Loved seeing how many steps my walk was, and just keeping track of being active. I was at 7000 steps yesterday, and that included watching a movie with my kiddo. Today I walked a mile and a half-ish, and we are going to the zoo after a while. That I can sync it with my iPhone is way too much fun.
I went to their forum yesterday, and wasn't that impressed. |
