Logging in my 16th hour, of 10/10, can hardly wait for 20th hour so I can take pictures. The visible changes are mostly in my upper body, I guess fat comes off there first, my chin, arms and the lift of the bottom, less visible cellulite on the legs. I still have my thunder thighs, although I also jog and swim almost daily. My body just won't let go the fat.

I know July is 3/4 over but didn't want to wait till August to re-connect. Big love to Romy, Ben, Shimmer, and the lovely Sandra. Oh how I've missed you all.

Did 1/2 hour yesterday. Have had to reaquire my dvd's since everything melted in December. All these months later, I've now got 10/10, Evo, Cardio, & Super (still need to reaquire the Quicks) but I beleive I'm ready to regain my life and lift my sagging spirits and tush. I felt taller today after yesterday's half hour and am amazed at how my body remembered the moves and form. Wish me luck

Did hour 7 of 10/10 yesterday, for July.

16 hours in total since starting again in June 2010 (after break of ....well too long to mention.....let's just say years!).

This is going to be a way of life, this time around. ) Everything is beginning to feel much firmer.

Congratulations on your results There always seems to be an area that is slower to respond but continue on your journey and you will get the results. Don't forget to notice the little changes. I had a student who complained that her saddlebags didn't seem to be improving as fast as the rest of her body but when I told her to run her hands over her outer thighs she noticed that they felt a lot smoother and more toned and this was a huge motivation for her to continue and also increase her workouts.

Hi all,

Whenever I do callanetics I am writing it on a calendar that I keep on display in the kitchen, which motivates me to do it more often.

Did hour 9 for July yesterday (of 10/10), which is now hour 17 since re-starting in June. )

Reading all your posts in here is very motivating. I've also lost 5lbs on a low-carb diet, so I'm feeling very happy today.

Natalie.

Callanetics are such a fulfilling way to exercise. I write down how long my routine is, these days, too.

18th Hour of 10/10 done! I feel my body getting smoother and tighter every day. I hope I can keep this up, all of you have helped me along the way by sharing your experiences. Thank you Auntie Em, and Sandra for your guidance, Sandra, as soon as I get back to the US (Sept) I will order Evolution, I'm excited to see what new and improved exercises you have developed. Until then, I'll stick with my faithful 10/10. I do have some old tapes back home of stomach, legs, etc, I had bought all of them 15 years ago when I had first found Callan, I wish I had stuck to them. Now I am determined to take charge of my body again, and bring out the fit me, if not entirely skinny me.

Best,
Angela

Logging my 9th session of 10/10 for July. It's my 11th session overall since getting the DVD. I took some post session 10 pics very bravely, and while I'm not ready to post anything til I have more change to boast about, I can indeed see a bit of a difference. My weight seems to be dropping at an overall rate of about half a kg a week (1lb) - slow but steady.

I read an interesting snippet in a book I have. Apparently in a study that was done, people who weighed themselves daily lost more weight than those who weighed themselves once a week.(Jennifer A.Linde, Robert W.Jeffrey,Simone A.French,Nicolaas P.Pronk, Raymond G.Boyle, 'Self-Weighing in Weight Gain Prevention and Weight Loss Trials',Annals of Behavioral Medicine,30,no.3(2005):210-16). The study involved 1800 adults over 2 years. This flies in the face of what we are told so often - to forget about the scale or only use it weekly.

To tell the truth, I weigh myself daily and have been all along. I do so, aware that there will be fluctuations. It means that if ever there is an upward trend over a few days I will be able to analyse and act on it fast and make the necessary adjustments to how I'm eating, resting and exercising. I only record my weight one a week.

Keep up the wonderful work all you amazing people out there

New here

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the board. Last week I was googling "hourglass figure" and I stumbled upon Callanetics and this forum. I saw the before and after pictures and I ordered it right away. It came in the mail today, I ordered Evolution and I patiently waited for my children to fall asleep. I started doing it and was really excited about the stretching and how good my body felt. Then my 2 y/o woke and she just fell asleep again. It's midnight so I'll have to try again tomorrow. I hope to get in 4 hours by the end of this month.

I gained 65 pounds with my last pregnancy and I've only lost 20 of it. My daughter is 2 now so I can't really use her as an excuse anymore. I'd like to lose 18 pounds by mid October and another 16 by the end of the year, the last 14 by my birthday in March.

Look forward to chatting with all of you

FloridaMom, welcome! I hope you're enjoying the Callanetics Evolution video. Sandra, who teaches that class, posts in this thread, which is wonderful. If you have questions you'd like to ask here, please do. There are many here who have had great success with Callanetics and some teachers. Sandra's username at this forum is Sandrahanna. I used the search function and looked up many of her posts, which helped me a great deal.

Am continuing to incorporate the pelvic floor contractions and counter pulls into daily activities and more exercises. Am noticing a nice development of muscle tone in my abdomen and thighs due to this. Also, using the pelvic floor contractions lifts me out of my pelvis while walking, sitting, getting up, etc., and takes pressure off my knees. This is most grand! Wish I'd been doing this all my life. I can see how the lifting up out of the pelvis, with the counter pulls, and the PF contractions could protect the knees in everything.

Sandra, your recommendation to move the leg back an inch or so in the sitting-down exercises for the bottom and thighs is working very well. I'm noticing more muscle tone and anti-gravity effects. We will all have those nice peaches Callan promised!

Hope you all are having a very nice Sunday!

I'm right there with you, my daughter turned 2 in June, and I decided to take charge of my body. I lost 3 lbs and 7 inches in the past 3 weeks, and I'm tickled pink! You will love what Callanetics will do for your body and soul as far as relaxation. It is difficult with kids, I have two (2 and 4 yrs old) very active kids and they never seem to take a break at the same time. You have to be kind to yourself and set time aside for taking care of your body and your mind. You will feel more relaxed and more empowered.

and we are all looking forward to guiding you the best we can.

Auntie Em,
Thank you so for your guidance, I have started to see some results as well with my inner thighs. I am so pleased with the way my body is taking shape. My tummy is still a major problem, I think I just have too much fat deposit under the outer skin, so some weight loss is required for me to get close to a flat tummy, but it has lifted up, it's no longer hanging over my pants, and that alone is a reason to smile. Also when I took my measurements all over I noticed that my butt actually got 2 cm bigger, but it is rounder and higher, from a droopy pear to a peach!

Logging in my 19th hour for July of 10/10! I'm almost at my first hurdle, the 20 hour mark, and then hopefully changes will take place faster, or so I have read. My body is stronger all over, I can feel and identify muscles in my body from my neck down to my hamstrings, they are really there, beneath my somewhat fluffy exterior :-) Still have 35 lbs to loose, hopefully as my muscles get stronger, I'll be able to burn more fat.

Minimenci, isn't Callanetics amazing! I'm so glad you're having such good progress. I went through a phase when my bottom was lifting a bit, and it got wider before it toned further. I didn't care for anything getting wider, which strengthened my resolve to shed some pounds. I'm glad to report on what has helped me or things I've noticed.

You are amazing to get your exercise in with small children right there.

My 20th hour of 10/10 done!

Yey!, I reached my first hurdle of 20 hours, I will wait until tomorrow to take pictures and see if I can notice a difference. I cal feel the difference and sometimes see it more, sometimes less, but even my knees are more defined, they look almost sexy if I may say so, hard to explain. I feel great, I think even my double chin is getting less noticeable and I feel happy that I'm finally doing something for myself.

Well done Minimenci. I certainly feel different in myself too. I can't stop touching my knees as it's great to feel "bone" underneath....lol.

Hi Warriorwithin. I weigh myself daily too. Sometimes I like to jump on the scales with shoes on and heavy clothes, so that I can get the satisfaction of thinking "oooh I remember weighing that weight last week without clothes".... I also think it's great to weigh daily as it helps me to keep on track.

I'm on a low-carb diet as well as doing callanetics, so the callanetics helps to preserve the muscle and ensure that my body is only burning the excess/stored fat.

Natalie.

I weigh myself almost daily too, it keeps me in check. I haven't seen it go down in a couple of weeks, although I have been exercising, running and swimming almost daily, I'm thinking I'm probably building muscle under the excess weight, and the latter will burn with time.
Haven't really counted calories, just trying not to eat white bread, rice, sugar, etc. and no excessive eating.
