I finished hour #4 on Saturday, and I completed hour #5 this morning, so 5 out of 13 of 10/10 down. (I bought SuperC too, but I must force myself to wait on it...)

Sandra - thanks so much for your help. All of the tips you've given us have really helped. I used a towel behind my back, and my neck feels much better doing the stomach exercises. I think I am having trouble relaxing my entire body, but I did a better job of that today. I am trying to slow down and not do too much or push myself too hard, as you instructed. Thanks again - it is wonderful to have you on this forum!

Good job to everyone else - you guys are amazing and inspiring.

Second workout: Toning part of CardioC. That's 1 full hour. It's slow, but I'm getting there!

How good of you to put it like that! I've been wondering what frustrates me. The troublemaker is my brain, not my body!

Oh NorthernLight...no truer words have been spoken!! My brain is a juvenile delinquent! My body has aged well (except for weight) and has much valuable experience, but my brain runs amok. It whines and makes excuses and rationalizes all sorts of misbehavior.

For Happyladi, part 2

In addition to rounding up, I had difficulty with heel up and over on the bar...belly got in the way. I KNEW I could stretch more but it was like I was resting on a beach ball.

Just do the best you can. When you get into the stretch, relax into it. You'll feel fantastic!

I was doing a low carb diet at the time and my body changed pretty rapidly. During the month of August people kept referring to me as the "Incredible Shrinking Woman".

Now I am trying to add carbs in. I do weight training in addition to Callanetics, so I have my carbs like brown rice or yams or whatever on lifting days.

I do the weight training so I don't lose muscle, and it helps shape my body, but Callanetics is what really made the difference in my lower body.

Hi Jigglebuster,

It does go thru stages. As you get stronger, some exercises become easier and you can use a more challenging position. some exercises get harder. I've been doing this for awhile and "rounding up" is still a challenge...but I had no strength at all in my abs when I started.

Has anyone experienced any back or side pain from these exercises? I did this program in my early 20s for a few years, 40 now and just starting. But the right side of my torso is pretty sore. I do some heavy lifting at my job, and am really struggling with that where I never did before. Just wondering if this is a matter of keep doing it, and stretch out, or if people have slightly injured themselves accidently doing these. I never had problems before...but obviously older

i found it really hard to fit in an hour of callanetics into my daily life, stupid as it may sound, i am a mum of two young children and am studying, so i have brought the 3 quick callanetics dvd, and have been alternating between the three,

so far i have done the quick callanetics hips and behind for 2 days in a row, now my bum is quite sore so will focus on the stomach today

wish i thought of this before, the quick dvds, as although 20 mins time flies but the pain is as though i have worked and hour on it.

Exactly! So I'm thinking it, and and my body is saying "Huh???"

However, with your help, I realised my brain was not thinking the right way either. Instead, I was secretly putting pressure on my body to do what it wasn't ready to do. Man I'm sneaky! Instead, I found just visualising, with the idea of 'it just is' as opposed to 'it has to be' and allowing the energetic part of the body to move, brings the physical body more into position, all the while breathing deeply, opening, relaxing and simply letting go. Doing this, I felt my (bent) legs were truly "like feathers" for the first time. It was really beautiful!

1 more hour last night : 4 hours
January goal: 13 of 10/10

I'll never do nights again though. I felt like it was interrupting my evening and I just wanted to get it over with. In the early mornings I can really just relax and get into it with no thoughts or people distracting me.

Just finished CardioCallanetics. Oh My! My arms would not extend gracefully for most of the 33 minutes. Got in another 10/10 before bed last night.

I fell off the callanetics wagon Did an hour here and there, but not consistently and I can tell I'm also stressed and I can feel neck and back tension so I'm going to get back into a routine. I'm in for 6 sessions the rest of the week. I've missed you guys and Callanetics - It has been a long time!

1 hour Evo completed! That's 8 hours to go...

Oh, one tip for you guys:
I just dimmed the lights and lit candles in the room while doing Evo. It felt like I wasn't exercising at all. (Though my belly feels it right now )

Jigglebuster I just saw your reply to my post TY for the info. I can definitely see where I will be improving a lot as I continue doing these exercises! Tonight I do my third hour. How many people do the Cardio Callinetics what are your thoughts?

happyladi,

I am nearly 300 lbs and almost 6 feet tall. I am walking on my treadmill one hour five days a week, and I am able to do Callanetics. The only real thing I struggle with is my form for the so-called "wonderful hip and behind exercises" (LOL). Also, I can't do all 100 stomach exercises of each set.

If I can do it so can you!
