Question for long-time Callanetics veterans....

Years ago when I did these regularly I think I did a minimum of 3 hours a week for a couple of months, then went into "maintenance", and I seem to remember I did maybe only one or two hours a week to "maintain". Does that sound about right to you? I can't seem to remember for sure and I'm trying to make plans for my exercise program for this spring.

Rest Day, I didn't do any exercises Sat 3-27, just to sore still.

Soreness seems to be gone today 3-28 Sun.!!! So I did 1 hr. of 10/10 so that's 6 hrs. out of 10 today.

I guess I need to do these every other day or less. I'm not as strong as I thought I was cause, Callanetics kicked my bu.. doing them four days in a row. When I signed up for the challenge I had 12 days until the 31st of March and I wanted to do 10 of those days, taking 2 for rest. Oh well, theirs always next month.

You all are doing wonderful at staying with it!

Well, I had to take 3 days off after doing my first 10/10. Wow!
I guess my short term goal for April will be to do 3 workouts a week and walk the other days. Thats reasonable, right?

Princess: You've mastered Callenetics and have no muscle tone? That's really discouraging to me since I am hoping to find my muscle tone again with it. LOL. I'm in the same boat with about 10 lbs to lose and eat well already.

I just ordered Evo. and CC. I hope others on here have found their muscles with them!

If I have been fit this entire pregnancy (elliptical 5 hrs a week/ walk the dog 3 hrs a week/ callanetics 3 hrs a week) do you think I could sub out some of the ellipticalling for cc and some of the 10/10 for evo? Thanks!

Still going strong although wierdly the exercises that used to be 'easy' for me (i.e. hips&behind, legs) have become harder and the exercises that used to be impossible (stomach, pelvis rotations) are now much more doable...

Question: does anyone split the 10/10? I would like to do the warm-ups and stomach before I go to work and the rest when I return, but I am worried about lack of warm up in the evening. Any suggestions?

That happened to me, too Some exercises just get harder because you learn to boost them, sort of. You're not thinking about it, but you're still doing it. They'll probably shift again after some time.

I think it's ok to split 10/10. I would recommend doing the warmups at the beginning of each set. They don't take that long and do ensure that you won't do any harm to your body. Trust me, you definitely don't want to stretch your muscles withup warming up!

It's crazy again at work I hate it. I'm just too stressed to do anything tonight. Need to go to bed, but I'll try to get up early to do some exercises before work, maybe that'll help the day get better.

BTW, I'm walking in loose clothes! It took me awhile, but I realized that I really need to tighten up my belt, or it's nothing more than decoration

That's awesome on the clothes and keep up the great work!

I am the same way as well. The stretches are getting easier for me but I'm able to do them much deeper. I can also really feel my pelvis when doing the pelvic floor stretches. I can finally do all 10 of the 2nd plie type leg exercises without wanting to scream. LOL! I still find the stomach ones hard only b/c I can round more so it's a deeper burn. The hip/thigh ones are easier for me but I can really feel it more. I can really tilt my pelvis higher and keep my hips rolled in. I just feel so much stronger with each session. I love these exercises.

I was supposed to do them on Sat and Sun but I was so tired at the end of each day. I cleaned house, cleaned out closets, went thru clothing, and worked outside. My car is also very clean and yard work is done. We are having such gorgeous weather that I want to be outside soaking up the sun and not stuck in the house. I made sure to do my hour today of 10/10 for a total of 15 hours! Only one more until I hit goal.

I would not want to do CC that pregnant at all. I'd be afraid to get stuck in the midst of a plié or something. It's a very different movement than the elliptical and is not all that easy, and if you're not used to it this late in the game, I would recommend you stick with the elliptical for now. I've never done evo, so I can't say, sorry.

This happens to everyone as they learn to naturally challenge themselves with it. It's great, eh? No matter how good we get at callanetics, there's always more of a challenge! I think that's why most of us never get bored with it.

Re: the split. Yes, I've done exactly that, but did some of the warm-ups (not the arms) in getting ready to do the second half, just to get the blood pumping.

Well, I'm almost at 10 hours of Callanetics and thought I'd give it a "review"...

No, I don't look or feel 10 years younger but I do look and feel a lot better. Maybe 7 years? LOL.

My legs are looking REAL good, muscles are tight, cellulite has almost disappeared, bumps and bulges gone and I've lost almost 2 inches on my thighs.

I have a waist again, although I have a ways to go there. My tummy has definitely started to pull in, the silhoutte of my lower body no longer resembles a lumpy sack of potatoes.

My arms are a bit tigther, my back hurts less (I have back problems) and my flexibility has increased A LOT.

I'm not as happy as I could be with my behind, though. I'm doing AM/PM which does include the "peach" exercises but even though my strength has increased while doing them and I can now do the full count on these exercises, my butt still feels and looks pretty flabby. It has lifted somewhat, I think, but it it just feels and looks very gooshy still, especially in comparison to my upper thighs, which are like steel compared to what they were a few weeks ago.

Anyone have this experience? That your butt seems to lag behind your results elsewhere? Or maybe I'm not doing the butt exercises right or something? I kind of doubt it, I am a real stickler for trying to understand the "form".

Or maybe it's just that at age 54, my "peach" is going to take a lot more work to find under the gooshy pear?

I do have more weight to lose, but it's mostly in my tummy and boobs, not my rear end.
