Happy Monday Everyone,

Saturday and Sunday I took my dog for a walk (x2 yesterday) and cut out fabric, anything to stay busy but legal. NOT easy to do! I'm getting up 15 minutes earlier each week to condition myself for morning work-outs when recovery time is up. Working out at 4:30 am just sounds evil.

LadyB - Yep, 1 week down and 3 to go. You have no idea how frustrating it is to feel "normal" and not be able to pick up a quart of milk, heck fire my purse weighs more than 2 pounds

Nikismom - Have you seen Sean T's Insanity? It is suppose to be released this month. I'd like to start w/it when I'm released to work-out for the evening work-out.

Better get some work done, I like having the office to myself. Ciao for now.

Happy Monday everyone!

So I officially started week two of Doubles this morning, and so far so good. I usually pop out of bed at 5:55 am, splash some cold water on my face, get into my workout gear, have a yogurt and by 6:00 I'm busy pounding out those yoga warm-up moves with Tony and the gang. Once I'm up and in my workout clothes I'm ready and rearing to go. I feel so refreshed and ready to take on my day after I finish doing Cardio X first thing in the morning.

Magama: Took day 126 photos over the weekend. I'll post them shortly. DId you take 90-day pics? Don't you find it so much easier to bring it with ARX when it is done before the strength workout? I know I sure do. I'll never do ARX last again! LOL

Boy oh boy did I ever bring it hard to Chest/Shoulders/Triceps yesterday. Except for straight arm-lateral raises (which I usually use 8 & 10lbs for) I'm using 15lbs for most arm exercies now...just crazy! If you had told me this time last year, when I was using only 3's and 5lbs dumbbells, that I'd be using mostly 15lb dumbbells for my arm exercises, I'd have told you you were off your rocker. LOL. Absolutely cannot believe my progress, not only body-wise, but strength-wise.

Huff: I don't doubt for one minute that Plyo burns a heck of a lot of calories. It's one butt-kicking, pulse-pounding workout for sure!

Nikismom: Your CLX/P90X hybrid routine sounds awesome. I hear you with the Chest/Back thing. Considering that is predominently pull-ups/push-ups, frainkly, it's my least favourite workout. Specifically, I don't really care for the chest aspect of it if I'm being perfectly honest. I do the workout anyway, but I guess aside from building more strength in my back, which I appreciate, I don't get how the chest part benefits me. And I agree with you - with your shoulder problems, it's not worth the risk. Like Tony always says, if you have to modify--modify.

rcagle: I'm sure you are counting down the days until you are 100% again. Speaking of Insanity, I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of it. It looks out of this world insane!

Plyo tonight!

I really and truly hate Yoga. Did the first 45 today. Phase 1 recovery week.

I gotta find a replacement.

I am scared. I saw a trailer and I was really scared.

But I wanna try it. I didn't like the hip hop abs but this looks the kind of insane that will be gooooood. Still scared, though.

You go first.

I saw the trailer for Insanity and thought it was a little too insane for me Until my shoulder is 100% it would be out the question anyway

I had forgotten just how tough those CLX circuits are! Last night I did Burn 2 and couldn't make it through ARX. Maybe I was just tired but I was completely spent. I am really loving combining the two programs. Today is Plyo X.

It does look scary. But I'm a sucker for punishment.

Nikismom: Glad to hear the P90X/CLX hybrid rountine is working well for you.

Hello everyone else!

Well, off to do Back/Biceps, and to endure Katie's "fingernails on a blackboard" annoying voice. UGH!

Happy Hump Day Everyone,

Only 17 days of recovery left. I'm worse than a kid, every morning I strike a day off the list. Yesterday I cleaned house like a "mad" woman. House-work, now that's a work-out I wouldn't have, much less if they were giving it away, hehe . I don't think it falls under the category of "light duty, but geez a person can take only so much.

H2O - I'm right there with, I'm a big sucker, in my mind I believe if that person can do I can to, nothing like a challenge to ignite a little "inner-self" competition. WHEN, I get to work-out again, I'm going to try your trick and do ARX first. I had wondered about that but never did it, I just followed Tony like a hypomutized (sp?) puppy.

Well better get ready for work, didn't realize it was so late. Have a great day.

Or how about when she says "I did TEN!" or "Bring it...Bring the pain!" in that annoying baby voice....UGH!!! It makes me want to throw something at the tv.

rcagle: you think just like me. I figure if other human beings can do something, chances are I can too if I try hard enough.

And as far as doing ARX first, for me it has made a WORLD of difference. For one thing, if your doing any of the Legs oriented or Arms oriented strength workout on those days, doing ARX first saves your arm and leg strength in order for you to execute the ARX moves with more power behind them. ARX, although an ab work out, utilizes a lot of arm and leg strength to do the moves properly and to really bring it during the workout. Moves like Bicycles to Fiefer scissors, Crunchy Frog etc., definitely utilize legs and arms when doing the moves Before I started doing ARX first, my legs/arms would be so spent from doing the strength wokout first that they would practically give out when trying to do the above-mentioned moves. It's bad enough ARX makes your abs burn, let alone legs and arms burning too. Since I started doing ARX first I am now able to do ALL of the moves, including all 40 Mason Twists, plus bonuses...certainly couldn't wasn't able to do all of them when I was doing ARX second. Besides, now when the ARX portion of the DVD starts up immediately following the strength portion on the DVD, I laugh with glee knowing I've already got ARX in the bag, as opposed to groaning with dread, knowing that after doing an hour long strength workout I now have to do abs too. ARX first also makes it seem as though the both the workouts go by much faster for some reason.

Yoga tonight!

If you think about it, while you are doing the resistance training days, your whole core gets used. The abs get used while lifting too. Now the intensity is not as great as during ARX but they get worked indirectly.

Good morning to all!

Paging KajunDC...where art thou? You're motivational tips have been greatly missed this past few days....

Hard to believe I am only one more week away from Recovery week 2 of Round 2. Where is the time going? It's going so fast I can't keep up. Hard to believe that in another month and a half I'll have two whole rounds of P90X under my belt. Anyway, I took some day 125 pictures. I did some comparisons side by side with what I looked like on Day 1 and then Day 125 to see now much progress I've made overall. I think the greatest change in my abs came within this past 30 days or so.

Anyway, here they are (I think I've finally figured out how to create side by side pics in PowerPoint that don't look microscopic in size...lol):

Thought I throw a bicep one there just for good measure. The guns are really coming along I must say...lol

Amazing results!!!!!!! Your abs are incredible!
That side twist - WOW! Your commitment really shows.

Fantastic!

I've been working 12 - 15 hours a day, very limited time to workout. I've done a little here and there but haven't been able to commit the way I need to. May need to just maintain until work slows down. I know that won't bring the same results but it may have to do for now.

Maybe yoga in the a.m. if I can get out of bed. I hate it but it is getting better and I'm trying to learn to love it

LadyB: I'm going to do CORNCOB - I thought you guys were over reacting - I was wrong

H20 - Amazing, your results are FANTASIC!! I know how hard you are working to accomplish that and you should be very proud!! KUTGW!!!

MagaMa - I hope work slows down for you soon

rcagle - 2 weeks down, 2 more to go

I am thinking about bringing my gym clothes to work and going to the gym and lunch to do Abs. I am having a hard time giving it my all after an intense lifting or cardio session. Last night a swtiched up Kenpo for Yoga because I felt the need for a more intense workout. It was great, i love Kenpo and brought it hard.

Have a great weekend !!!

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Magama: Those are some heavy hours you've been putting in. All you can do workout-wise is what you can do. Even if you're just maintaining as you say, at least you're still doing something.

Nikismom: I hear ya on the Yoga/Kenpo switch-up. I ended up doing that very thing a couple of weeks ago...switching those two workouts. I just felt like jumping around more that day. And Yoga, as much as I like it, just wasn't "jumpy" enough on that particular day. And speaking of Kenpo, that's what I'm off to this evening.

Happy weekend everyone!

Hey "X"er's,

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week-end. 12 more sleeps and I'm FFRREEEE! yeppee. Yesterday I kinda cheated, I walked on the TM for 45 min. I just had to do something, my nerves are just about shot, it's funny how exercise makes everything better.

H2O - Man, girlfriend your pics are awesome. Your dedication is clearly obvious. KUTGW. You had previously asked about CFLC. I restarted with the carb-deplete week when I had my surgery. You get plenty of protein. You get 6 meals a/day, basic menu includes, oatmeal, chicken, turkey, broccoli, salad, eziekel bread products. Her new book Conquer FLC does not begin w/the carb-deplete week, you immediately have a starch in the daily plan. Conquer also incorporates morning AND evening work-outs (cardio in am, lifting in pm). You get a couple of carb-up days each week. I love those days, I can have a glass of wine and pasta.

Okay, I have to ask, what is "Corncob"? Did I just miss it? Is it a name you girls gave something els? Or, did I not get that far?

MagaMa - You're putting mega hours at work. Is this your normal schedule? Any workout you can get in is better than nothing.

NikisMom - I had thought about going to the gym at lunch, but decided to go into the office around 7:15 and leaving early, working through lunch. I'm also going to add the a.m. cardio workout, maybe tomorrow

Waving "hi" to all you other amazing "X"er's. Have a wonderful Sunday

Goddess, how do you make them bigger? I can only see teeny tiny pics.

DUHR. I had an open screen behind this one and there the photos were.

Goddess, you look like, well ... a goddess.

Your biceps rock da house. And your abs. Da. yum.

Good Monday Morning!

Rcagle: Hey...you gotta do what you gotta do! Something about exercising just makes you feel refreshed and brand new - no matter how much it kicks your a$$. I love knowing that my muscles are being worked, that my heart rate is up and that my blood is pumping.

Thanks for the kudos! It means a lot. Sometimes when looking in the mirror I think to myself, is my body really changing and progressing or is it all in my head? Then I take those photos and post them side-by-side, and it convinces me a little more, but when others (like my fellow LCF'ers) see the results and tell me my results are fantastic then I really feel convinced. LOL

CFLC sounds like my kind of plan. I love that it allows for the types of foods you've mentioned...a little of everything. Grains, protein, veggies, moderate carbs. Definitely my kind of deal. Back in March (though I was terrified in the beginning) I started adding in good carbs in order to properly fuel my bod for P90X and I don't regret a single moment of it. Once I realized that with the intensity of P90X I wouldn't gain any weight back with the added in carbs I felt more at ease. I now consume anywhere from 100 - 160 carbs per day, depending. I like that I'm eating a little of everything (all clean and healthy of course).

On the corn cob thing: Corn cob pull-ups are contained on the Back/Biceps DVD - If I'm not mistaking it with another type of pull-up, I think you use a towel in one hand, while the other hand is on the pullup bar, and you pull yourself up that way. I usually don't do that particular one because my pull-up bar isn't high enough up and I don't want to bump my head on the door jamb, so I modify by just doing a standard pull-up. The joke here, however, is that Katie's voice on Back/Biceps dvd is soooooooo annnoying...especially when Tony asks what type of pull-up everyone wants to do and Katie yells out in her babiest sounding of voices: I wanna do a CORN COB! UGGGGGGGHHHHHHH! Most. Annoying. Voice. EVER.

Ladyb: Thanks for the encouraging words. Makes me smile. I've been really working my biceps and lifting as heavy as possible this second round. I am surprised that I've seen so much progress in my abs during this round so far. That stubborn pooch, though still there, is way, way smaller than it was when I first started this whole thing.

Can't wait to bring it for PLYO tonight!

WTG Bamm!!

H20 & Lady B - You guys were so right about Katie, could they have found a more annoying person to do this video or what!! I don't miss her voice one bit

I recieved my deluxe CLX DVD last night and decided to do I've Got Abs before I did Burn circuit 2....big mistake. In this Ab workout she has you doing push-ups...lots of push ups Not a good lead in the heavy lifting, my arms were toast and I was failing early on just about everything. I could not do the last set of push ups in Burn 2. It is a great Ab workout...just not before lifting. I am still trying to workout the lunchtime thing.

rcagle - Counting down the days for you

Where the heck is Kajun??

I was wondering about Kajun, too. Also, NikisMom, is this deluxe DVD worth it? I have been thinking about getting it and wanted to know how serious the cardio and extra ab work is. Her extreme ab is pretty intense.

LadyB - There are 2 cardio workouts (Fat Burn Challenge and Lean Intervals) that I have not done yet. I've got Abs is a pretty tough workout ...but a good one. There is more weighted ab work in this one which I like. I was hoping to feel more sore in the Abs today but it is still early I think it was worth buying. I will review the other workouts after I do them. Lean Intervals is on the schedule for tonight.

Happy Hump Day Everyone,

Yesterday I got 45 min. on the TM, speed was pretty quick and at times I had the incline at 12%, LCD said 500+ calories burned, hey I'll take anything I can get. Only 8 more sleeps till I'm reprieved, yeah!!!

NikisMom & LadyB - I think the CLX Deluxe is worth it, Get Lean Intervals is my favorite, I subbed it for Burn It Off when I broke my toe, it was easier to modify to compensate for the correction shoe. If you buy the deluxe you will have a total of 3 ab routines, all of which are great.

Well I better get ready for work. Have a fabulous day.

Arrggh! I purchased CLX before P90X and I thought the "deluxe" version wouldn't be worth it because most times, they aren't. I should have had more faith in Miss Chalene. Grrrr.

But I'll go ahead and get it. The eBay prices are almost as high as BB or my coach but I'll do it.

I cannot locate the Legs & Back DVD - it must have happened during my move. I don't know how it became separated from the booklet that is inside the box but it did. Please tell me that is the one Katie is in because if it is, I'm ok with it. Small sacrifice since I refuse to listen to her anymore.

When I'm done with this circuit, I will do P90x LEAN version. I'm kinda excited about that.

Unfortunately you are out of luck. She's on Back/Biceps, not Legs/Back...lol

I did Lean Intervals last night, what a kick ass workout!! The outer thigh set with the toning band was KILLER!!! It is worth the investment

Sorry about Legs and Back LadyB....even more sorry that it wasn't the Katie workout

I knowwwwwwwwwwwwwww, NikisMom!

H20, can you contact Kajun on Facebook or check to see if he is active there? This is a bit unusual. Even when he's crazy busy, he'll pop in.

I just sent him a note on Facebook and told him he's been missed around these parts. Hopefully we'll be hearing from him soon.
