Got in two laps before work this morning! I would have left home in time to get more in if I had realized it was going to be 69 degrees!! I can't believe how much better it made me feel just even doing a little something!

This is as far as I got on the bike last night. I just sat beside it. . I didn't feel good for some reason. Maybe tonight. It's too hot to walk outside again!!

Two laps this morning = .5 mile....but that's better than nothing! It's supposed to rain and then cool off a bit so maybe I can walk every day this week. I'm going to try!!!

I'm so sorry. I hope you are feeling better today! I didn't walk this morning either. I just couldn't wake up and get going. Maybe it's the big "cold" front moving down on us all and the pressure change or something.

Walked two days now. I've been having some blood pressure issues so I'm afraid to get too exerted but I know that's the answer to the problem in the end.....eating right and exercising and getting to a normal weight.

I got a new Fitbit Zip to count my steps....fancy electronic pedometer that syncs with my computer and smartphone. Maybe it will keep it interesting for awhile!

May I join you?

Leisha! Great job on the walking!!

A little about me...I've been around LCF for about 11 years. I'm down about 120lbs...and have kept it off for about 10 years now. Still not quite where I want to be, but not unhappy either. I'd like to lose a bit more body fat while building strength...so I'm not relying on the scale much these days. I'm taking measurements and BF%. And being patient (not my forte).

I've been following a weight training program called new rules of lifting for women (NROLFW for short) , for a few months now and really like it!i lift 3x week and do some cardio 2-3 times a week too! Usually my Zumba class once and either HIIT running/walking on the treadmill or elliptical. I don't care much for cardio but enjoy Zumba with my friends and think a little calorie burn is a good thing .

Hey Julie!!!! Of course you can join us, but I've got to tell you this is the "just doing something" and that's literally about all we can do, but it is way better than nothing! You have always been my hero!
You've done such a great job getting yourself fit and healthy. You are an inspiration and you look great, by the way!!

I had 5000+ steps yesterday but I'm still trying to get my blood pressure issue under control and I was afraid to over do it! I walked my mile before work this morning already so I'm shooting for that 10,000 steps today!!

Karen......good for you!! One day at a time!!!!

My weight lifting was always farm work.......but now I don't do as much
And I am not in near the shape I was with lifting-type work. Keep us posted on how it goes.

New to this board! This challenge is exactly what I was looking for. I am trying to incorporate 20-30 minutes of doing SOMETHING every day. I have a bad back and find that if I don't, my back gets tight. This morning I did 20 minutes on the recumbent bike and got it cranked up pretty good, and then did 15 minutes of weights. Happy Thursday!

momofthree!!! It's so hard to try to do a rigid exercise plan for me and my busy schedule so just getting that few minutes in here and there and being accountable to check in here is challenge enough for me too! Glad you joined us!!!

Glad to have you!!! This list helps remind me to do SOMETHING, even if only 5 or 10 minutes. It is something!

Mom-welcome! I just joined here too! Any activity is better than none! Good job this morning!!

Thanks Leisha and Karen!

I'm doing well...got a fitness assessment at the gym this morning, was hoping it would be BF% using calipers so I could compare it to my caliper at home, but it was that handheld bio feedback one which I don't trust. (And it was 7% hier than mine!) But it's a measurement and he had me do a abit of cardio and some weights for a tracking measurement. Tried to get me to sign up for training sessions, but I told him I was happy with my program and making good progress on my own.

Weights is something that I never consider and I know I should. I have some little 3 and 5 pound ones but my all male family has more! I think I'm going to try to add that. Stretching (my yoga ) is another thing that I just "forget" about and I know how much better it makes me feel!

If you're looking for a good, free, beginning weight training program look up stronglifts 5x5. It's a simple routine, only 3 exercises each time. 5 reps, for 5 sets. They're all compound lifts so they work a lot of muscles in 1 exercise. An excellent and easy place to start. You add weight to each session, so start with low weighs and concentrate on form. Squats and dead lifts are really amazing can transform your body so quickly!!

Got a fitness assessment today...which was frustrating as it wasn't the Bf caliper I had hoped for, but at least it's a measurement. Those handheld BF gauges aren't any more reliable than the scales .

I did get in 6 minutes on the elliptical, and 1 set of bicep curls, tricep curls, lat pull downs and a few squats. Not as much as I had planned, but at least 10 minutes in .
