So, like I posted yesterday, I was feeling strangely unmotivated to work out ... after having so looked forward to moving forward on the EA Active ... today I figured out why. Head cold. The kind that starts with a tingle in your throat and three hours later you've got the watery eyes, the runny nose, the fever, the chills, the works. Waah.
Hope the rest of you start July off with a bang! |

firefly, hope you recover quickly.Logging my 45min HIIT workout this morning - actually I need to revise this it takes longer than that now I've upped the number of intervals. I'm actually taking more like 1hr including yoga sunsalutations & stretches. Taking a work friend to modern jive dance class, she's too chicken to go on her own and bellydance is on school holiday break for 2 weeks. So I should be able to add a couple of hrs for that (2 classes + practise/free dancing time). I have the next 2 days off work so will be a bit absent I fear, trying to get on the PC @ home is next to impossible. Have a great couple of days I will try to check in in the mornings.

Hey Kids! It's Hump Day! I'm over the hump and finished my workout. Did an hour...flexibility today. I hope to really show some improvement this month.
Firefly...hope you feel better. Summer colds are the pits. Ozdancer...we'll miss you! Have fun at your class. Let's go everyone. We'll be hot, hot, hot in July! Carry on. |

Flying visit this morning to say hello and log both my dance class last night (2hrs) and lower body weight workout this morning (1hr).
I naughtily jumped on the scale this morning, going to visit Mum today and she will want to know how much I've lost so I wanted to be as accurate as possible . Down another 2.4lbs (1.1kg) which means it is now official that I have lost 20kg. |

I love the thread title, Lynn! I hope you see some results from all your hard work. I had to change it up a bit to kick things into gear again. How are you enjoying your summer off?
Firefly - bah, that stinks. I finished up the 7th workout tonight. It was lunges day. Boo. Ozdancer - WTG! That's some great weight loss and workouts. Modern dance sounds fun. I wish I had something close that offered classes like that but I live in the boondocks and have to drive 40 minutes just to get to a YMCA! Hi Dawn! |

Popping by... 30 min on MFC last night. Don't think I like the game though
It's too fast and I don't like the lack of feedback on whether I'm doing the stuff correctly. Wish I had spent the $$ and bought EA instead. |

You guys are all inspiring the heck out of me...too bad I ache too much to do anything but curl up and whimper. I am such a wuss! I used to have a personal trainer who said a cold was no excuse to skip a workout. I am really glad he's not around today.

Hi Kids!
I've been busy today. Got my workout in, but then it was go, go, go. I wonder if this is what July is going to be like? Did an hour of MFC...upper body. I'm going to be sore tomorrow. Being off sick, I know my muscles weren't ready for what I did today. Oh well, they'll (and I'll!) deal. Mommy2Girls - I'm sorry MFC isn't working for you. Personally, I love it. I've done lots of step and yoga and even Jazzercise in my time, so the moves are all fairly, hmmm, not easy, but I know how to do them. If I can't figure something out, I do the tutorial a few times til I get it right. I do know how you feel on some of the feedback though. I have my boys tell me if my position matches Maya's. Then it's just a matter of getting to know where the right position is. You know, if you hit the pause (the - on the Wiimote) you can decrease the difficulty. Maybe that will help. Carry on!

Lynn- I did not know that! That would help immensely! I'm not giving up yet, but I really love Wii Fit, so it's hard for me to try something new. I needed a harder workout but this level has been too hard for me
One other issue is that I have a broken tailbone and there's no place that I know of to ask the game to eliminate exercises I cannot do, like sit ups and crunches. Those would require me to put too much pressure on my tailbone. Any suggestions! BTW, I passed 40 lbs at my weigh in today!!!!

40 pounds? Awesome! You and Ozdancer are right there together. Great, great job.
I did 40 minutes of EA Active tonight. Finished up day 8 of the challenge and then added a custom workout with all of the sports. I'm glad tomorrow is a rest day. I'm tired. |

Hi ladies, everyone is doing well with their exercises. Mommy-2-girls
WOOHOO congrats on joining the 40lb club, great work.I managed my HIIT workout this morning, although I almost didn't bother just wasn't feeling it. I've been to the park with DD and the shops. Having a rest now before getting ready for work tonight. Tomorrow's workout will have to be a little later in the day as I'm taking DD to funsports as gymnastics is off for school holidays and it starts @ 8am. I'm feeling tired just thinking about it! ![]() |

I'm back with a Whoosh! Despite not having worked out in three days, I stepped on the scale to a 2.4 pound loss today -- a complete surprise. I felt so invigorated I did my EA Active right then and there. And I'm going to do a custom workout as soon as my husband finishes with his Mario Kart races (bah...no fitness there!)
We have a lot of recent milestones here in this group, myself included: Ally's Mom: 100 pounds == WOOT! Ozdancer and Mommy2girls: 40 lbs: == Yay! Ozdancer: 20kg == Even Better! Me: 30 lbs == Now 32, actually! Wyterayven, sorry you got the cold. If it's the same strain I had, it only lasts about 3 to 4 days. I hope yours goes even sooner.

Friday, it's Friday! Hi Kids!
Did my 60 min MFC today...core focus. Dang but she's all about those stupid side crunches. Underneath the fat I bet I have abs of steel! Ha! Look at you all go with the whooshes and the losses! I'm so impressed with you all. Makes me want to get on the scale....nah. I'm boycotting that instrument of the devil. We are doing lots of home improvement projects this weekend...fixing the deck, putting in an attic fan, painting a bathroom...not to mention all the regular stuff what needs doing. Happy 4th of July!!! (and Happy Saturday to you Ozdancer)
I'm busier than a one armed paper hanger today. Did a quick 30 minute Yoga on MFC to get some kind of workout it and to "balance" myself. Not to mention I'm really sore from all the crazy contortions I had to do yesterday to paint the bathroom. Not fun. But it looks great! Now I have to put it all back together. Heh. Carry on kids! |

Lynn -- you are indeed a busy one, fitting in a workout with all those projects. How's the attic fan turning out? I hear those can make a dramatic difference when the temperatures go down outside at night (and the hot air usually stays trapped inside.)
I am BACK on the Wii wagon! I did Day 3 and 4 of the EA 30 day yesterday and today, and I did an additional custom workout today before my official July 4 Challenge weigh-in. My goal was to reach ONEderland, and I'm still just about a pound away, but I did lose about 12 pounds, so I'm pretty happy, factoring in the cold and all. To those of us in the US of A, Happy Fourth of July! It's a great day for low carb carnivores. Gonna hike in to Lake Murray ('cause you can't find parking for miles around) tonight to show my little girl some "sparkles." |

Hey fireflyfaster - since you missed a scheduled workout in the 30 day challenge, what happened? I'm wondering if the calendar just picks up where you left off? or did it keep moving ahead on schedule? For example, if you missed workout 3 and 4 but you started back on the regularly schedule workout 5 day, did it have you do #5 or did it have you do #3 (like you did)? I almost missed today's and just wondered what would have happened.
Oh and 12 pounds??? AWESOME! You'll be in ONEderland in no time. Have fun seeing the sparkles. My DD is almost 21 months and we just bought some spark fountains and she loved it (after the smoke dissipated anyway!) Lynn - that Yoga section on MFC is HARD! I remember thinking one night that I'd do yoga because it was easier. Yeah right. It just about killed me! Tomorrow's EA Active workout is 1/2 way through my 30 day challenge. I know I can do it! |

Checking in. Still pretty sick, and havent managed a workout at all.
Am planning to try tomorrow...which will be interesting, since it exhausts me just to put on clothes. Still on plan...though that has been a real struggle. I am having some real problems with cravings...I am really wanting all the bad things I see in our house (DH is not on a diet so we have a lot of stuff that tempts me) but I am really wanting pasta or potatoes..I think it is that those are comfort foods to me and are really appealing since I dont feel well.

Dawn, hope you feel better soon. Don't push too hard, recover first then go hard core with the exercise .Firefly - well done on 12lbs and fingers crossed for onederland, can't you just taste it? Lyn - now you are making me tired reading your schedule. Talk about making the most of your holidays. :hi: Allysmom Sorry I've been MIA lately, had a pretty busy weekend. Worked at the football Friday night and took DD to funsports class early Saturday so didn't have time to come here & let you now my weigh in results . I'm down 1.3kg (2.8lbs) this week - WOOHOO! Hope I can keep up this pace for a few weeks at least, but I know a slow down is imminent. I've doubled some of my upper body weights too so this week I should build some more muscle. Planning on doing the heavier weight for my lower body workout this week too.I've added Saturday's upper body weights workout (1hr) and this mornings HIIT workout (1hr) to my sig. That's all I've got time for today as I'm training a new person @ work so gotta fly. I am only here 2 days this week, then the rest of the week off & probably won't be on-line for most of this week. Will try to at least check in when I can. Have a great week and everyone KUTGW. |

I'm entering this thread late. I've been keeping up with my Wii exercises ... although I've been doing more Wii Fit than Personal Trainer lately.
Still ... I've lost a total of 17 lbs ... and am still enjoying the workouts. I'm not doing nearly as many hours per day as some of you ... but I'm pleased with my results and I'm able to work a good 30 to 45 minutes in 5 days a week. Hope that those of you who have been sick are feeling better really soon. Hi to everyone else. Mary |

It's Monday again Kids!
I didn't check in yesterday, busy putting the bathroom back together and getting all our projects cleaned up. I did manage a 15 minute yoga. Today was my physical challenge - no real progress to date...but I really overindulged during the long weekend. Too much good food. Back to salads today. I also did a 45 min workout...focus was upper body. Oh! And I'm now a "gold" cup whatever. I got a new music: house (which is really lame) and a new workout place: Caribbean paradise (pretty!). I plan to really try and show some progress this month. Allysmom - I agree about the yoga...it can be hard. I really have to watch the tutorial first and then really listen the first time through. The yoga flows are cool once you get them. And you do sweat! Dawn - Hope you are feeling better! Firefly - The attic fan is the bomb diggity (as my 16 yr old would say). I was actually cold last night! And just to clarify, this is just a fan that blows the hot air out of the attic, it doesn't pull air through the house (the hubs calls that a whole house fan). Oz - Where are you? I can't see you? You are getting so tiny! You go!hpjrt - You are doing a great job! Pop in any old time and keep us updated. You go girl! Mommy2girls - re: doing crunches. I think a good alternative might be the "plank". The following was cut/pasted from another site: ...an alternative to crunches on the floor is the plank exercise. The plank exercise is a popular yoga move that has crossed over into fitness. The plank is an isometric exercise balancing on your elbows and toes. Isometric simply means that you hold one position for 10-60 seconds. The plank is great for developing core stability, and it will strengthen your abdominals, shoulder girdle, and hip girdle. Maybe that would work for you. Allrightee Kids, I'm out. Carry on! |

Hi Ladies, checking in. Thank you all for the well wishes.
I think I am on the upswing...I still feel crappy, but not as crappy as I was over the weekend. I did manage my hour on Wii this morning. It was difficult, and wasnt nearly as energetic as I usually am...but I'll get back there. And even being sick and with no workouts since Thursday, I still lost 3.8 pounds over the week, so pretty darn good. |

WOOHOO congrats Dawn that's a great weekly loss, although being sick isn't the nicest way to get there.
Mary, great to 'see' you. Pop in as often as you like. Flying visit again today. Recording 1hr lower body weights workout this morning. Starting to feel strong now I've increased some of the weights I'm using. |

Tuesday Kids, our week is well on it's way.
Did 15 min. of yoga today. After my physical challenge I re-worked my workout schedule. I just can't do 60 minutes every day. I'm trying, but it doesn't always workout. I adjusted my schedule to what "Maya" recommended. She wanted me to do 5 days at 15 min with 2 days off. I went with 5 days of 60 min and 2 days at 15. The two 15 min days will be yoga. I'm really enjoying doing the yoga flows. Mommy2girls - and anyone else doing MFC; I totally forgot that you can add outside exercise into the program! Example: I was finishing up my 15 min of yoga today and I asked the husband if he wanted me to leave it on for him. He said, "Can't I add my run from today?" In the first menu there is an option called 'Get Workout Credit'. Click on that and you can add in exercise from a variety of things, the next menu lets you add the time, the last the day. I really like that last option. I know you can get extra credit on WiiFit, but you have to add it in on the day you did it. This one lets you put in yesterdays! Or last Friday! Tres Cool. Carry on! |

Hi Dawn, Oz, Lynn and all of you; good work everyone, especially Wyterayven, getting back on track after being so sick and losing so dang much weight for the week.
I'm sitting here with about 10 hours of client work to do and four hours before I have to pick up my daughter from grandma and grandpa's...wondering if I can justify trading out some of that work time for a workout. Yes, it's taking care of myself, but being behind on work is a major stress for me. Tough call. Well, back to one grindstone or another! J |
