I'm back. Last month I completed 5 hours of 10/10 callanetics --I know not a great number, but I also exercised with quick callanetics and the lotte berk.

April is starting off better-so far 4 session of 10/10, 1 session of core fusion (thighs/glutes) and a couple sessions of quick callanetics.

So I'm back in the challenge.

Logging in with quick stomach and 8 minute arms.
That makes 10 hours total... I wonder when the stomach exercises will get easier.... I still have to leave one leg on the floor, and my hands behind my neck...my neck gets so tense!
I feel like I'm not making progress in that area..still at the same level. Anyone finding the stomach exercises still hard? or do they get easier...

Hi all!!! I'm new here, I just found this Board last Monday while I was looking for before/after pics of callanetics. I've been lurking ever since

Just wanted to say that since I've been reading old and current posts you all have had marvelous results with your callanetics practice and I only hope that I can attain the same results! I ordered my Callanetics DVD a little over a week and a half ago and just received it last Thrusday. I looked at it on Friday and decided to try it today. and let me tell you WOW I sure do hope that its normal to feel all nauseous and shaky the first time out because if so then I'm on a roll here lol!! I couldn't move for about 5 minutes after finishing the hour and only just dragged myself off my living room floor to make it to my laptop to post this reply

If possible I would love to join this challenge because I think that it would help me in sticking to my goals with this here callanetics excercise. I know we're almost mid month with April but if I could get a goal of 5 hours in then that would be great. So I'll just be logging in 1 hour out of my 5 that I'm making my goal and I'm doing 10/10. sorry for the long post

work out

I started out on weight watchers and lost some weight and have now switched to Atkins. I tried walking but as heavy as I started out (311.6) it was hard on my knees. I am down to 289.2 and I am riding a bike but would like to do something else also. I try to stay busy and out of the house as much as possible to keep my mind off food and no unnessacary snacking and I eat nothing after 7 pm. What can a big girl like me do for exercise that won't kill my knees?

Logging in my 2d session for April (16th overall) My second session consisted of 50 minutes on the elliptical and the warm ups and abs. Walked an hour today and hopefully will get another hour in tonight.

Will post then.

I am not really seeing any additional changes but I think that is a factor of having large gaps in between sessions.

Any idea as to the minimum I can do per month to achieve results? Trying to do it daily is too challenging.

Can you ladies tell me... I just purchased the Callanetics dvd from Amazon.com and the picture quality was terrible! Is this the dvd you are all referring to?

I would recommend 3-4 sessions per week, plus 3-4 sessions of cardio a week, 30 mins of cardio each session. Pay attention to diet and nutrition. A new body is 80% nutritional focus.

Guthrie, give it time. Atkins is a great plan for losing weight and reducing our appetite, so if you follow the plan as written (read the book), you should see very good success. Try walking a little bit 4-5 days per week, for as long as you can, even if it's just 10 mins. The next day, add a minute. BABY STEPS.

As you begin dropping the weight, you will become more flexible and your joints will begin feeling better, more energy, etc., and you can increase your walking. When you're ready, you can begin a light weight resistance program to build some muscle while shedding the body fat.

Set small goals and focus on eating on plan for now. Best of luck to you.

Yes!

Be patient. Your body will respond as you progress in gaining strength and flexibility.

It will happen. Just be consistent with your workouts. Don't let too many days go in between sessions. Try to get in a full hour of Callanetics each session for no less than 3 days a week for best results.

Hmmm that doesn't sound right. The picture quality on mine is perfect. I wonder if you got an illegal copy or something? I would send it back to Amazon and ask for a replacement.

Logging 5th hour for April (15 hours in total).

Despite being extremely tired, I did one hour of Callanetics on Friday after work. Then for the next three days, I didn't do any. I had a flu and felt low energy and no motivation. I wanted to do one hour last night, but ended up spending the evening eating junk food. :-(((((((((((

I ate terribly the past two days: lots of junk food and processed food with high sodium, high sugar, high calorie ---- basically high everything except nutrition :-(((((. The problem was that I went to parties filled with this type of food and I gave in… and because I was so full from junk food, I didn't eat regular meals…

I'm glad today is a new day, and a new beginning… I feel the strong desire to "be good" again. I will start Callanetics again and eat healthy meals… no more unhealthy snacks!!!

BTW, my body can really tell how Callanetics makes it feel good and how eating badly makes it feel bad...

Hi everyone, I am new here. I just found you googling callanetics ;-)
I have just received the Callanetics evolution dvd, and I plan on starting today! After reading all of your great results, I cannot wait!
I have never done callanetics before, so I hope it will work for me.
I am going on vacation in about 6 weeks and hope to shape up, do you have any recommendations to how many times a week, I should do the dvd to see the fastest results? should I add cardio to the routine? or do the dvd several times a day?
I am now 233lbs, and have already lost about 40lbs doing Leslies walking workouts. I have done Core fusion and pilates plus the last week, does anyone use these in you rotation with callanetics?
I am so glad I found you! It is so motivating to hear all the great results you have had ;-)

Mia

Hi to all, (Lizzy, Tamtam34, JaneM, Creolita, Zayna, DonnaD and the rest--And thank-you for coming back to help us Twyla! )

Logging number 3 and 4 for April. (25 total) So I am doing some walking on alternate days and trying to watch what I eat better-- I think that's part of my mid age stomach roll. Keep up the good work, I know I feel so much better- I even feel a desire to do callenetics if more than a few days go by!

Oh and by the way, I can't say enough about how nice it is for me when my neighbor friend and I get together to do callanetics. Share your work-out with a friend-- turn heads in your neighborhood this spring !!!!

Best to you all....

Hi to you too
Yes, callanetics is like addiction, I simply keep wondering how could have I lived before I found it
Today, my friend was asking me what did help me to improve my appearance so I told her about callanetics! It´s great to share its benefits with other people!
Happy pulsing

P. S. Another session done, that is 7th for april. I´m slowly adding some advanced moves and it is so good. I can feel how pelvic rotations are effective.

Hi everyone! Thanks WATCH-ME-SHRINK for the response!!
Hi Jane, I know what your saying about it being like an addiction!
I do the 20 min program one day, and the full hour the next, I find it's helpful
in my moods, and general overall well-being.
Baileyrangefan..I actually did share Callan, with both my sisters!
I have one addicted... The other is really interested and wants to get
started asap..
PS my stomach hasn't been this small in a very long time!
I'm melting!! I'm meltinggggggg......
lol
