JULY..Swimming Laps, Water Aerobics, Running in the Water...



How about joining us and let us know how you are doing with exercise in the pool..water aerobics, walking or running in the pool...or laps...

Let's be accountable for hours/minutes we accumulate in the month of July..

My goal is 2 miles a week in our city pool..which I just joined.

FYI. = 25 yard pool...36 laps make a mile (or 72 single laps)...

HOW ABOUT IT???
It makes it more fun if we get alot of people to join us...

Becky... glad to hear from you,,, isn't water aerobics fun? I may go to the pool with my DH later. I did a 4 miles walk today, but it was very HOT..

I'm joining in. When I first started this WOE I was going almost every day to the pool. Now I'm lucky if I go once per week. I am going to re-commit to going in July.

Hello, I'm new, I teach Arthritis Water Exercise Classes at the Western Family YMCA and the Newark Sr. Center in DE. I teach 10 X classes a week, a total of 10 hrs a week, usually, plus I teach Swimming Lessons 3 nights a week and a couple of afternoons. I may be picking up another adult class. Just to let you know, this WORKS! I used to be over 430 lbs and I have lost over 225! Remember 1/2 hour of water walking is worth 2 on land!!

Here is a video they made about me at the Y, if you are interested! ;-)

Thanks for the video.. I am sure the people will watch it...Thanks for inspiring us...

I find it so much easier here in Florida to be in the water, even though I am still walking outside and doing aerobics...

Back from my vacation to Wisconsin. I didn't have a chance to do laps or do a water aerobics while on vacation but I got in a 30 minute non stop laps in the gym pool today and am happy about that.

I want to join!! We have our own pool and I love taking my 2 daughters out to swim...while we are swimming I try to do some vigorous laps, I have found that just swimming leisurely for an hour burns 420 calories

FYI.. I googled..
Pool exercises...went to one that said Pool Exercises.. YouTube...
(GREAT VIDEOS)

I got alot of ideas of ways to exercise in the pool when I can't get a lane at the city pool...

Bought some cords that attach to the ankles so you can swim your heart out and not do laps. Like an endless pool. They gave my kind of a claustrophopic feeling so I think I'll try them on my Speedo Deep Water Running Belt instead... still a good concept.

We bought them at Pinch - a - Penney. $32 ish dollars. I've seen that kind of thing that goes around the waist and then hooks to a pole and you swim your lil heart out...

I forgot about there being a July pool thread, so here I am. Ive been maybe 2x since the begining of July. I missed this eve, had to have sort of an emergency meeting with some friends. Tom afternoon I will attempt to join the senior ladies at the pool. If they let me in that is!

Jane Im going to watch your video now, thanks for posting that. It sounds pretty cool and congrats on your weight loss thats amazing
