Anybody Want To Be A Treadmill Buddy 2013
It's the start of a new year .... and again, a chance to become a new you!! Wishing everyone the best of health, as we reach our goals together!!! :jumpjoy:
This morning, I walked 50 mins, 3.15 miles @ 3.8 mph, 518 cals. A great improvement within the last few weeks .... looking forward to reading my TM Buddies posts for the New Year! UPDATE: While on vacation during the week of December 16-21st - I worked out only one day with my Shaun T Fat Burning video - and laid around the villa. Over that weekend, I worked out on the TM approx 30 mins, 2.13 miles, 400 cals. each. I rested the next few days because of my back and ankle. I started walking at a slower pace - 3.5-3.8 mph: Weds., 12/26 - 36 mins, 2.09 miles, 303 cals. Thurs, 12/27: 40:19 mins, 2.35 miles, 325 cals. Friday and Saturday - rest days Sun, 12/30 - Shaun T Fat Burning DVD Mon, 12/31: 30 mins - Shaun T Fat Burning DVD Hubby has a new tour with his transit job ... he's leaving later in the morning (6 a.m. instead of 5:30 a.m.) - which interferes with my 5:30 a.m. workout, as he goes downstairs at 4:30 a.m. to shower/get dressed so that he doesn't wake me. Therefore, I am considering doing the Fat Burning DVD workout in the bedroom when I wake up at 5:30 and walking on the TM when I get home from work. It will be a challenge but I am willing to try that. Keep up the good work, TM Buddies! |
Marking my spot. I haven't done a thing for the last couple of weeks. I had a sinus infection for about 8 days and couldn't breath to do anything, but for the last 5-6 days I have no excuse. I plan on jumping on the treadmill tonight and getting back to business!
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday and thanks for the support last year! :) |
Happy New Year Treadmill Buddies... I'm here for another year !
I'll be back later to update. Thanks Del for this amazing, encouraging, motivating thread.:jumpjoy: |
:hiya:I would like to be a new treadmill buddy. Just re-started so I'm basically a beginner. Having issues with shin splints this time, walking at about 3.5mph seems ok now, any faster and my shins are in agony, so I have to start slow.
BUT I am determined :) |
:welcome: zagnut!
I didn't get my workout in last night. I'm shooting for a better accomplishment tonight! |
Did the mile today at 15:56, still lots of pain at higher speeds, but not as intense as the first few sessions, so hoping better running shoes will help.
|
Tuesday and Wednesday - Treadmill (getting psyched to re-start Phase 2 of Insanity).
Thursday - Treadmill (logged 2.8 miles) this afternoon I'm going to do my Pilates tape. Have a great day everyone. Welcome aboard: Zagnut |

TM Buddies, let's continue to MOVE OVER and :welcome: zagnut and Deb!!!! Always room for more ..... glad to have you here!!! Zagnut, I had to slow down also, not because of shin splints but because of my ankle and back issues. You're doing great but easy does it as you do walk ....
Everyone's doing a fantastic job .... I LOVE IT!!! Today, I walked 32:01 mins, 2.02 miles, 333 cals. at 3.8 mph (working my way back up to 4.0). Have a great day! |

Happy New Year!!! Sorry I've been MIA....between the holidays, visiting family and being sick I haven't been keeping up....everything is getting back to normal now....
I hope to be back to workouts soon although they will be very simple for now.... Hope everyone is doing well and I will hopefully be back in here on a regular basis soon! |
Well ordered running shoes after trying them on in the store. Couldn't believe the difference with the ones I currently have(which were highly rated when I bought them). Hoping when I get them next week, they'll help prevent the shin pain!
Anyone have any thoughts on their favorite running shoes? |

Im a nike girl..have 7 pairs:love: |
Skechers GoRun Ride. They felt incredible, I didn't really think Skechers would make a good running shoe, but reviews were good so went and tried them. It has a mid-foot strike and feels completely different than the Asics Gels I have.

Hi, TM Buddies!!! Don't know much about running shoes, but glad you were able to find some, zag ....

Lori ... you're on the move, lady!!! Good job to Deb, Lori, Zag .... keep it up!!! Just stopping by - yesterday, I worked out to Shaun T's Fat Burning DVD for 30 mins. Getting ready to head downstairs to the TM. Will check back later and plug in the numbers |

Great job everyone!! |
Hello! I'd like to join in if that's ok. :) I've been doing induction for the last few weeks, pretty strictly since last Wednesday. I've found checking in on the boards here to be super motivating for the diet! I haven't been exercising though and I know that's super important especially to maintain weight loss. I usually go hiking on the weekends and I'd like to add in some exercise during the week. I have a couch to 10k program on my iPhone and I'm starting it tonight! I plan on doing that Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I'm looking for some kind of full body strength training to do on Tuesdays and Thursdays at home. Any suggestions for a strength training DVD that requires dumbbells? Thanks!

1/3: 1.8 miles, 29.5 min, 273 cals (C25K, W3D1)
1/5: 2.026 miles, 32 min, 300 cals (C25K, W3D2) 1/7: 2.005 miles, 31 min, 301 cals (C25K, W3D3) |
Just got back from my walk/jog :)
Went 1.7 miles in 26 minutes & 50 seconds, burned 171 calories. |
You guys are really working hard! Can't wait until I can jog/run a full mile without stopping.
Walked about 2miles on saturday, not on treadmill, out in the cold. Wasn't a super fast walk, just brisk since it was COLD lol. My shins ached but didn't hurt like before, I can't wait for my new shoes to be here tomorrow! My treadmill has a 5k training program on it and I plan to start that. I'm not sure what it entails or starts at, I may have to work up to being able to jog a full mile before I start it, will find out tomorrow. |
Hi biggestloser! Welcome :) I've been looking into buying weights, maybe 4lb or so to use while on the treadmill. I do callanetics off an on and love that. It's stretching and muscle toning, very low key moves but lots of results. Not sure if that's something you would be interested in, there are callanetic threads on here you could check out. Other than that, I'm not much help lol!

Have a bit of a set back....this time it's not me, though....as most of you know, my Mom is in late stage dementia and my Stepfather has been caring for her along with home hospice care and hired home health aides....well, yesterday he fell on ice in the driveway and is in the hospital for at least a few more days...mostly for observation and a few more tests (he's 88 and had heart surgery many years ago)....so I have had to move to Mom's temporarily till he is home and able to carry on....today was very hectic and I didn't get a chance to even do the simple exercises I hope to do while I'm here...
I do have a plan of a few exercises I should be able to do if I can get a care routine established that works for me....Mom is doing well and hopefully things will be back to normal soon... |
:welcome: biggestloser! Looking forward to reading your posts! :hugs:, Linda - may God give you and your family the strength to continue caring for your wonderful parents with the love and patience you show! :aprayer:
Lori, Ladylove, Zagnut - awesome job!!! Keep up the good work as you keep on movin' :jumpjoy: Here's my stats: Sunday 1/6 and Monday 1/7 - rest days (lower back pain) Tues 1/8 - 45 mins with new Shaun T Rockin' Body DVD - WOW WOW WOW!!! I ordered them last week and received them yesterday .... talk about SWEAT!!! Here's the deal .... since hubby's schedule changed and he is in the family room/man cave one-half hour later, I will work out to the DVD's Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri mornings; TM on Weds, Sat and Sun (since I am home on those days) :D. That should work - it's a win, win situation! Have a great day, everyone!!! |
Thanks for the warm welcome! I ordered a couple strength training DVDs this morning and should have them in a few days. One of them is Jillian Michaels and other is by Jackie Warner. They both have pretty good reviews. Can't wait to check them out!
For now, I'm going to try doing this tonight: 10 Full Body Strength Training Exercises for the Beginner |
