Can I ask a question about dieting whilst doing Callanetics? Im currently doing Callanetics and not really dieting but im thinking of starting to restrict my carbs. Do you think this will make any difference to the results I am getting with Callanetics?

Also, I notice that a few of you are mentioning that you are eating 'clean'. What exactly does this mean please?

Many Thanks!

I gotta tell you, tho...I did a class on Sunday, and today is Tuesday and I am STILL SORE! Yikes!

But it's a good sore. And I swear, I can feel myself pullling in. The last time I took a class was in April, so it was about a 3 month break. Hoping my body remembers and I can lose some inches fairly quickly.

Ellen - *my body loved me for it* - that is soooooo true!! I would LOVE to take a class. Unfortunetly, nobody around me even knows what Callanetics is!

Tuesday - Cardio day - Took a 15 minute walk in the afternoon and then in the evening I did Jillian's 30 day shred Level 1 - it's as hard as I remembered it. I also did the PM callan workout.

Wednesday - I did 10 minutes on the ellptical this am. Did the AM portion of the am/pm workout. Will do the Pm portion tonight and add in some portions from the evolution workout.

Next week I am going on vacation - so I am trying to be diligent with my workouts and eating - I think eating is the harder part for me!

I did the 30 day shred level 1 last night. Do you like BL's Cardio Max better?

I have had more than one person ask me what it is. I either show them or send them a You Tube link.

Is there an FAQ?

I just started Callanetics again after a 3 month hiatus.

I forget now, is 3 x a week the minimum to see change?

Thanks.

10/10 Done 3 hours so far. -lost 1/2 inch on upper arms already! (Didn't expect results so fast) hope I've measured properlythough. Did check a few times but can't quite believe it!

Was also wondering whether callanetics helps slim legs/thighs down...?

For the pelvic exercises, sometimes my legs feel like they're shaking uncontrollably, is this normal and should I reduce the repititions if this happens?

10/10 - 3hrs total

I found this poem online. Thought it might make everyone smile!

A TOAST TO CALLAN

One day while undressing
I let out a yelp
My body was dropping
I needed help!

Bulging and cellulite
Clothes couldn't hide
I started to panic
Then tried exercise

Yoga, gymnastics
A flying trapeze
Stretches and crunches
And bending my knees

But my hips got no smaller
My waist wasn't thin
My only beauty
Came from within

Then along came a gal
With a shape so fantastic
Her body was firm
And her muscles elastic

She studied me sadly
And before I could speak
She offered to teach me
Her method unique

She said there was hope
For my thighs that were sagging
My boobs that were drooping
My butt that was dragging

She swore if I worked hard
I'd soon look like she did
Her specialized movements
Were just what I needed

She guided me expertly
It was amazing
Within a short time
My whole body was raising

Now I'm trim and ecstatic
My whole life has changed
If it weren't for Callan,
I'd be deranged!

I haven't been around but am still do my work outs. In June I started callanetics and finished 4/10. I have now finished my first 10 sessions of the 10/10 video( 6 of them in July) and a A.M. P.M. session (in July). I guess that could be called 7 hours out of the 13 I was aiming for in July.

I feel great...now to catch up on some reading.

Callanetics Frustration

Hi All!

I'm new to your board, but I've been reading the posts for a few weeks about Callanetics. Amazingly, I'm 38 years old and I have never heard of Callanetics before! Where have I been?

Anyways, I've done about 3 hours of Callanetics Evolution and maybe 2-3 sessions of CardioCallanetics and I'm really frustrated because I can't seem to activate the pelvic floor and do the exercises AT THE SAME TIME.

I can activated my pelvic floor when reading the boards, or watching TV or driving. (If that's what I'm actually doing anyways. ) But when I try to exercise and do the pelvic floor, it's hopeless. So then I get frustrated because if I'm not doing it right, then the whole process won't be effective and I won't get the results that you guys are getting.

I'm feeling the stretches where I need to be feeling them, and most times I can feel the muscles working that are suppose to be working, but it's that darn pelvic floor thing that's driving me crazy. I need help. I've got a 20 year high school reunion coming up in 4 weeks that I would like slim down for. Do Callanetics still work even if you're not doing it 100% right?

Thanks for any and all advice.

P.S. Anybody in Denver, Colorado who know if there are any Callanetics classes available? Thanks!
