Great day, everybody! Today was my second graduation - another 90 days down... a lifetime to go This was a very cool hybrid with P90X/P90X+ and One on One. I begin round 3 tomorrow with another hybrid of those three programs - but different than the round 2 hybrid. Love that muscle confusion. I was hoping to make round 3 INSANITY but with its unconfirmed released date, it'll have to wait for round 4 - although I may work a few of the workouts into round 3, depending on when it is finally released.

RCagle - I don't know much about the bodybugg - I think they run $300 and up and you get access to the computer program required for its use for 6 months for free, after that there is a monthly fee, although I don't know what it runs. I did a little looking into the bodybugg but when I realized it must be worn 24/7 for accurate info, I knew it was not feasible for me.

Round 3 - Week by Week for the next 13 weeks - weeks 4, 8, and 13 are recovery week workouts

Happy Monday to all!

Busy, busy day and haven't had time to post until now. Phase 3 began yesterday - feeling great so far!

Kajun that is one killer Round 3 you've got going there. Looks awesome!

Rcagle: I know you must be ectatic to be back in the game! Thanks for telling me what Body Bugg was. Hadn't even heard tell of it until you mentioned it.

Onto Plyo tonight...can't wait as usual. Keep pushing play everyone!

I wonder much revenue just P90-X has generated for BeachBody.com?

Shoulders, Chest and Tris...I have difficulty doing all of the push ups to max because of a bad rotator cuff on the right arm, but I did close to 98 push ups in all...shoulder was burning fiercely.

Happy Tuesday X'ers,

Last night was my first night of CLX, kinda round 2, since it has been the first of April when I finished round 1. My weight selection was very close to where I ended last time, so I still have some of my strength, now if I could just find the stamina, and I did all push-ups on the the toes, woohoo I also did Ab Burner, nothing compared to ARX. but I'll get there. Had my post-op appt. today, Dr. was pleased and told me to push it as hard as I can. He said he had only pulled me and another lady, who is a runner, tighter because he knew I would test the limits. PlyoX will be the ultimate challenge, it will be mixed into my CLX routine.

KajunDC - You mentioned Insanity Preview long before Shaun T's was advertised, is this a TH product? Are you working out x2/day? I agree w/H2O, your schedule looks super intense.

H2O - Yeppers, I'm soooo ready to play catch-up. I figure I'm about 14,000 calories burned due to last month I definitely need to work on my mind, it wants to continue to be lazy, but I don't listen to those negative thoughts. I have to become robotic again, come home, change clothes, pp, and never think twice. I can't wait to get my BB. Have the battle is knowing and adjusting. Maybe this will help me find my zone to pull pounds.

Bamm - P90X, a late bloomer, I bet no one guessed the popularity would take off so many years after production.

Waving "hi" to all you other fanatics out there.

Good morning all

I have been bringing it hard with CLX, I love this program!! Last night I did Push circuit 2 and Extreme Abs, brought it hard. The last set was lateral arm raises leading with the elbow, I went very heavy and by the 7th rep the target muscle was on fire! The killer part of Extreme Abs is that there is NO break at all Tonight is Kenpo!!

Rcagle - I know how good you must feel to be back in the game

Kajun - Awesome workout plan!!

H20 - :notworthy:

Bamm - WTG on the push ups!!

GREAT day everyone! Today was day 2 of round 3 with Plyo Legs. Feeling really good right now.

RCagle - The Insanity Preview is a preview of Shaun T's upcoming set. It came with one of Tony's One on One monthly DVD's. It is basically one workout called Plyometric Cardio Circuit. I am only doing one workout a day - along with Abs 3 times per week.

Bamm - Do you use push-up bars? If not, they may help the shoulder. If you do then you may wish to substitute lying dumbbell presses for the push-ups. Don't aggravate a pre-existing injury. That'll only cause problems down the road for you.

Good day everyone!

Yesterday at work I was extremely busy putting the finishing touches on preparing for the training sessions I held today and barely had time to eat all day (very rare for me, as I eat (healthy foods, of course) like it's going out of style...all day, normally. So then last evening when I got home to do...the mother of all workouts, PLYO, no less, it KICKED my butt. I barely had the energy to bring it like I normally do. I was poofed! Just goes to show how important food is in the grand scheme of things when it comes to any fitness program. So I'm back to "fueling" up today, eating and snacking like crazy and can't wait to get home and Shoulders / Arms tonight, my most favourite workout, EVER!

rcagle: I know exactly what you mean. It's all about having the proper mindset. The mindset that when it comes time to workout, as much as you may dread it on any given day (and Lord knows there are days I do feel that way, mostly during TOM...lol), you still get the workout gear on, stick the dvd in the player and get moving with Tony and the Kids, or Chalean or whichever workout dvd you're using. I find that the days I didn't really feel like workout out but did the work out anyway are sometimes the days I push myself the hardest. And the feeling of accomplishment after the workout is done for having done something I didn't feel like doing is priceless. You'll get back to where you before, I just know you will.

Nikismom: doesn't lifting heavy feel awesome?? I can only imagine how on fire your muscles were after that. I LOVE doing lateral raises.

Bamm: Yes, way to go indeed with those push-ups! You rock!

Kajun: I can't wait to get to Round 3 like you. Only approx. 30-some more days or so and I'll be on my way with either a hybrid of P90X, Chalean Extreme or something, either way, I'll be kicking some major tushie!

We're going to be kicking tail all the way through the next 90 days, regardless of setbacks. We are fiercely bringing on a daily basis. We are Tony Horton's elite fitness freaks who ENJOY taking it to the extreme and aren't afraid to work hard. Some of us are women who aren't afraid of muscle and being toned and lean. We are not afraid to lift heavy weight. We are not afraid to BRING IT!

Just got off a webinar with Shaun T. Insanity will be available by July 13th. It is a major cardio routine for 60 days - geared for those who want to train to be runners or engage in heavy aerobic activities.

Happy Friday everyone!

Probably won't be around next week as I am on vacation. Still gonna be "pushing play" though (wouldn't miss it - nothing comes between Tony, the kids and I! lol)...not going far, just going to be very busy on the homefront with visiting family etc.

Cheers to all!

Greetings, All! One week down in my new round. I was watching the TV on Thursday night and dosed off and had an epiphany about what I really want to do this round. I began thinking about how I was exercising prior to P90X and the fact that I would work the same baody parts on Friday that I worked on Monday in my 3 day a week workouts. This would give me 3-4 days of recovery for those specific body parts as opposed to the 7 days I am giving with the Tony Horton routines. So I decided to incorporate this line of thinking into round 3. My new routine, which I did this week since the epiphany was Thursday and the first change I needed to make was Friday, is:

Made it to the 2nd recovery week. Weight loss is more than apparent now. When people that haven't seen you in a bit come up to you and ask what you are on..because you look great etc. I figure that I should be ahead of my goal to lose at least 30 lbs by the end of the program.

We shall see eh?

Good morning everyone!

Haven't been anywhere near a computer this past week - was on vacation, and while I didn't go anywhere specific, I was extremely busy with visiting family members everyday etc. I did, however, still do my workouts. Those were non-negotiable. Anyway, realized last evening that next week is my final workout before my last recovery week of round 2. Can't believe it.

Kajun: your idea for your next round sounds great. I'm considering tweaking the layout of the program for my next round just to change things up a bit. Not quite sure how yet, though.

Bamm: CONGRATS on making it to recovery week 2!!! Even better that people are noticing your changes! Wonderful!

Ok where is everyone else?????

Magama, Nikismom...LadyB and whomever else I didnt mention? Rcagle how are things going now that you're back in the exercising game?

I miss my workout buddies, please show yourselves!

Hey H20: still here - life is getting in the way - I know, make this a priority but sometimes it is just not possible. I did a couple of weeks of Chalene Extreme - been having more problems with my hip and knees - don't know if it is related. Had Dragon Boat race on Saturday. We took 3rd out of 5 large manufacturing teams and 27 out of 44 overall. Not great but a lot of fun. The weather couldn't have been better. I am still maintaining my weight - haven't lost but haven't gained so that's good. Hope to get restarted with Chalene for the rest of summer and Tony when fall hits. I still log on to here for motivation so don't give up on those of us who have been silent lately.

I am still here, just have been very busy

I am half way through my first week of Lean circuits....OH MY is it kicking my butt!! I am really sore. I did remember to switch the circuits around so I am doing 2,1 then 3. Awesome workouts!!

Bamm - CLX focuses more on building muscle through HEAVY weight lifting. The foundation of this program is that muscle burns fat. The workouts are shorter and offer 2 rest days if you take them. I hope that helps

Hi guys!

I agree. It is hard to fit everything in during the run of a day, with work, family etc., and then still find time to fit in an hour or long more workout also. It is definitely a challenge.

Magama: thats great that you're maintaining your weight.

Nikismom: glad to hear things are going so well with your workouts. I must soon give this Chalean Extreme a look-see. Not sure if they're selling it in my area anywhere so I'll probably have to order it. But I'm still toying around with what I'll do for round 3. A Chalean/P90X hybrid of some sort sounds like it could be interesting.

I have found that being summer, and the fact that it has been extremely, humid, sometimes it's a little hard to really push oneself during workouts. I need a bigger, more powerful fan or something.

Okay folks, I've started my first round. I think it might just kill me. Not really, but it sure seemed to come close tonight.

I did surprise the heck out of myself and did 20, count em, 20 'girl' push ups. Couldn't believe it. I am active, I cut and split my own fire wood and fix and replace things around the house (fence, flower beds). I don't just sit.

Going to bed, tomorrow is another day, and my second with P90X!

I am very inspired by everyone here and am looking forward to 'my' graduation and learning wonderful things from you all.

Thanks for letting me in.

Strength to us.

Christine

Hello Everyone!

Welcome Killerblues!! So glad to have you join us.

Good for you on the push-ups. With P90X you'll find that you'll get stronger through each of the three phases and things you can't imagine being able to do right now, i.e., pull-ups etc., you'll have the strength to do by the end of the program. It's extreme, it's hard work, but so worth it when you see your results in the end.

Did Shoulders/Arms last night. Love this work out more and more every time I do it, if that's even possible.

Yoga X tonight!

Hello

I am in the Lean phase of CLX....oh my I had forgotten how tough this phase was but thank goodness I did remember to switch the circuits around so I am doing 2, 1 then 3. For those who have not done the program, Chalene does a total shoulder annihlation in 2 and 3, if you do them in sequence you have recovered enough from 2 to do 3. Most have found it better to switch them around. Tonight is Lean 3 and it will be very challenging because my arms are mega sore from 1 and I still feel my shoulders from 2 even though it has been 5 days since I did it. It is a good sore

Welcome Killerblues!!!

H20 - I am struggling a little with my workouts too, I have really having to force myself to Bring It these days.

I am on week 9 of P90x and I agree it is hard to get home from work and start the workout. Plyo completely destroyed me this week and I nearly didn't finish. I do see definite strength gains, especially when I do push ups. I can nearly keep up with Tony's crew on those.

Has anyone mastered ARX yet?

I feel like I'm rippin right through then the Phifer scissors bring me back to reality.

Nikismom: That Lean phase of CLX sounds BRUTAL. But brutal is best...lol! And I LOVE working my shoulders. Love it when it hurts so good! Definitely have to get my hands on CLX.
sooner rather than later.

And yes, I'm finding that since it's summer, it's a little harder to muster up the motivation to do the workouts on some days.

Bamm: I've had my butt kicked by Plyo more than a few times this past month or so. I think with the humidity, the workout zaps your energy that much quicker. Good for you on the strength gains. Doesn't it feel good to be able to keep up with Tony and the crew?

On ARX - I'm definitely as close to mastering it as I could be. My biggest accomplishment with ARX was finally being do all crunchy-frogs, all fiefer scissors and all 40-something mason twists without stopping. Those were the difficult aspects of the workout for me and in the beginning I couldn't do them without stopping for breaks but over time, my abs have gotten stronger and stronger. I remember in the beginning I used to feel a lot of strain in my neck due to the fact that my abs/core weren't strong enough to execute the moves and as a result I was lifting myself up using mostly my nect - definitely not good. My neck used to hurt like crazy after that workout. But since my abs and my core area have gotten so much stronger no more neck pain. It's all abs/core strength that I'm using now.

Legs/Back tonight. My quads are developing quite nicely, I've noticed.

Keep pushing play!

LOL H20, We struggle on the same ARX moves By the time I finish the first 3 I am dead for crunchy-frogs. I break it up into sets of 8 which helps but sometimes I fail before 8 in the last set. fifer scissors..is there a better lower ab exercise? When I start to fail I assist myself by grabbing the back of my thigh until I have recovered enough to let go. The Mason twists kick my butt every time, I seldom make it past 20 If you get a hold of CLX you love Extreme Abs!!

LOL - you use the same strategy as I do with fifer scissors when I get close to failure - I grab the back of my thigh to hold the leg up. I also find that bending the knee towards you instead of holding the leg straight up in the air offers the exact same resistence as holding it straight up in the air.

With mason twists, once I make it past 30 of them, I know I'll get to the end. The more I feel like collapsing, the more I tighten my abs/core as I'm twisting to keep the stamina going. That move really is quite a doozy, for the simple fact that in addition to the actual twists, you also have to balance yourself with holding your legs up and not letting them touch the floor. There's a lot going on all at once.

I got a hold of the CLX Deluxe Kit and will be working with it after the P90X program is complete. School starts back up for me in the Fall soon...full time job - full time student..CLX's shorter workout times will help a lot to get the momentum going and prevent a relapse...ya know...pizza beer chips sodas...oh my!

Bamm: good for you purchasing CLX. It'll be a nice switch up for you I am sure. You are going to be one BUSY human being come this fall...lol, but good on you.

I'm off to do Kenpo tonight, can't wait to throw some extreme punches!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Hey Xer's,

For the past 2 weeks I've been pulling double duty, a workout at 4:30am (cardio) and one in the evening (CLX). Insanity arrived Thursday p.m. and I jumped right in. I can not believe how tough it is. Nothing prepares you for this, but you gotta love it. No weights, just this "body"; drills and drills and drills, repeated faster and faster and faster (if you're still standing . Now I'll move the CLX to the a.m. and "I" in the evening. Hopefully this combination will be the ticket. I'm hoping to be a swimsuit by the end of August laying on the beach in Summerland Key, FLA

Have a great day and keep p.p., you're looking like a rock star!!!

Newbie

I just began P90X this week and found this site and am so happy I did! I'm not sure if any of you will even read this since it's listed as a May '09 forum but just in case...

KajunDC - Your words of inspiration and advice were well received by myself as I'm sure they were for the others who read them! I even printed out some of what you said to remind me if I start to doubt my progress along the way.

It was also helpful to read the posts on here from the ladies. It seems like almost everything I read today until this site on P90X was the results for guys. Since we drop fat at a slower pace it's nice to also read the progress from the gals.

I started the Lean program this week. After reading other's experiences, I am going to switch to the Classic Program next week. I also will be adding extra cardio in (Treadclimber, Turbo Jam etc). I ran my first half marathon in May (which I never in a million years thought I could do, but I did!). After it was over, I stopped working out and now I am determined to get my fit physique back. It will be great to chat with others going through the program or have already gone through the program. I am ready to BRING IT for life!!!
