It's that time of year when we all need to put that little bit of extra effort into our exercise routine.

Yay new thread! I was VERY lax over Christmas as had friends and family staying. Consequently, I feel that my body has gone slightly wobbly, so going to step it up this month and pledge 20 sessions of Callanetics (a mix of 10/10 and Cardio C.)
Good luck everyone!

I'm in. Hello all! I'm new but I definitely would like to join the challenge. I'll do 10 hours for Jan. (this will fill in the gaps when I'm not working out with my BFF too)

I am in. I will try to do 10 hours this month ( 10/10 or cardiocallanetics).

Btw, I have reached the dress size of 8 (US) - almost halfway thru to my goal of 4!

Hello!

Hello! I'm new here to this forum -- I joined because of the Callanetics threads. I have been interested in starting for a while now but never had the chance; I plan on starting tomorrow as I just got my DVDs.

I'd like to join this challange if that's alright; do I just put a goal number of hours for the month of January?

If so, my goal will be 14 hours seeing as I plan on doing Callanetics every other day.

I only have the 10/10 DVD right now, I did order Super but I accidentally ordered a VHS!! Whoops... I'll start with 10/10, though, and at some point I'll buy the Super. I'm so excited!!

lori121- I searched them on youtube and found several. There is one whole set that has the titles in another language but the video is still in English.

Look on You Tube. That's where I watched the clips at to see what it was all about before I ordered the dvd's.

In for 13 Hours

I just started doing the 10/10 DVD last month and I'm loving it. I'll commit to 13 hours in January. I have been doing them every other day, but I'm resting my neck today - JM's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism kicked my butt...

January goal: 13 hours
to date: 2 hours done

Question: my neck continues to hurt doing the stomach exercises. Is it alright to hold my legs with my elbows out while pulsing, or would I be better off trying to reduce the amount that I curl up so I can keep my arms straight and hands by my hips? When I hold my hands behind my neck, it feels much better, but does this reduce the effect of the exercises?

Thanks and Good luck to all!

inertia6 -- I have the same problem as you! I find that my neck hurts a lot during the stomach exercises, and I really am trying to use my abs; I keep my chin tucked to my chest, yet my neck keeps on hurting. I would be so happy if anyone could answer this question! I, too, wonder if putting my hand behind my neck for support would reduce the effectiveness of the exercises? I seem to vaguely remember that in one of the videos she said it was ok to do, but i might just be making that up! :/
