Hi Everyone,

I was away for the holiday weekend and now I am back.

I have been keeping up with walking and callanetics.

so far for July I have done 2 lower body and 1 full (10/10). Trying to do callanetics every other day.

I have to say I like Evo much better than 10/10 as I think it is put together better and keeps flowing, doesn't stop to show pics or anything. I don't mind seeing the pics but not every session.

I am thinking about getting the cardio one.

Rhonda

Did Evolution for 3/12. I was so tired this a.m. and almost talked myself out of it but now I feel energized and relaxed.

Hoping to get Cardio C (cardio portion only) done at lunch.

Popping in to say hey to newbies and all others. I've been incredibly busy since returning from vacation, little time to post, but wanted to welcome and encourage all the newbies to keep with your program/commitment....lots of integrity in this workout...and share your progress often.

Hi everyone!

I've been doing Callanetics regularly for the past six weeks. I've been trying to do it three or four times a week - alternating btw. 10/10 and Super. I'm slowly seeing changes in my body. Things are shifting around and for some reason my arms look a lot slimmer. (an area I didn't expect any change!). I'm also finding Callanetics is a great compliment to running. I can tell my running has improved from doing Callanetics in terms of speed, endurance, and stamina.

I have a question regarding the dvds. I'm debating whether to get Evolution. What is the difference btw. Evolution and 10/10 and Super? Is there a breakdown listed somewhere that I can look at? Should I get it? (LOL) I'm only looking at getting Evolution to add more variety. I also have the Callanetics book which is very good and gives excellent details and illustrations.

Thanks!
Glenda

I originally had the 10/10 and the am/pm workouts and recently just bought the evolution dvd. I like them all. Evolution is nice because they have 3 people doing the workout at 3 different levels - begginning, intermediate and advanced. Also, if you go on youtube, you can preview a bunch of the callanetics workouts.

Glenda, you're right, Callanetics compliments many other avenues of training; I've discovered that as well.

I agree with Jaminator on her comments re Evolution. I would add to that, the concepts are more fully explained/demonstrated in Evo than in the other two, and learning and implementing those concepts, making ourselves aware of those as we train, makes a HUGE difference in the results and the muscle response.

Hello!
I've been thinking about restarting Callanetics for ages and have been lurking on her for a while getting some inspiration. I've also considered becoming an instructor (there aren't many in Australia) but I'm going to make a success of myself first. I've got a few goals to meet (friend's weddings, etc) and can't wait to be checking my reflection in shop windows for a good reason for a change!

Ok, so the whole thing at once, wow, I couldn't even make it through the stomach one, but I guess I just need to do it through at my own pace.. I have a problem taking my chin to my chest and rounding because im so big in the chest once I lay down I about give myself a black eye Im afraid im going to smother myself.. ok mabey it isn't that bad, but It is hard to do the rounding thing I don't feel like I can do it. my neck starts hurting really bad cause its so tense trying to get it to round. Ok well I finally got my 8cups in.. it isn't so bad drinking it like tea. Ok so tomorrow ill start counting i won't count yesterday ok so now a goal.

I guess..Ok so ill try for the 10 hours this month. eeekkk. wish me luck.

Lori P, I think that the best thing to do is to try to make it through the whole video even if you can't do all the reps. So if you can do, say, 50 reps, do those and move on to the next exercise.

I was a bit lazy this morning and tired. I ended up sleeping in a bit and only had time to do the leg segments and 1 set of abs from Evolution. I was hoping to get in some cardio then Evo but it didn't work out that way.

Did the 4th hour today, but I feel that my bad mood today really got my motivation down. I feel like I'm going to look the way I do forever.... I am so inflexible too, and I'm only 18 too. Argh!!!

however, as I put my jeans on this morning... gosh I felt the difference! They were so easy to slip on over my hips. I measured them afterwards and I have lost almost an inch!

Hi there.
I am also working from the old book as well as the 10/10 VHS. In the book it says that when you're asked to HOLD for the count, (i.e. no pulses) you should be counting in your head one thousand... two thousand.. three thousand to get the timing right.
Each pulse counts as a count. It is better to do them in your own time rather than follow a clock as your focus should be on the movements.

Ok I will that sounds better than having to do all the reps.

Hi all! I just recently started Callanetics, and just found this place today so figured I'd join in (if I may) :-) Seeing as it's already the 9th I figured I'll make my goal for 19 hours. So basically an hour a day besides Sundays...we'll see if I can keep up with that!
