Findingme, Jillian will be happy to get you sweating! I have her Boosting Your Metabolism and No More Trouble Zones, tried them and wow! I've got to work up to them.

By the way, your hubby's birthday is two days after mine.

You're telling me!!!! I just did 7 minutes and had to stop! I am breastfeeding and dropping weight very well so I feel like I can afford to take a break if I absolutely must and work up to doing the full 20 mins. I am confident I will still see great results and I feel if I work up to it I will be less likely to get discouraged and give up. I have lost almost 40lbs just from breastfeeding. I really need to tone up and tighten everything from the weight loss so Callanetics isn't quite intense enough for me right now. I guess I need something to really hype me up and get me motivated. I so desperately want to slim down and finally see what my body could be like. I have always been heavier from not eating right or being active and now that I saw how easily the weight is coming off I really want to stick with something and see results! I feel like this right now!!

That is cool about your birthday, mine is September 10th. I hope to have great results by then!

FindingMe, 40lbs lost, just from breast feeding? You’re doing excellent!! You’ll definitely make your goal. I’m hoping to do the same.

Hey! I did 10/10 for the first time this morning and I really felt it in my shoulders! I thought it would all be in my legs.

So that's my first hour. I skipped the ab exercises and did some pregnancy safe ab exercises instead.

1 Hour down. I would like to take a before picture but being huge and pregnant I doubt it would really matter. Maybe I can take one of my butt and thighs since that's where I need the most work.

Does anyone have advice for reducing stretch marks?

HappyMommy, some of my friends use 100% Pure Black Jamaican Castor Oil --with good results. You may want to research it online, and see if it’s something you would want to invest in.

Hi everyone!

I've been happily doing other workouts the last few days, mostly in an excess of enthusiasm about the fact that I CAN do them.

Did some self-paced Callanetics tonight, though, and wow, did it feel good.

I really do like the pace of Callanetics.

Pop, that's terrific! I'm hoping Callanetics will help me quickly drop the inches from my waistline, too.

Hi everyone! I just finished my first hour of 10 in 10 I cant do the pelvic exercises at the end. My knees keep popping. Is there a variation of this exercise that I can try? Thanks!

Instead of doing these on your knees, you can do them standing up. I find I have to focus more when standing, but it does work.

I purchased Super Callanetics last week and it finally arrived today.

All I can say is "WOW" & .

I had no idea these exercises would totally exhaust me.

I had to quit right before the "open & Close"....I couldn't go on.

I thought I was toned until I started doing these exercises.

I'm not hurting but my legs are wobbley and I feel like a bowl of j-e-l-l-o.

There were a lot more exercises on the knees but I did them standing up and they still seem to work.

I have so much respect for Callan.

Did some more self-directed Callanetics today. Technically today was a rest day, but I was feeling both restless and kinda stiff, so Callanetics seemed like a good choice.

You can do them standing holding on to a barre alternative.

Feet facing forward and hip width apart (hip width meaning hip bones)

Bend knees and sit back as though sitting in a high back chair.

Tips:

As you perform the rotation keep your knees stable and aligned over ankles and falling in middle of foot.

Keep your rib cage stable and relaxed down as you rotate with crown of head lengthening upwards: this applies to kneeling also. (I'm adding this as there is tendency for beginners to thrust their rib cage out as they rotate).

Start your curl from the base of your behind (Sitbones) this applies to all curling

The lower you sit the more intense.

I do have a pic of Adelaide, my DIL, demonstrating this on my Callanetics Facebook page.

Hope this helps

I read somewhere this this also is great for the hair and promotes growth and thickness I've never been able to find it here in Oz unfortunately.

LOL I was able to do 23 minutes into the 10/10 and I am POOPED! I am saving the rest for tomorrow. I really need to work up to it since I am breastfeeding and dropping weight quickly still from that. I think i'll take the advice to do the video in parts throughout the day for now instead of trying to do it all at once like I just did. At this point I am happy to just take things easy and do what I can. I have looser skin so I am excited to tone up all these areas and see how many inches I lose from that. I am not so concerned with reaching 150..It is my goal but I will just go by how I look and feel to determine where I stop.

I am proud of myself for anything I can do but I find it hard sometimes to make myself workout! Do any of you suffer from this? I feel so regimented if I don't do things at my own pace. I don't have much to do and I feel great when I finally do workout but before then it's a real struggle for me to get to the point where I am doing the workouts lol. I am trying though! I am glad I have this forum and support of others doing the same thing!

I can so relate to your trying to fit in the workout. When I first started Callanetics in 1987 I'd just had my second son. I was mad keen to work out every day but found it difficult to fit in the entire workout in one go. So, when I was home with my boys I had a plan.

First up, I would don my leotard and wear all day) hey it was the '80s after all and there really is nothing better to work out in, that or a swimsuit). Wearing my workout outfit would tune up my brain for the workout. I would do the warm up and then add arms, waist and neck and abs before breakfast. Before lunch, or when I felt I could sneak in 10 or 15 mins, I would do legs. Later on I would do hip and behind etc, etc. I found that If I did warm up and abs before breakfast I would always find 10-15 min time slots throughout the day.

Rather than divide up your workout over two days I think it would be better to shorten the workout by reducing pulses/reps and complete all the exercises on the same day. Even doing 20 mins is great as long as you complete the full workout.

When Am/pm was released this became my all time absolute fav for years. It was just so doable for me. I was so hooked and addicted to the program there were very few days when I didn't workout.

Make it work for you and fit in to your lifestyle.

Are you holding on to barre or support? If so try slowly leaning your torso over to the side until your knee or leg lifts up off the floor. Move very slowly though so you will know when you've reached your optimal position.

If this doesn't work you can rest your forearm on floor. Pic of this is on my Callanetics Facebook page.

I completed my 2nd hour yesterday morning and plan on getting up early for my third hour tomorrow. I went to my prenatal appointment today and I have four more weeks before baby arrives. Hopefully I can get 12 hours done before I have my little girl!

Sandra, when will it be safe to get back into callanetics after the birth?

Standing Pelvic Rotations

I've posted a video with Juanita, one of my students, demonstrating standing pelvic rotations. So, for those of you who can't do the kneeling position this is an alternative.

Hope it helps. Have a great weekend

Absolutely, but it's always best to wait the full six weeks and get your docs clearance first. Wishing you a perfect delivery

Checking in again. Did AM Callanetics today, loved it!

Was going to do PM, but did 'When you have back pain ... ' since it's short, sweet, and not too traumatic. My back's been aching for a while, and I think this video's focus on the core will do me some extra good. Plus, it's calm, and I don't feel pressured to try the advanced plank and side plank moves. The basic ones are enough for me, for now, LOL!

5 hours of callanetics done this month

speaking of results: I can put 2 fingers in the gap between my tights

but my middle section is still stubborn, I think I need more cardio because I've lost only a few cm in my waist
