The leg lifts to the back are the hardest for me too. I can't lift very high either and my standing leg starts to hurt. I am interested in the answer you get as well.

I think that lifting the leg very high is not the point, the important thing is to feel that the buttocks are engaged, because it's exactly where you want to feel the muscle working, as long as you feel the muscle contracting (or getting in the way ) probably you are doing fine

By the way, you look absolutely fabulous in the toning part of the DVD. I love your physique! I hope mine would be like that one day! Do you do just the callanetics or do you supplement it with something else?
Ahhh, thank you  Other than sampling other exercises or DVDs my workout is Callanetics. I've never found anything else that I enjoy more

It's correct that you won't be able to lift the leg very high when it's to the back. It'll feel like your toes are kissing the carpet. This is due to the pelvic floor being engaged and the alignment of hips under shoulders. So well done

If you ever feel tension or pain in your low back while in this position check that you are stretched up enough or curl your pubic bone in to your navel.

While you are pulsing focus on continued lengthening up through crown of head and down through heel. Allow your leg to completely relax, heel hanging heavy. A maybe try pulsing with your pelvic floor as a variant and to trick muscles. I like to pulse the sit bone of the working leg inwards, so basically pulsing one side of the pelvic floor. Does this make sense to you

Stay lifted and perched up off the standing leg at all times. Check that you don't collapse down and put extra pressure on the leg. You will be strengthening the standing side also but do take breathers.

I like to focus on 'floating upwards' and lengthening down through the heel.

Sandra or Ben or anybody else: Has there ever been a thread just for questions about Callanetics form and techniques? I've been reading through all the monthly threads when I have questions and have found a ton of great advice, but was wondering if they've ever been consolidated anywhere where I haven't looked yet?

I think Noreen might have started one. I know she did one for the Pelvic Floor. One day I hope there will be a Callanetics website with a dedicated Forum just for Callanetics. That's the only way we could really have something nice and organised.

Bulletin boards aren't super hard to set up or maintain, are they?

Thanks Sandra. I will try that. I might have to take a few more breathers on the leg behind. I have noticed when I stretch out more with the front and side poses that I feel it more which is good.

I just got tracy anderson mat and love, love the arm section! Finally found what I was looking for a slimming arm toner! I need a little extra toning for my triceps and biceps- but get that by using smaller (no more than 5pds) weights in other workouts during the week. I tack her arm section onto other workouts too. if I feel the workout is not strong enuff for arms or will bulk me.

I've only done it 3xs but I burn, burn w/o bulk. Yayy!

Logging in 10 hours of 10/10, for the month of November. So far, lost almost 1/2 inch to 1 inch all over my body.

Happy Healthy Holidays everyone!

Where did you buy it at? I looked at Amazon and it was really expensive. I haven't looked on Ebay yet. I might have to Google it to find the best price. Okay I just googled it and it seems that 29.99 is the price. Someone has it Amazon for $116! Maybe I can get it for a Christmas present along with Cardio Callanetics.

Sandra,
I love the cardio callanetics but I really enjoy more just the toning part..is that good enough to do everyday, is it almost just as good as 10/10? Im just wondering since its not an hour..people count the hours they do but its not really an hour..I know 10/10 you see results in 10 what about this one? I tried to do 10/10 or super but they actually hurt my chest and back for the condition I have..and the toning in Cardio Callanetics does not at all...And thanks for being so helpful..

A friend lent it to me- but now I want the post-pregnancy workout and will have to fork over the 30 bucks for that one I heard it has awesome ab work.

#2 of 10/10... I had a hard time last week with motivation... need to find more time for here.

But even so, I lost 2.3lbs last week and with the exception of my upper arms, calves and waist, I lost .5 - 1" off of my Breasts, Chest, Stomach, Hips and Thighs... not sure what I did last week, but it was a good thing

Will there be a Dec challenge? I think for at least the first of the month I am pretty dang motivated. I'm bringing out the picture from last year's Christmas party!
