hi all, i'm new and would love to share my story and journey w.you

hi everybody. i love these forums; so many of you have inspired me for the past few years that i have hung out here. i finally decided to register again bc I want to lose ten pounds. I'm sure it sounds so insignificant to those of you here who have lost 100+ lbs (i literally can't think of a bigger accomplishment, you guys are amazing) and i feel embarassed about it but, the ten pounds still seems impossible to me and i wake up every day saying today is the day but change my mind bc i always seem to have an excuse a few hours in. i finally decided that i am just a lazy person, but i want to change that. i'm also an extremely impulsive person, you might say i have no self control. laziness + lack of impulse control adds up to never achieving anything. anyway, i want to try a cycle of 30day shred beginning tomorrow. i'm not doing any specific diets but will begin to watch my calorie intake and avoid junk/fast food beginning tomorrow. this might not seem like radical enough to manifest as weight loss but i'm eating horribly and have been for a couple of years, so it should make a significant difference. seriously, i think i average like 3,000 calories a day. i guess i'm lucky because i should have gained much much more weight but think i'm naturally somewhat thin, although i am now definitely a fat skinny person. i'm 5'5 and i think at around 135 right now. i'm hoping that this time i'll stick with it and thought that posting here would help keep me on track.

anyone want to do a cycle of 30 day shred with me? i haven't tried it yet and would love for someone to tell me if it's going to be impossible as i'm in absolutely horrible shape right now. i'm also a smoker :s great to be here!!

This sounds just like me. If I don't to something straight away, it never gets done.

*Shameless plug coming up*

Come and join us on the Callanetics board. That works wonder on the body. It will make your body look smaller and tighter without dieting.

*End of shameless plug*

Pinkblob, i might take you up on that offer. I love bar style workouts and have been doing them on and off for a few years. I have Callanetics, Bar Method, and pure barre. Have you tried Pure Barre? That one is by far the most difficult one I've tried. I agree that bar workouts yield, by far, the fastest results. Thank you for the welcome

I've not tried it. Talk about my ignorance. I've not even heard of it. Although a look at some videos on YouTube will soon put that right.

I wanted to see if there were any studios in your area but I don't know where you are located (except I know you're not in Boston, Mass) I live outside Detroit now and commute to Ann Arbor for school and they have a studio there so I will be taking my first class tomorrow! I'm excited bc I think a class setting will push me harder. I moved here from El Paso, TX (I miss it sooo much!!) and there was no opportunity for bar style workout studios in even a 300 mile radius probably. Have you been to any classes for Callanetics? I hope you see me on the Callanetics challenge soon!

I'm in Boston, England. Boston, Mass's poor older brother. The only classes I have seen advertised around here are for Pilates and Zumba, and neither appeal to me. I just follow the DVDs for Callanetics. The nearest class for that is 2 hours' drive away. Plus the classes are too expensive for my pocket. I reckon the only place over here to have pure barre classes would be London and again that would be too far to travel for any exercise class.

You will have to sign up for the October Callanetics challenge.
