Hey Everybody! Sorry about being MIA. I've been working my rear off here lately including revamping my clinic website, which will go online sometime on Friday. Until then, it is still the old version. The revamp is going to center on videos instead of words to introduce people to what I do and how I do it.

Workouts and all have been going great. I am approaching the end of my second 90 day cycle. I contacted Jonathan Congdon who runs Beachbody with Carl Daikler asking him about the release of Insanity! He answered, saying they are having quantity issues and hope to have it released by mid-July. An announcement should be coming quite soon.

The personal trainer I am building a business referral relationship with has gotten me started as a client. I trained with them on Monday and today over lunch break - that was after doing my normal P90X/One on One DVD in the morning. The combo is extremely intense. They have, quite possibly, the best scale/body composition machine I have ever seen - at this price range. It not only gives weight and overall body fat % (it has hand grips as well as the foot pads) but it will also tell you body fat % of each arm, each leg and the torso individually, it gives your metabolic age, your total body water %, and the lbs of muscle of each body part as it does for body fat %. Absolutely remarkable! Not 100% accurate but will definitely let you know what track you are on. I bought one for my office which will be here next week. I have found that during my bulking phase - which I have done this 90 day round - I have put on about 30 lbs. with 7 lbs being body fat and 23 lbs being muscle. I guess I can't complain too much about a 3 to 1 muscle to fat accumulation. I being my cutting phase on Saturday to remove as much of the 7 lbs of fat as I can and maintain as much of the 23 lbs of muscle as I can. This new scale is going to do well at keeping me on top of exactly what is happening and where.

Below, if I do this right , is the welcome video that will be on my homepage of the website. It only took about 20 tries last night for me to get a take I was happy with This will give you an opportunity to put a voice with the face. Tell me what you think of this. The website is going to be loaded with these types of videos explaining different aspects of what we do. In our ADHD society, I figure more will watch a video than read.

So, does it sound and come across well?

Hey P90X folks! I have decided to join the fray and order the workout.

Did you guys order it from the actual website or did any of you have any luck ordering it for less $$ on Ebay or another discount site?

All of you guys look amazing and are a true inspiration!

Thanks for your help!

Hey Kajun - great to hear from you. I wish I had speakers so I could hear your video. In any event, even though I am unable to listen to it, it looks very professional.

You've made some real progress this round...30lbs with 23lb of muscle??? WOW! Way to go, man!

Thank you for the lovely compliments on my pics/progress. I'm really trying hard and I feel great. So far this round is going really well. I'm glad I made the decision to do Doubles this round. So far the exra cardio has been extremely beneficial. Hard to believe that in another 5 weeks or so I'll be wrapping up my second round of the X. Where I go from there - haven't decided quite yet. I might even do another round.

Hello Ardawn!

I actually purchased my P90X set from Sears, of all places. I almost bought it second hand from someone off Kijiji but then changed my mind because I was worried it might not come with all the required materials.

Still Bringing it!

We're going to be kicking tail all the way through the next 90 days, regardless of setbacks. We are fiercely bringing on a daily basis. We are Tony Horton's elite fitness freaks who ENJOY taking it to the extreme and aren't afraid to work hard. Some of us are women who aren't afraid of muscle and being toned and lean. We are not afraid to lift heavy weight. We are not afraid to BRING IT!

Great day, all! This morning was Yoga - and it was fantastic after the two grueling workouts yesterday.

Dawn - WELCOME and congrats on your decision to begin P90X. If you dedicate yourself, you will see more amazing body changes than you ever thought possible. It is not easy, but if it was you would not get the changes so many have achieved in such a short time period. Just remember, as Tony says, do your best and forget the rest! As for shere to purchase, going through Beachbody is the only was I know of to get all the manuals along with the DVDs. If you click on my Health and Fitnes Blog link in my signature below and look in the right hand column, you'll see how you can get these products through me and have me as your coach during your process. You can also go the ebay route but those do not include manuals, calendars, nutrition guides, etc. Some items can be found on the net but not all. Whichever way you go, I am here on this thread along with many others to offer insite and encouragement. I've had a very rewarding fitness and weight loss journey over the last 5 years, but the last 6 months with P90X (Began on Christmas eve 2008) has given me more benefits than the previous 4.5 years combined.

Goddess - I too haven't decided what to do yet for the third round. I may do straight P90X for the resistance days and throw in the one on ones and others on the cardio/yoga/stretch days. I was planning on doing the Insanity for the 60 day cycle but since it will not be released until mid-July now at the earliest, that is not yet an option. (But now I know what round 4 will consist of )

Have a fantastic day everyone!

Kajun: Nice job on the video - it sounds great and comes across very well. I think it will really help reduce the anxiety for someone who may be looking at going to a chiropractor for the first time. Cograts on that added muscle too.
Welcome Dawn.
H20goddess: hard to believe you are more than 1/2 way through your second round
LadyB: glad to see you on here and talking about doing P90X again - maybe I'll start when you do
Nikismom: What is your favorite CLX routine?
Bamm: WTG
Poopiedo: where did you go?
rcagle: 7 more days?

Thanks for the concern about my work hours. There are peaks and valleys but right now happens to be a peak. I bought Power 1/2 hour and Chalene Extreme so I could have shorter workouts in my deck for days I just don't have time to do more. For right now I just want to make sure I don't lose the progress I made. When my work hours get a little more reasonable I will go back to P90X but if I keep doing some workout routine each day I think it will be ok.

I actually felt pretty strong at krav tonight - that is always motivating for me. Have a good night, morning, weekend all and Happy Father's Day Kajun!

Back and Biceps...I am not a fan of that workout for sure. I tried to move up in weight by 10 lbs and got rocked. Messed up and got lazy on Wed...and took the whole day off with no workout. I'm so screwed on Sun...guess I will be doing cardio that day.

Hello everyone!

Magama: I think as long as you're doing those workouts you mentioned, you shouldn't lose any progress.

Bamm: Back/Biceps is a quite a workout for sure.

Since I won't be around here on the weekend, everyone have a good one and a big Happy Father's day to Kajun and all of the fathers!!!

I'm still here I just haven't been posting lately. I had to adjust my P90x routine. I hurt my knee doing hot foot on Tuesday so I have gone back to Chalean with P90x sprinkled in. For strength on M-W-Fr, I use CLX followed by Ab Ripper. Now I guess I will have to sub Cardio X for Plyo for my Tuesday workout if it doesn't involve too much jumping. I've never done Cardio X. Also I'll probably add Core Synergistics for my Thursday workout. My knee is still stiff. When I started hot foot, the bones in my knee starting popping very loudly like it's never done before. Actually it kind of scared me. I stopped the workout immediately. I didn't think I was landing wrong but maybe I was. Working out on carpet probably was not helpful either. I'll miss Plyo because it was my favorite. I'm also keeping Stretch in my routine because I enjoy it. I'm back to working out five days a week instead of six.

Hey Poopiedo...I'm from the M-Town too. Whitehaven in the house...heh.

I think I'll be taking yoga completely out. On those days I have started running 2.5 miles and swimming another mile. I figure that is more than enough of a cardio workout...X stretch is needed by week's end for sure.

Ok neighbor I grew up in Westwood.

I've tried Yoga. I.just.don't.like.it. I substitute with Rodney Yee's Power Yoga.

Good morning. I increased some of the arm weights to 15lbs and 20lbs and of course suffered a strain. The dr told me that my workout was ambitious. Yes, I had to see her because the pain in the back up my neck, right between the shoulder blades, was excruciating.

She made me promise to put down the weights for a week. Not even weights for the lower body.

rcagle, I am feeling your anxiety and it's only been 2 days.

I can't wait to see Chalene and Tony. I'm going to do YogaX once my week recovery is done. I think that will be challenging enough to test the strain and also centering enough to get me back into the game. It is tough when you injure yourself because some of the fearlessness drifts. Must get it back.

Kajun, it's looking good!

Happy Sunday!

Good morning

MagaMa - It is hard to say which is a favorite with CLX Your weight circuits are done in Phases, I like Burn and Lean better than Push. Push is where you go heavier and fail in 6-8 reps. For Cardio it is Burn Intervals..never thought I would ever say I love this workout Extreme Abs is great too and a good rotation with ARX.

Poopiedo - Good to see you girl!! Sorry about your knee, hope it heals quickly

LadyB - Sorry about the strain Hope you heal quickly too

Good to see you Kajun!!

rcagle - One more week!!!

Bamm - I am not a fan of Back and Biceps either.

Depending on how I feel tonight I might switch up Burn Circuit 2 with Yoga X. I woke up with a headache and it is that time. Yesterday I was very crampy but still managed to do Get Lean Intervals, what a killer workout!!

Have a Happy Monday!!

Good to hear from you again Poppiedo! Too bad about the injury. Hope you're all mended and healed up soon.

Kajun your page looks fantastic...nicely done!

Yesterday began recovery week 2 of round 2. Strangely enough, I'm going to miss doing the extra morning cardio while in this recovery week. Oh well...back to the grind with phase 3 of Doubles next week.

Gotta luv the Chest, Shoulders and Triceps workout. I found out that I need some sorta push up bar or stands to take the strain off my wrists. Can anyone recommend a good set of push up stands beyond the ones that Beach body peddles?

Hey everyone! Day 2 of my Recovery week at the end of Round 2! I am almost finished with my 2nd 90 days of P90X/P90X+/One on One w Tony Horton adventure.

I finally took a measurement of my arms two days agao and found that I have added 3 inches in the circumference of my bi's/tri's. Pretty happy with that.

Bamm - Beachbody has two seperate types of stands. The ones I use are the ones Tony designed and uses in the One on One series... they are not the same as the ones in the P90X series. The Power Stands are MUCH better built, have a round base so they are very stable, have a larger handle so not as much pressure on one specific spot on your hands, and they are angled down so they are more erogonomically designed than the others I have seen. They look like this:

These are incredibly well made and I absolutely love them. They are heavier than they look... you could not bend these with all you strength.

That's some great progress Kajun.

Isn't is amazing that you're already nearing the end of your second round? I cannot believe how fast the time has flown since I first started P90X this past February. I was unsure if I'd be able to get through the program, giving how demanding it was. And here I am well past the middle of round 2 and I'm doing Doubles no less! The end always seems so far off in the distance in the beginnning but before you know it you're close to the end.

I'd love to try some of the One on One dvd's, or Plus. Both look brutal.

I ended up doing Burn Circuit 2 on Monday and did Plyo X last night. I have a love/hate relationship with Plyo, I HATE it....but I LOVE it I am so amazed at how much stronger I am doing Plyo compared to when I started P90X. Last night I did 20 seconds on each foot during the first set of Hot Foot and finished all of the second set When I started I could not do 5 seconds

Kajun - amazing progress, truly inspirational

Happy Hump Day fellow X'ers,

Only 1 more day, I can hardly wait. Although I have cheated a little, slow jog on the TM, and pushups on the stairs, just felt the need to flex some muscle. I really feel "soft", everything still fits the same, I know it's from just sitting around. I'm starting back on CLX on Monday, I'll do some of my favs on Friday, Sat and Sun. Still waiting on Insanity to be released.

KajunDC - Awesome website. You are such and inspiration.

H2O - Wow, time has flown by. Are you finding it easier each day to get up in the morning and workout?

LadyB - Unfortunately there is nothing I can say that will make this time go by any faster, in fact it seems the days just creep by. But, the day will come

NikisMom - I like PlyoX and it will be the test as to the success of my surgery

I better get back to work. Ciao for now.

Good day everyone!

rcagle: so glad it's only one more day for you! I thought Insanity was supposed to have been released by now? Regarding the morning Cardio, I've amazed myself with how devoted I've become to the extra morning workouts. I almost feel like I'm cheating being on Recovery week this week and not doing the extra cardio. Weird...makes me wonder if doing another round of the X after finishing this round, if going back to just Classic will ever feel like it's enough anymore. Can you imagine? I'm now referring to Classic as "just Classic" as though it weren't extreme enough in and of itself...lol. Yeah, I'm out of my mind all right.. Is Doubles making me a P90X snob or what?

nikismom: doesn't making progress feel great? In the beginning I used to pant, huff and puff like nobody's business when doing Plyo, but my endurance is SOOO much better. It's amazing.

I've been switching this weeks Recovery workouts around a little this week. Did Stretch on Sunday, Core Syn on Monday and instead of Kenpo last night I did Cardio X. I have found that I really love the mix this workout gives. It's a little bit of everything, which is why I think I've taken so much to doing it in the mornings.

Happy Summer!

LadyB: sorry to hear about your strain - take it easy and you will be back before you know it.
Kajun: can't believe how fast round 2 is going for you. Great results on those BIs and TRIs.
H20: I don't know how you do doubles. I guess if I count krav I do doubles on some days but I can't imagine committing to it for 90. Your rock!
Poopiedo: sorry about your knee. I have various knee & hip issues and just skip past hot foot or do something else. I figure eventually I will gain enough lower body strength to do those but in the meantime, if I skip it but do the rest of plyo, it's all good.
Rcagle: have a great workout your first real day back!
Nikismom: thanks for the info on CLX. I started on Monday. I was really struggling with finding enough time for Tony & the kids. I'm not sure if it is all in my head but I have found enough time for Chalean.

Tomorrow is my first day with burn intervals and ab burner. Then tomorrow night is our first in water practice for the Great Midwest Dragon Boat Race which will be held on Lake Michigan July 11th and I'll follow that with krav.

I hope I can still bring it by the time I get to Krav. I'm looking forward to seeing if my strength and endurance has improved since I last raced a couple of years ago. It's lots of fun and not a lot of committment - a couple of practices and then race day!

I don't know how I'm doing it either. Just goes to show how easily something can become a habit once you start.

Really brought it to Kenpo last evening. Not sure if it'll be Core Syn or Yoga tonight. Technically it's supposed to be Core Syn, but since I've been switching things up this week, and did the hard-hitting cardio last night with Kenpo, maybe I'll slow things down a bit tonigth and do Yoga...ahh...decisions, decisions!

GREAT day everybody! I want to tell you all about my latest purchase, a way I have taken accountability to the extreme.

I had a few training sessions with a personal trainer last week and one of the things they did was body fat analysis and metabolic aging. This was done on a Tanita scale I had never seen before. Not only did this model have the foot pads but also hand grips to measure BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis.) What intrigued me most about the scale was that it not only measured total weight and total body fat %, but it also measured the body fat % of the trunk, left arm, right arm, left leg and right leg individually. On top of that it gives you a read out of your body’s total muscle amount in lbs, as well as a breakdown of the muscle in the trunk, left arm, left leg, right arm, and right leg in lbs. It tells the weight in lbs of your skeletal bones, your basal metabolic rate – including # of calories you need per day to maintain weight, it gives your metabolic age, it gives a visceral fat weight and rating (the amount of fat surrounding your internal organs – which is the most unhealthy fat we have), and finally it gives your total body water %.

After experiencing this I decided to look into the scale for cost and accuracy. Everything I have found has really given extremely high marks for accuracy, reliability and reproducibility… so I decided to invest in one, and I am so glad I did. I got it Tuesday and while weight and body fat % can vary somewhat in everyone at different times of the day, what it tells me my bone mass density is, which should not change, has been 100% the same each time I have stepped on this scale, and the same that is was on the scale at the personal trainers place.

I will write down my stats once a week – each Monday morning upon waking (it says you should be awake at least 3 hours and fast at least four hours for most accurate results, however I eat something every 3 hours so between the two my research shows the fasting 4 hours is more important than the being awake 3 hours), but I will measure every morning upon rising just to get a real read on how consistent it seems to be.

I cannot begin to say how pleased I am with this purchase as I have never seen anything for this price that offers so much information on progress and where that progress is being made. The ability to track fat gain and loss and muscle gain and loss for total body and for each individual segment puts me more in control than ever and lets me know what truly works the best for me and what is not working… and when I plateau.

The scale is the Tanita model BC-558. I found it on the Competitive Edge website for $299, if anyone is interested in checking it out.

And INSANITY's release date has been pushed back to at least mid-July due to quantity issues. They are having trouble getting their DVD producer to make all the copies they need to go ahead and begin the release. But they are working to get it out ASAP>

Hey X'ers,

I did a new workout today, Forza, it uses a wooden sword. I'll definitely feel it tomorrow as I'm all ready tightening up. Great for the upper body. Now, I'm going to try to get up in the morning for a cardio, H2O has me thinking doubles :0.

KajunDC - $299 is not bad, I thought you were going to say something like thousands, and envisioned a monster of a gadget. I've been looking into a Body Bugg, any thoughts????

H2O - It felt so good to put workout clothes on. I must admit I struggled with endurance. I can't believe how fast my body regressed.

MagaMa - I LOVE BI and GLI. They were my favorite. I'm not a fan of BIO. Good luck at the boat race.

Hey to everyone else, I gotta go prepare dinner.

Finishing up recovery week 2 of round to today. Sunday begins Phase 3 of round two - already!

Kajun: I'd love to have my body fat tested...something I'm going to look into. I'm going to check out that scale you mentiond also. That would be a good way to track my progress. Glad you're thinking of trying the morning cardio. You might find that you like it. I've found that it is a good way to jumpstart my day and get the blood flowing.

Happy a great weekend everyone!

Rcagle: never heard of Body Bug before.

I can imagine you felt wonderful being able to put yourself back in the exercising "game" so-to-speak. The body seems to regress fast after some time off from exercising, but I find it doesn't take that long for it to start progressing again, once you get started up again.

Last night I did Get Lean Intervals -CLX. That on top of the sword swinging the night before my upper body is pretty achy. I took motrin before bed and I still was uncomfortable. Hey, I'm not complaining, I'm just glad to be pp.

H2O - Body Bugg, tracks your calorie burn. A weight loss is based on the deficit between calories in and calories burned. You wear the device around your arm all day even to bed. If you ever watched the Biggest Loser, they use them religiously. I'm determined to lose some pounds. I log all my foods on my palm using CalorieKing.com, I looked at my profile the other day and realized I had set it up wrong, I had selected "lifting" as my non-exercise activity level and it should have been "sedentary" due to the office work. It reduced my caloric intake from 1443 to 1164 to lose 1 - 2 pounds a week. Doesn't seem like enough calories, I don't know we'll see.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone and "bring it" in whatever you do
