Brand new to Callanetics. Plan to start tomorrow am. Will pledge to do it three times each week; 12 before the New Year. I hope I love it as much as the rest of you do! I'm excited and hopeful of getting great results.

Welcome Cheryl,

I love it. I remember once when I was on it heavy getting up out of bed at 3am to do an hour because I had skipped it earlier. Now to just keep at it until it becomes addictive again. Once you get the stretch going, it feels so good... it's amazing how hard those little movements work the muscles.

Hello everyone,

I would like to join in this month. I love Callanetics but have never done it consistently enough to let it work its magic on me. I am hoping this check in will help me be consistent.

My goal is to do at least 4 hours a week.

I did one hour of 10/10 this morning. I love that workout because it not only works my body but it makes me laugh. I always get giggle fits because it seems so funny that moving my leg a 1/2 inch is so hard!

Stacey

Hi Stacey

Can't say that it's ever made me laugh, but I remember smiling at what it does in my mirror

Thank you for the encouragement and the warm welcome! I have many aches and pains in my upper and lower back and hips (osteopenia, plus lugging around all this extra baggage,) and hope that I will alleviate some of my pain by all the stretching involved in Callanetics. Oddly enough, I think the toughest part for me will be to relax the parts I'm supposed to keep relaxed during the routine! I know it will be hard at first, but all good things are. I will take some "before" pics, to document the journey.

Also take your measurements... Callanetics is more about the tape measure than the scale They can be a lot more encouraging than the scale that will lie to you every chance it gets

I'm in for 15 hours this month

It's not easy to fit callanetics in my schedule as I am already getting up at 4.30 for my yoga practice but I will do my best this month

Hi I'm new here but I have been lurking for a bit. I wanted to wait to join the new challenge at the beginning of this month. I've already got 20 hours under my belt and my goal is another 14 this month. I can't believe how much I've fallen in love with Callanetics! I have done weight training type workouts (like Joyce Vedral) ever since I was 17 and started to get chubby (I am 23 now). That and dieting helped me get to the right weight, but I'm still out of shape in some areas (kind of a pear shape). Callanetics is really firming up some areas like my butt...err peach...that nothing else has seemed to help much other than making it bigger or smaller. Also I thought my stomach was fairly flat ( However, I was wrong after looking at my pictures, lol) but it is pulling in as well.

Besides all of that I have had some issues with my upper back/neck. That area had always been extremely tight and sore. It always felt like it was out of place and It caused my shoulders to hunch forward. It was a lot of effort to try to stand up straight. I was in pain everyday and taking a lot of ibuprofen. After the first few hours of Callan all that tension went away. It's completely gone now! I am so relieved, it's crazy! I can't say I look 10 years younger (and I wouldn't wanna look 13 anyway ) but I do feel much younger.

Also my boyfriend told me he thinks I have grown an inch . That's quite a compliment for me because I am really short. It must be improved posture!

I will try to post my progress pictures if I can figure it out. I took some at 12, 15, and 17 hours.

I highly, highly recommend Callanetics for a myriad of reasons, all of which have been stated before, but worth repeating:

A workout for all ages, all genders
No equipment necessary
Can be done anywhere, anytime
Promotes flexibility
Increases strength and endurance
Tones and builds LBM without bulk
Reduces fatigue
Helps alleviate (or diminish) aches and pains associated with back & knee issues
Improves posture
Improves sleep
Enhances sex life

Most people are beginning with the more updated version of the basic Callanetics program, "Callanetics Evolution." I began with 10 Years Younger in 10 Hours. They're similar, but Evolution offers more in depth instruction on concepts and fundamentals, which can be a plus.

Highly recommend talking her into this....she won't be sorry. The results are amazing.

I have several tapes, but I always go back to the Ten in Ten, because I know it works for me. Looks sooo simple when you first start it, but those 1/4 of an inch move can bring up a light sweat... and when it gets easier, there is always something you can do to the move (posture wise) to make it hard again.

When I want to lose inches, I know Callanetics won't let me down, if it doesn't happen, it's me, not the program.

Evolution done for #2.

I was definitely feeling the effects of doing Super C yesterday. It was a real struggle to finish Evo today but I feel so much better after completing it. I am so relaxed yet my body knows it worked hard. No other type of exercise does that for me. I love Callanetics!

Thank you for the welcome.

I did an hour of 10/10 today. I have done four hours since Sunday and I noticed after the first hour that I was standing taller. Last night I noticed that my bottom line has already lifted after only three hours! Hooray! Can't wait to see what I notice tonight.
