Thanks, I was wondering this also. I have a dress that I want to get into by the 24th of July. It fits but it has buttons and I hate when you sit and the fabric opens - I want to try and avoid that! I think if I can lose about 5 lbs or a couple of inchs - it will be more wearable.

Did one 10/10 saturday. Was aiming for CardioCallanetics today, but I'm very tired so I'll probably let it slide

Been sick for a few days & I hate how I can't function properly ! Can't even exercise even though I'm dying to...

I still have to do a proper intro, but it can wait. I'll bore you some other time
*is off to bed*

Have a good day/night ^^

Ugh...I just took some "before" pics (though technically I've done four sessions of the original video, so not a complete before, but you get the idea.) I just have to say that those pictures of my backside are scary. I'll take more pics after 15 hours and if I am feeling very very brave, I'll post them here. Ugh (this was a double 'ugh' experience!)

I noticed that you are a certified Callanetics teacher and I have a question for your or whoever else might be able to answer it.

I was wondering how long it takes to tone the arms and if you think that I should do weights along with callanetics. I have about 23 lbs to lose - so I alternate, one day callanetics and one day cardio.

Thanks,
Michelle

Which Callanetics DVD are you using? To be honest the original ones don't have much upper body work in them. The new CallaneticsEvolution DVD has some exercises that are great for the arms and the upper body in general. So if that's your target area definitely check out the new DVD. The push-ups in it are the best. Most of us hate doing them but they tone the arms really fast, lift the bust and strengthen the back and stomach. If you do those you don't even need to use weights. You can use your own body weight to get the results.

HI Michelle

You should see a difference in your arms pretty quickly. You can also add some light weights for the exercise. Which DVD are you using?

If you're not working with the new DVDs add some push ups to your workout. You can do this initially on your knees with ankles crossed. Make sure you keep your abs drawn in to protect your back. Start with maybe ten or more if you can and work upwards to 30-50.

Another point; In Evolution we incorporate a 4th counterpull which lies between the shoulder blades. Counterpulls are points that lengthen away from each other to create tautness in our muscles - like a guitar string!

Keeping the shoulders blades permanently eased down to the hips and widened out to the side while you train as well as during day to day activities, will also help to tone the arms...and upper back!

Many of us use our shoulders to move our arms and this weakens the arms and they lose tone.

Another point: don't force the shoulders down just relax them down...wax dripping down to the floor.

Thank you planet benjamin and sandrahanna for your replies. I do have the Callanetics Evolution DVD - but not the Cardio Callanetics. I will focus on using evo as my main callanetics workout. Thank you for the great advice!

Hi I'm new to this site. I am happy to find, it is very inspirational. I have had multiple major abdominal surgeries and I have an injured back. I am going to try Callenetics to strengthen my abs and back and of course to get back into shape.

I am going to work slowly. I will try to do twice a week. Finding you guys will really help me keep going. Thanx much

1 hour of serious resistance, but still completed 10/10.

I like the accountability of Callanizing in the am, but find it much easier to relax into it in the evening.

[QUOTE=Sandrahanna;12173715]Hi and

The upside is, if you persist and keep your workouts close together you see a difference in your body shape very quickly. Many see a big difference after 10 - 15 sessions and have dropped a dress size.

This is sooo true - I haven't been able to do Callanetics for almost a week now and I can almost feel my body sagging back out of shape...
Anyway just wanted to register that I'm in for 15 of 10:10 again this month.
1/15 complete!

New...:)

Hello everyone,

Just joined and am already inspired by all you lovely people. I've done 10/10 before...once. At the time I was surprised at how easy it was, but really felt it the next day! Now trying to get back on it.

I'm not looking to lose weight, just sorta tone up and shape up my body, and callanetics seems to be a good way of doing so. My problem area is my legs; and fat is starting to spread into my tummy and hips. I was wondering how quick(well, it's different from person to person I've gathered, but an estimate?) the results usually are? I'm UK size 10, trying to get back to 6/8. The thing is, my legs have ALWAYS been my problem area, so I've sorta given up hope...

I think my main problem is food. xD And lack of exercise this year; used to be really active. I've read through some threads, and I've heard cardio will help speed up results, but if I just do callanetics will I still see results? Will also try and eat clean lol. x)

Thanks, hope to hear from you. =)

Just did the toning part from CardioCallanetics. It feels sooo good.
I don't know if I should count today session as one hour, I did only half of the dvd after all, and I don't want to cheat to reach my goal...

As for introducing myself : I'm 25, French, living in Brittany (the cutest region in France !).
I came across Callanetics in December 08. I was doing research on the web about erasing saddlebags, finding very little to help me except the old dear "you need to accept your shape & let it go" which I'm completely unable to do thank you very much, when I found someone's testimony on Callanetics.
The woman was saying it was the ONLY thing that actually made a difference in her saddlebags area, and in the end was able to completely changed her body shape. Of course I was hooked. ^^

I tried the 10 in 10, laughed at loud the first time I saw the outfits, actually huffed and puffed when doing the exercises, and figured Callanetics was not that easy to do, specially as my leg on the hip and behind exercise wouldn't even lift...
It really felt hard to do, I couldn't properly relaxed, probably wasn't doing the exercise in good form, and therefore wasn't seing results.
I stopped after less than a month feeling pretty depressed...

I kept on exercising, trying different programms (The Shred is probably the only one I saw fast results with, but not exactly how and where I wanted), sometimes coming back for a Callanetics session but never sticking to it. I searched through the web again, find this place, read the threads about the callanetics and slowly familiarize myself with the concepts (specially the pelvic floor thingy).
Gave a new try to the 10 in 10 but trying to use the advices I read in the threads. And finally, Callanetics stopped feeling so foreign. I felt like I actually *knew* what I was doing for once.
Dit it faifthfully last month, three to four times a week, and finally decided to buy Callanetics Evolution & CardioCallanetics DVDs so I could mix it up a bit, because let's be honest, Callan tends to be boring after doing 10 in 10 for a while

I'm hoping this thread and all the nice people in here will help me keep motivated. I have seen results in the last month (a huge improvement in celullite ! and my back stopped hurting ! ) and am feeling very good, but I still can't see anything happening in my problem area...
I know I'll get discouraged and might stop everything if I don't find a way to be accountable for myself. I hope a challenge might do the trick.

On the motivation side, would you mind share some success stories with me ? I'd love to hear about people succeeding in erasing their biggest problem areas. Cause sometime I can't help but feel it's hopeless. I know it's silly when you didn't really let yourself time for a change, but still
Any advice would be very welcome too !

Thanks for reading me

Hi

I had huge saddlebags back in the late 70's that were attached to booty that carried everyones junk around. When I lost weight and lost big booty I still had saddlebags and hated how I looked in pants without tights underneath.

Callanetics is the only method that was able to eliminate the saddlebags. So, don't lose faith Review the CallaneticsConcepts regularly until you have understanding of them and apply them to every exercise and stretch.

When practicing the exercise for saddlebags keep lengthening the leg out of the hip socket and ensure that the muscles of the leg are thoroughly stretched as you pulse. You'll know when you've reached your peak or best position as the muscles in the leg will start to vibrate.

Good luck and check in here every day for motivation and encouragement and ask any questions you may have.

Happy Pulsing

Hey yall, ok I got my 10/10 in today and my mom came over cause she is low cal in it. We did all the warm ups. But how are yall countin your time. Is each one a certain time or do I have to watch the clock. Do you try and do the whole dvd at once and if not how do you do it? Im a little confused.

Menu for today was this
B: 3 scrambled eggs 3 slices bacon 2 c coffee
L: 2c iceberg letuce, 1/2 stick celery, bacon fried for bacon bits (1 slice) 2 tbls ranch
S: Hamburger pattie w/1tbls mayo & mustard 1/2 c cottage cheese

this was 20 carbs
im snacking on a jalapeno cheese stick wich has 0 carbs im trying to get down my last cup of water to have 8 for the day. I am so not a water person. yuck.
