ali!

I have to ok to use the treadmill again as long as it doesn't bother my knee! I can do most anything other than a couple of quad exercises now. The knee is still sore and I doubt if it will get much better but it's good enough to do more activities. The dr. wants me to take a joint supplement to protect the knees so I'll be getting that today.

I have had some other inflammation problems in both knees but I think I narrowed down what the cause is....I have to give up all sodas....first I thought it was the aspartame sweetened diet soda but it still happened to a lesser degree with the splenda sweetened drinks. So it's just water for me now....I didn't drink a lot of soda but enough to cause problems....

As for exercise, I haven't had much the last few days....babysitting, company, chores, etc. and no time to squeeze in a workout...I'm going to go today for some cardio....might even do the treadmill!

Linda, glad to hear from you and hope the knee will get better enough for you to do whatever you can.

Yesterday, I watched Michael's videos in the morning before a hair appointment. I am so sick about his passing away. I am a super fan. . . but we can't live forever . . . he was just too young for this.

This morning, I walked 35:03 mins, 2.13 miles, 412 cals. Have a nice weekend!

Today I did and aerobic/toning class. Great workout.

Hope you all had a good weekend. We had a friend over from the States and had lots of laughs.

Happy Monday !

I got in a quick workout today (not what I wanted to do but, I refuse to sit idle today).

30 min. on treadmill ( I didn't put in my weight information on the treadmill so I was unable to track my calories).

Aerobics for me, didn't feel quite as bouncy as I sometimes do, maybe because I did a late afternoon class yesterday.

Still it is done and I did enjoy it.

Yesterday was 20 minutes on the cross trainer and upper body weights....today was 20 minutes each on the cross trainer and the bike along with some lower body weights. I had a short talk with the trainer guy about some of the things we can get extra bonus points for during this Biggest Loser challenge. There are 15 things listed and I've already done 2 of them....I think I get do almost all of them!

Good morning, TM Buddies - hoping that you had a wonderful weekend!

Here's my workout:

Friday, 7/3/09 - 40:01 mins, 2.34 miles, 432 cals.

Sat and Sun - rest days - spent time with Hubby as he always works weekends - this is his first weekend off in 20 years . . . he works with transit so he finally was able to get weekends off now (other than when on vacation or sick). Don't know how long that will last though, as he has to pick scheduling every six months or so - I hope he'll be able to get it again next pick.

Today, 7/6 - 40:03 mins, 2.48 miles, 418 cals. (walked slower speed)

Have a great day!

Our big family picnic to introduce DIL to some of the extended family was Saturday...we had about 70-75 people here! Good thing we have a big yard! The weather was decent, the food was delicious and everyone had a great time!

I didn't do any "official" workouts but was busy for 3 days....preparing, hostessing and cleaning up so I got lots of movement!

Today I went to do upper body weights and some bike time...felt good to go!

Good morning, TM Buddies,

This morning I worked out to Shaun T's Hip Hop Abs for 30 mins (Fat Burning Cardio). Yesterday, I accompanied hubby to the doctor as he was in pain - he has a slipped disc - and cannot sleep. So, since he will be hanging out in the family room where the TM is, I will be working out to my dance DVD upstairs in the mornings this week, so that he can rest.

Good job, Linda and Ladylove!

Have a gr8 day everyone and I will be checking in!

I had hoped to go get some elliptical time today but the truck is full of lawn care equipment that I need to take to town for DS to use to do the yard at his apt. building and I don't want to leave it sitting in a parking lot....so I'll be doing a yoga dvd in a few minutes.

Question for you ladies: Do any of you use the stationary bike? Do you burn alot of calories ? Here's why I'm asking... yesterday (and on other instances I have used the stationary bike) I noticed that although I was pedaling at a good speed I was getting miles in but, not necessarily burning a lot of calories.

I'm not sure if I should not expect to burn much here or up maybe to a different level like 4 or 5.

Any thoughts?

LadyLove, I use a regular bike on a training stand at home so I don't know about how many calories I burn but it's a good workout because I set it on the hardest level and go for 30 minutes...

I've never checked calories burned on the ones at the gym because I'm more interested in miles than calories burned. I pay more attention to my average speed to be sure I can get the miles I need each time.

Today was weights....not sure if I'll do any cardio or not....I have chores that still need doing instead...

Thanks Linda !!!! I appreciate your input and I think I may start to look more at how many miles I can put in on the stationary bike and not worry so much as to how many calories burned.

Today I did ...

35 min. on Treadmill
2.0 miles
240 calories burned

Later today... I'm going to do lower body legwork

TM Buddies!! Happy Friday!

Today, I worked out with my Hip Hop Abs Fat Burning Cardio DVD - 30 mins. Hubby is still out of commission with his back and the left leg is giving him grief. Could this be more than a slipped disc?
