Trained for and ran a half or full marathon on induction?
Is there anyone out there who has done this?
Last year I ran a half and didnt stick to my LC plan bc all my friends talked up carbs etc. This year I would really like to get the last 20 lbs off but have noticed my runs feel better when I have had more carbs. I would like to hear from people who either lost weight while training for a long race and how they did it or people who successfully ran a marathon while LCing. My friends all swear by gu but I have never tried it - then again, around mile 20 maybe I will need it? I just dont know and as excited as I am to run my half and full this year I REALLY want to dump this weight... I appreciate any and all advice and/or ideas! TIA K

Everyone has a different opinion. Here's my take:
5 miles or fewer: Pure LC is fine. 5-15: Eat some carbs around run time, but make them "good" carbs. Whole wheat breads or higher fruit intake. 15+: Gatorade and Gu are fine starting at the 15 mile mark. You'll have to experiment. I'd be curious to know what works for you as I'm also experimenting. How far do you run now? |

Thanks Paul, this sounds "sound" to me.
Keep me posted on how you're doing and what you discover works for you! |
