Gremom- Plyo cardio, holy cow! good for you!
Tuesday: 45 min intervals on the recumbant bike, oh my Lord. I swear I thought my legs were going to burst into flames, or fall off and there would just be stumps in the middle of the gym... I'm bowing down to the Bengay now in hopes that a thick rubdown will make my muscles stop screaming ![]() |

everyone! I haven't exactly been goofing off lately, but I haven't been exercising either. This weekend was helping cook for about 70 Scout leaders and then Monday I subbed -- running back and forth among three different buildings and it was cold, rainy and nasty!!! OK, yesterday I goofed off! But today I'll try to get some exercise in, besides sewing, housecleaning and baking cookies for my DAR chapter meeting tomorrow. And TRYING to stay away from those cookies myself! ![]() It's raining again today -- never as much as an inch, just so little it can't be measured even in our digital gauge, but at least it's better than none. ![]() Leisha, the purple martin scouts have already been spotted in our area, but no one has set up housekeeping in our houses yet! This is our first year trying for bats but I hope we attract some. Thanks for the congrats and same to you for your 24th anny! ![]() Everyone have a great day and get a move on! ![]()

BTW, Kel, my mother was from a small community near Aggieland -- Gause, over in Milam County. I still have some relatives there. I love that part of the state, it's so pretty.

Kel, if you blink, you'll miss Gause! You've been there! What you may not have seen there is a very small concrete blockhouse (I think it's about 8' x 8', behind one of the little stores there. That was my grandfather's jail, way back in the early 1900's. He was the town butcher, the only lawman in town and, when called up by his captain like the national guard is activated now, a Texas Ranger. He would lock his prisoners in that little blockhouse and send a message over to the sheriff at Cameron, the county seat, to come and get 'em! At last, everyone, I've gotten myself moving again! I've Treadclimbed and Cardioglided and I may even Dance to some Oldies today! ![]() Hope y'all are having a great day! ![]() |

Yayyy!!! I did it! Sweating 4. I shouldn't call it dancing, because I am so uncoordinated, and hip and knees won't let me do some steps anyway. Mostly, I just flail my arms and legs around, but it's fun, even if it is corny! Let's keep moving, ladies! ![]() |

thanks Kel, I definitely feel a burn from the bike but I hear so much talk about how people love ellipticals that it's nice to hear from someone who's tried them both...

I've been missing out on my exercise, but will try to get back with it today. I subbed for the primary school secretary yesterday, then went out to eat with friends (Red Hat sisters - anyone else in Red Hat Society?), then a play, then to eat! The first "Out to Eat" was a disaster - we sat at the high-priced restaurant near the theatre for over an hour while people were being served all around us, and finally had to leave without being served in order to make the curtain time! We ended the night at an IHOP where the service was great and the food came quickly! But it is always a fun night with "the Girls!" ![]() Let's have a whole lot of shaking going on, ladies! ![]() |

Sunday morning! I wasn't able to squeeze formal exercise in yesterday, but did lots of housecleaning, cooking, etc. We had guests for dinner. But, I hope to get in some treadclimbing and maybe, like you, Mel, bowflexing today. Of course, to bowflex, I'll have to get dh to move the giant wooden trunk that he parked on the bench of the machine! ![]() A friend of mine has a recumbent bike, Bliss and Kel, and she loves it. But the recumbent, as well as regular bikes, ellipticals, gazelles, stairclimbers and even regular treadmills, hurt my hip that I broke once in ... an unfortunate misunderstanding with my horse. ![]() Gremom, your workouts sound pretty intense to me! Just the name Insanity scares me off! But Mommy_Gates, I've been thinking of buying some LS dvds and maybe some Zumba. I know I'm too klutzy for Zumba, but I would do the same as I do with my Simmons dvds -- wait until dh is out of the house and then just flail my arms and legs around if I can't do the moves! ![]() Everyone have a great and peaceful Sunday! |

Did 15 minutes Treadclimber, a dvd of RSimmons, and pulled the gigantic wooden trunk off the Bowflex bench and pushed it away from the BFlex. Decided that was enough exercise for the day and went to bed for a nap!
