Yeah this thread is still alive and kicking.
Another strange thing I found...working your home's yard...here after called Yard X, can really be a decent workout. I know that I'm just trying to get the work done, but depending on time of day, you can really workup a good sweat. |

Happy MOnday!
Rcagle: So you've got Insanity and jumped right in have you? Sounds wonderful! Let me know how it goes. Bamm: Working in the yard, whether it be raking, mowing or what have you, can really work up a sweat for sure. Dystany1 : Welcome! Glad you've joined us! Really feeling it in my shoulders today after doing Chest/Shoulders/Triceps yesterday. Hope I didn't pull anything. I'm too close to the end of round 2 to be sidelined at this point...lol. Plyo tonight! ![]() Last edited by H20Goddess; 07-20-2009 at 10:18 AM.. |

Hey Everyone! Sorry to be away so much lately. Been doing tons of things for work and all so the posting, both here as well as the beachbody site, have had to take a little bit of a back seat.
I'm in my first recovery week of round 3. I received INSANITY several days ago. It'll be for round 4. The thing looks like a novel, they wasted no money on the DVD holders. I have tremendously enjoyed my hybrid so far. I can tell that 4-5 days in between upper body resistance days instead of the traditional P90X 7 days has taken things to a new level. During Chest and Back this past Friday I set a record for me of 460 push-ups total in varying positions. Can't wait to get to Phase 2, although the recovery is definitely needed at this point. (Not that the workouts are a traditional P90X recovery week set, but I am going about 80% max instead of pushing 100% like normal. Upper Body X+ at 80% is still a killer.) |

Getting Back in the Game
OK, I've been away for a while . . . lots of excuses but no more!
Everything that is getting in the way will always be there and the only one losing out is me - losing out on how fit I could be and how good I could feel.I'm posting this today to ask you to hold me accountable to stick with this for 90 days. Today is day 1. |

Thank you!
Thank you for the welcome H20Goddess! I enjoy reading your posts!
MagaMa - I am only 2 weeks into P90X so we can go through this process together. I have lost 12 pounds in my first 2 weeks and am getting stronger everyday. For extra motivation, I took the worst picture (me at my heaviest) and hung it up on my refrigerator so I will eat clean. Another thing I am doing is trying on my most favorite jeans that I fit into just 6 months ago whenever I am craving something sweet. It has helped. I am putting everything I have into my workouts and it's already paying off! Keep us posted on your progress. You are now accountable as am I on here. |

Hi Magama, Dystany!!!
We'll all be fresh into a round of the X together then, 'cause I'm ready and rearing to start round 3 a week from today! We can all hold each other accountable. It'll be great. So glad you're pulling out all the stops and getting back into the game full swing, Magama. ![]() Dystany: 12lbs in two weeks?? You go girl!! That's awesome! ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for the encouragement and welcome Dystany1.
![]() I decided to try Classic this time. Shoulders and Back yesterday. This morning I started with a little yoga warm-up, followed by ARX followed by Plyometrics. I had to stop at 30 mason twists but managed to do all of plyo. Love the strong feeling P90X gives me. Enjoy the rest of the weekend ![]() |

Thank you for the warm welcome. My pleasure for the encouragement. The mason twists are super hard on ARX! I tap out at about 30. I am able to do far more of ARX than even 2 weeks ago. Slow and steady wins the race right? Keep up the great work everyone!

Good morning X'rs
![]() Just have time for a quick check in. My shoulders are giving me issues again, a little different than last time and I am positive that it is bursitis. The pain is like a burn, it is not muscular and I have full range of motion. I have one more week left of Lean before I go on vacation for two weeks. I am going to try and finish but go very light on the weights for shoulder exercises. When I return I plan to make an appointment with my doc and see about getting a shot to get it under control. You are doing great Dystany!! Good to see you back MagMa ![]() H20 - You still amaze me girl!! Bamm - Hang in there and push yourself through this phase. You have worked so hard to get here...don't give up!!

Happy Monday!
Bamm: You can do it...just set your mind to it. I know there are certain days I don't feel like it either because it's just so humid and the humidity zaps all my energy it seems. I feel much better after doing the workout though. Magama: I know I couldn't agree more about the way I feel when doing the P90X workouts. So awesome, so powerful and strong and totally refreshed afterwards. ![]() Dystany: Mason twists are a killer for sure! By the time I reach number 30 - 35 I'm about ready to collapse. It becomes a mind over matter thing from there-on until we reach twists 45-50. Nikismom: So sorry to hear you're having shoulder problems again. Hope you can work through them. Core Syn tonight! Happy X'ing and/or Chalean-ing everyone!!!

Shoulders and Arms today; really enjoy that workout. Didn't get ARX done but abs are definitely feeling ARX from yesterday. Went to Krav tonight. It was great. Yoga tomorrow.
H20Goddess: I am right there with you regarding the humidity but pushing through in spite of it sure gives a sense of accomplishment when you are done. Nikismom, sorry to hear you are having shoulder trouble again. Enjoy your vacation - maybe the rest will help. Bamm, definitely don't give up. You will be amazed at your results and you are closer than you think. Dystany1: you have already made great progress. Anyone hear from Kajun?

Now that I am in the 3rd week I am finally going to take Tony's advice of adding a little recovery mix to my water during Plyometrics. I can do it but in the last 10-15 minutes I find myself completely spend. I hope this helps. Have any of you tried doing this?
I also read on the P90X message boards on the site that you can use your push-up bars during Yoga X for wrist pain during vinyasas. I can't believe I didn't think if this as I use them for my push-ups especially in the chest and back workout. I hope it helps. |

Magama: I think Kajun is just really busy with his practice etc. Hopefully we will hear something from him soon. Kenpo X tonight! |

Are most of you sticking to low carb or following the P90x diet? I'm also looking at Crack the Fat Loss Code, which is basically carb cycling. I'm having a hard time sticking to my Protein Power way of eating. I kind of feel like I need a change...

Hi Lynnport!! Welcome!
I don't follow the P90X nutrition plan, but I do use it's principles. It was when starting P90X this past February that I decided to switch from strict low carb (20-30 carbs a day) to a moderate / healthier carb diet. Now I consume anywhere from 90 - 160 carbs a day, depending. However, they are all clean carbs. I felt my body needed it to support how vigorous the P90X workouts are. My biggest fear when I upped the carbs was that I would gain some weight back, but in fact the opposite happened. I actually lost 3lbs. I learned that as long as you're bringing it really hard with the P90X workouts, everything else takes care of itself. I now consider myself more "clean eating" than anything else. Great day everyone! Began phase 2 of my 3rd round on Monday. Did the Insanity Preview yesterday for the first time in a little while and it has my calves screaming again. Can't wait to get to my 4th round to do the whole program. Back and Biceps was this morning and I really crushed it at 5am - even though i was up until 1:30am last night working on getting my clinic's website on the top of the organic (non-paid) google listings. It is working though - I have 5-7 of the top organic search results on most of my chosen keywords now.
Dystany - Welcome to the board! You are going to love the program. I began my f1st round on Christmas eve of last year and have not taken a day off since. (On each rest day I faithfully have done the X Stretch.) I can't wait to see your results. I hope to get done with all my internet marketing set-up stuff here soon and then I'll be back participating in the thread more than I have been lately. MagaMa - Great to hear from you and glad you have re-affirmed your commitment. Lynnport - I haven't done "low carb" in quite a long time now. I still do healthy carb - nothing sugary or processed, only fruits and veggies. I would not be able to bring my best with the intensity of P90X, P90X+, TOny's One on One series and Insanity without the carbs for energy. My intake is 50%carbs, 30%protein and 20%fat - all healthy. If I was not doing the exercises I'd be lower in carbs, but if I was not doing the exercise I would be lessening my health - not an option ![]() Goddess - Glad to see you are still kicking it. Bamm - It is important to re-focus yourself before you start taking days off. Change up the time of day you are working out or change the order a little - something to freshen it back up for you. You've come too far to stop now. Have a great day everyone! |

Plyo - I actually look forward to doing it. Was just out of juice when I did ARX last night and skipped 2 mins of the workout. I'm dreading the fall, won't be able to workout much due to school at night. I gotta try and fit ChaLean in some sorta way.

Hi Kajun! Great to hear from you. I'm right behind you - starting Phase 3 on Sunday. Can't believe it. What a difference six months dedicated exercise and clean eating makes.
Magama: Ironic that you got comments on how toned your arms were yesterday - so did I! LOL I was talking to a co-worker in the hallway and we were complaining about the dresscode in our office, anyway, we were both wearing tank tops and the first thing she said to me was how strong and toned my arms were. I was beaming with pride. Looks like all the long, hours of getting my butt kicked by P90X has paid off.Bamm: I hear ya on the Plyo. I'm usually excited when I know I'm going to do that workout and then once I get started I'm wondering why...lol. Certainly a great workout and definitely a major contributing factor to the way my legs have leaned out. As for fitting in all your workouts...I'm sure you'll find a way. Even if you have to modify some combinations of workouts and the days you do them on. Where there's a will there's always a way. Good luck! ![]() |

Good morning all
![]() I had an appointment with my doc yesterday but she was called away on an emergency so I had to cancel...bummer!! I did Burn Intervals last night and dropped the weight down to 3lbs on shoulder exercises. I did great and didn't feel any pain in my shoulders during the workout. Had the usual burning pain when I woke up this morning but it seems to be gone now. Tonight I plan on doing Kenpo I am also thinking about buying P90X Plus when I get back from Vegas...does anyone have them? Welcome Lynnport!! I also do more of a moderate carb diet, very similar to H20. I try to make my carbs healthy ones but do have a treat every now and then ![]() MagaMa/H20 - Isn't it just the greatest feeling when someone notices the changes in your body!! I have been getting so many compliments, especially when I run into friends that I haven't seen in a while. Everyone always wants to know how I did it ![]() My boss is giving me the eye so I better go ![]() Have a great day everyone!! |

I do not do the P90X eating plan. Anything that limits me to one fruit and one veggie a day (fat shredder) is not for me. Instead I eat low GI carbs, lots of lean proteins, low fat cheeses, and fruits and veggies. I've lost a lot of weight already so it appears to be working well for me. =)
I've been adding extra cardio in to my P90X routines. I know it's not recommended but I love cardio! I'm off to do Yoga X. This time with my push-up bars. Next week will be my first recovery week and I just read it's 2 Yoga X's next week. Ugh. Not the biggest Yoga X fan. |

Nikismom: It's great. I normally see a look in their eye that let's me know they wish they were as dedicated to working and eating healthy as I am.
Dystany: Congrats on getting to your first Recovery week. Although it's hardly recovery as Tony still kicks your butt. Yoga X twice a week can hardly be considered "recovery" LOL ![]() Happy weekend everyone! |

I agree! I tried Yoga X with the push-up bars and it was great until downward dog time. It's hard to push up into it correctly. So I am back to doing the workout without them. My wrists did not hurt this time. Maybe my wrists are getting used to it, I don't know. I even did Crane for the whole time for the first time. In any event, yes Yoga X 2x's next week. =( I am happy about it but Core Synegentics 2x's is good. I love that workout! Happy workouts and weekend to all!

I'm starting P90X on August 10 with my 23 year old daughter (who's in great shape already). I've always weight lifted but as I get older (51) I notice that my joints aren't up to the really heavy weights anymore.... hoping that this will work. I love lifting weights and hitting my body bag. I'm still not too sure about my way of eating... love Protein Power... haven't been too consistent with it this summer... still would like to drop 20 lbs. 18 years ago I did low glycemic (BEFORE IT WAS POPULAR) and low fat. I know that I can't do super low fat anymore... it just leads to a binge. I'm thinking about keeping my carbs to between 60-70 initially and upping them if I need to. I'd rather stay away from grains and stick with vegies and fruits. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

I won't knock it, but I prefer real food over shakes. I get a good breakfast each day. My favorite lately is Cheerios and fresh banana slices with a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice.
or Turkey bacon, wheat toast, grape jam and apple juice. |
