Today is a new day and I am trying to find my grove again! I read over some old threads and have decided to admit my addiction to carbs and go low carb for awhile. I have done so many diets over the last 20 years and decided it is time. I really want to get this weight off and feel healthy!

Taking the dog for his morning walk and then I am going to put in another hour of EVO today. That will make 11 since I started and 9 for the month of May!

My belief in myself will empower me!!!!!

Happy Saturday!

WOW

I printed my hour 2 and hour 10 photo side by side and printed it! Huge motivator to keep logging the hours. I can really see a difference in my mid section! Hopefully by hour 15 I can figure out how to post the photos. Love seeing progress like this in such a short time. I started April 25th! YEA!!!

So happy to hear that mtnmomma!! It gives me hope so thank-you

I hope we both figure out how to post pics because I'd sure love to see yours.

Hello Marishka ! Four is better then none..I'm sure you'll see some lifting and tightening by then.

Vanilla - kidney pain is no fun. I've delt with kidney/bladder issues for a couple years now and it's horrible when it flares. I hope you feel better really quickly so you can start callanetics

I actually have a question.

I am cursed with huge thighs. Even at my smallest (110lbs in my early 20's) I had big girl thighs. When I work out with weights they grow even after the first squat or lunge!

I've thought back over the years when they were the smallest (still big though) and it was when I was doing pilates and walking..and barely eating. I don't want to go there again.

Have any of you who have naturally huge thighs saw a significant 'long and leaning' of your thighs by doing callanetics? Callan's thighs are so slim and look like they go on forever. Is it possible to get thighs like that when I naturally have tree trunks?

I'd really love to see your photos too guys. I remembered I used the 'mountain view' button but you have to have a URL and I think that's the problem. Try uploading your images somewhere else other than here and then using that URL. My URL was from a different site and it uploaded fine.

Thigh stretches

Did part of an hour again yesterday, but I realised part way through I was just too tired and wasn't doing them well enough, so I stopped and just ran through the stretches.

Can anyone recommend alternative/additional thigh stretches please, as my thighs are both huge and very, very tight. The curve on the front of the quads grows even with callanetics because I can't stretch it enough I think. Thanks

Here´s my 11 hours (3 weeks) result.
I make sure to measure on the same places by using my hand, waist is 1 hand above navel and above knee is 1 hand above knee and so on.
Didn´t lose anything on my bum and navel this week. Think I need to loose alot more fat for those cm to shrink more, but I´m working on that

start ************ 7 hours (2weeks)***** 11 hours (3weeks)
weigh: 76 kg******* 72,9 kg ************ 71,5 kg
chest 90 cm ******* 88,5 cm *********** 88,5 cm
waist 80 cm ******* 77 cm ************* 76 cm
navel 100,5 cm ***** 93 cm ************* 93 cm
hips 107 cm******** 104 cm ************ 102.5 cm
bum 113 cm ******* 110 cm ************ 110 cm
l thigh 67 cm ****** 64 cm ************* 63,5 cm
r thigh 67 cm ****** 64 cm ************* 63,5 cm
above l knee 52 cm **50 cm ************* 49,5 cm
above r knee 52 cm ** 50 cm ************ 49,5 cm

It's great to see more folks enjoying Callanetics!

Regarding sleeker thighs: Yes, Callanetics do help. At least, I have found that to be so, and have read posts by others saying that they have, too.

The standing leg exercises in the Evolution routine, which have the basic ballet positions, and then pulsing in those positions, are super. Also, the scissors and leg squeezes, of course. The pelvic scoops and figure eights. The leg, hip, and derriere exercises from Super Callanetics, etc. (I might be leaving out a group, but those come to mind, at the moment.)

Modifying the exercises, if needed, so that one can work that muscle group, gets results, too. Over the years, I have found that even a greatly modified (for me, less demanding) version of an exercise brings good results.

And, as Sandra recommends, alternate exercises, as well as, the type of pulse exertion: traditional pulse technique one day, the next day with with circles or rotations. Using the counterpulls and engaging the pelvic floor with make the exercises more effective.

It takes perseverance, but is so very worth it.

Callanetics are my daily miracles.

Best wishes to all for happy Callanetics living!

2 days in a row without Callanetics--AAAHHHHH

Life gets in the way some days. So tomorrow I will put in a full hour and that will make 12 total. I realize how much I love it when I have two days that are too much with other things!

I think I will get Super Callanetics and switch it up with EVO. I use to play EVO from front to back but would burn out in the early days before I made it to the end. Now on days like that I do ABS first and move up the selection tool and complete the others one by one.

I think I can get 7 or 8 more hours in before my trip to the beach-- My goal is not just for the beach but it certainly helps.

Hope to post that I completed hour 12 tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the comments on sleeker thighs Em. Must try CE legs.
Another hour of 10 in 10 yesterday morning. Lost count again!
Just checked - that makes 8 total hours and 3 partial sessions.

I have been wondering if that hip and behind exercise is better or more effective than the ones in the Evo DVD.

We have lots of different exercises that target the same muscle group and it's important to work with them all for maximum results. It's so easy to reach to a plateau as the body gets used to a movement, or exercise, so changing regularly will keep your body guessing as to what's coming next.

If you reealllly pay attention to your body and don't zone out during your workouts you'll know when it's time to change a pulse, change the exercise or dvd. Being human we are programmed to be habitual and we really want to avoid this when it comes to exercise for maximum results both in body shape and therapeutically.

Happy Weekend beautiful Callan Peaches

Something I'm not sure if I've mentioned here before but doubling up on a exercise is awesome if you have a particular area that you're keen to change or you just want extra peachy or ab umph for the weekend or special occasion.

I've posted this to CallaneticsEvolution Facebook page. So visit if you haven't already.

Thank you for your response Sandra. I also have been doing Callanetics since 1986. I did the 10/10 a bit and as soon as Super Callanetics came out I gobbled it up. I do enjoy Callanetics Evolution. I also lurk about on facebook and noticed those 2 pictures and was immediately intrigued. I mainly maintain, but I always love a good challenge. I am 48 and feel funny saying I need a ramp up on my work out.. but as you said, there are always ways to change the pulsing and intensity.
