I start a new thread because if newbees are looking to join a group they hate to have to read a zillion pages to catch up.

Its a new start for a new month and hopefully some new friends

I Team Animaled. Knee is still a bit sore so I went easy on the weighted lunges and such. We did a lot of mat stuff tonight. Blech. Gross sweaty mat LOL.
But I feel much better than before I went. I just wish we still had our morning class. I have so much energy now. I'm gonna be up all night again.

FOUND YA'LL!!!

After work today I went to the....

Y*M*C*A!!! It's fun to go to the Y*M*C*A!!!

I signed up for swim lessons; which seems ludacris as I have been swimming all my life. But I hope to learn proper technique in the classes.

Then I did the body sculpting class which was hand weights, resistance bands, and abs. It was actually less and easier than what I do at home with Kathy Smith.

Then I swam 8 some laps in the pool; incorrectly of course. I'm am compulsive frog kicker.

Then I tried the sauna and the steam room; then I showered.

Swim class is at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I'll have time to do the body sculpting class or just use the machines before the swim.

Tomorrow is bright and early rise and shine running!!!

Let's see new month new goals....

Work harder on abs
Add swimming
Increase running distance to 4 miles
More bike rides

I wondered the same thing about the colors. I finally removed the color codes from my siggy.

I got up at 4 a.m., walked my dog 20 min, ran 3.7 miles, then did 10 min boot camp abs.

I did Gilad this a.m. at 5:30 and walked for an hour at 6 with a friend. Funny thing though, my friend is several inches shorter than me and is more bottom and top heavy than me so she tends to lean forward due to the weight on top. I have tried to gently tell her to straighten up or take shorter strides. Of course, our stride lengths vary because I am taller.

I wonder if she is trying to keep up with me by lengtheneing her stride instead of taking more steps? Anyways, we walk at a pretty fast clip but she is breathing much harder than I, but we can talk so it isn't too fast. But, I am hardly breathing hard at all because I am in better shape. But, I find this happens even when I am walking by myself. I can't seem to walk fast enough to feel like I am getting an adequate cardio workout. I am not going to run due to a knee problem (I had a torn cartiledge removed per scope in Mar.)

When I walk on a treadmill (boring, and only used as a last resort or in the winter) I can get my heartrate up on it still walking. Maybe I need to learn how to racewalk.

Vicki can you walk hills???? Were I live that is all we have here in WV... IT is a good cardio workout. In the winter I use the TV to keep me from getting bored and always walk on an incline.

Sorry, I guess that sounds strange if you don't know. "Team Animal" is a mixed martial arts gym. I attend an adult conditioning class there 3x a week. We do weighted workouts, mat work, running, etc. It used to be a morning class with only women. but that ended up being just me and 1 other woman so they asked us to incorporate into the 5:30 class. It's still a kick butt workout. But I sure miss the girls only time!

apparently people were using the light colors to put things in their siggies that could not be read easily and were against tos.

That sounds like a good plan. I need to get back on track with my exercise too BeThin! I think I'll join ya. I'm going to see if I can run again. If not, it'll be a walk around the block.

Hills, hills ????? In my state? Ha, no just kidding. But, there really aren't any hills on any of my walking routes here in town. But, thanks for the suggestion.

What's happening for events in your neck of the woods, Mel? Big time fireworks? Bonfire extravaganzas?

On Saturday, there will be about a million people at the Hatch Shell here in Boston to watch the Boston Pops.

Maria- I get a workout just reading about all the things you accomplish in a day. You really do a good job with your workouts.

Mel-If your husband tries to take your DVD player you could practice boxing on him.

Barb- I can barely haul my own butt on a back. No way could I tow anyone.

I've walked 6 miles daily for three days. I really wanted to start a running program but the weather was so nice out that I didn't want to be holed up in my basement. I really need the outside air for a mental pick up.

I really need to do strength training....that is the story of my life.

Mel, I hope you had fun last night.
Barb, Team Animal sounds interesting.

This morning I did Slim in 6 Burn It Up. I like varying my workouts. The previous two days I had walked with a friend and I usually don't like to do the same thing two days in a row, but I need to be flexible with her schedule. She is going to be gone now for two weeks or so.

6 miles is a LOT Val! Good job!!

Vicki, Burn It Up is my LEAST favorite of any of the Slim videos. Good for you getting through that one!

Happy belated Canada Day Mel!

Not sure what I am doing today. I have Team Animal tonight. Working on breakfast, then I'll see if it's raining again I may break out a video.
House could use a deep clean. But I'm not feeling that happening
