I get bored realy easy so I set up a computer so I
can use it while I am on the treadmill. This morning
was the first time I used it like this and it sure helps
the time go by faster. Wish I had tried this earlier
now I can watch a lot more Netflix movies and not
feal so guilty about wasting time.

Great workouts Del !!!... I pray you find a new job soon (something will come your way soon).

I took Friday off from workouts and Saturday... I did a 1.4 mile walk around the lake.

This week I'm going to focus on doing more exercises to enhance the abs and do some more Pilates (trying to keep the variety thing going).

Everyone have an awesome week .. no excuses (lol).

Thanks, Ladylove .... glad you were able to walk around the lake ... that must be a beautiful sight!!!

I am experiencing menopausal weight gain - my face is the same but my abdomen/belly area has increased, along with the backside! Can't fit my outfits .... I am so disappointed but do realize that I have to continue with TM exercises and turn it up!!! I've made a crazy schedule but we will see how great I do with it....

This morning, I walked 45 mins @ 3.5-4.5 mph, 3.05 miles, 525 cals. I would like to do that twice a day, but can't promise such! I am eating too much chocolate and although I told my doctor that I have such a craving for it, she said, don't overdo it and don't deprive yourself but you must keep working out! My problem is that the 30-mins of exercise doesn't cut it ....so, I've got to "up" the routine with regularity --- I haven't worked out with my DVD's with Shaun T either. I just feel that the TM will give me more cardio for weight loss at this point.

Have a great day, everyone!

I'm with you Del... I like working with Shaun T too with the Insanity workouts but, feel that I get much more Cardio from the Treadmill.

Del, sounds like you have a good plan in place... I hope things work out for you.

I too am fighting the bulge around the belly... this is my hardest area to tone so, that's my goal is to get this area under control. Seems like the older I get the more my weight just stops right there.

And.. yes the lake view is absolutely stunning (I will have to post a picture).

Thanks, Ladylove .... I did some research on Menopausal Weight Gain, and yes, because of the hormonal imbalance, loss of muscle, etc. the infamous battle of the bulge stops by. On Livestrong.com it stated that more intensity and longer walks on the TM (5x a week) will help. It compared the difference between walking 30 mins at 3.5 and 4.5 mph to walking more mins. like 45 or 60 mins. (5x a week) calorie burn, to accomplish menopausal weight gain loss.

So, since this weight gain is stubborn, I am too!!!! I HAVE to take CONTROL!!!

Love your new commitment Del. Me too.

I did a conditioning class this morning and I plan staring couch to 5 k again not that my knee feels so much better.

Southern Dad! I am so glad to be reading your posts... okay, here's the deal TM Buddies ... in all my excitement of walking 45 mins plus - my back gave out and I've been taking it very slow ever since. I am not the young spring chicken that I used to be....

So, since my last posts, I've taken rest days ....

This has happened several times so I have to find a level to walk and burn calories without the speed and incline that once worked for me ... hubby suggests that I start over but without the incline ... take it easy...

I could ... starting tomorrow, I should be much better. Let's try this again .... but at a slower speed...

I miss you all when I am not in the "race" but it's about being safe and healthy too!

Great job, everyone ... have a good day!

Yesterday, I walked for 46 mins, 3.06 miles, 501 cals. on the TM. I took more a chance to extend my walk so that I can find a benchmark. This morning, I felt pretty good - the back area is hanging in there.

Have a great day TM Buddies!

Thanks Ladylove and keep up the good work, too .... I took a rest day today .... had some cleaning to do and also met with my insurance company adjuster. Last week, during a storm, the rain was falling through the roof of the house into our dining room .... I called the insurance company about it .... this had never happened before and I was noticing stains on the wall area ... I attributed it to roof damage from Hurricane Sandy... sure enough, although my eye could not detect it, they confirmed my suspicions.

Hubby and I knew that a few shingles had come off but they saw that on top of the roof there was a bare area down to the wood .... we have to get a tarp in the meanwhile to cover the area until we get the check from the insurance company as well as the estimates ....

I tell you, when it rains .... it pours, literally!!!
