Yeh I'm in! We're due to have snow in London for the next few days. I'm so excited. I'm still in bed right now but I'm about to roll out and do Beginning Callanetics (it's Sunday so I'm allowed to take it easy).

Hello all!!

My name is Natalie and I am new to this group, although I have been watching it on and off now for probably a year! It has given me inspiration to finally join and shape up and lose weight.

I used to do callanetics back in the late 1980s, early 90s and am another person who knows that it works. It shaped my body like nothing else. Now I am 39, mother of 2, work full-time and am about one stone heavier than I was back then. As I am only 5ft 2, that one stone makes all the difference to the way I look and feel and what I feel that I can wear. I would say that I am more of a pear shape so I suffer from the j-lo bum!! lol.

I am aiming to start doing 10 10 callanetics and then move onto Super Callanetics - once I feel that my body can take it. I have never tried super before but I bought the dvd last year after reading some posts from 'watch me shrink' and after watching the dvd I think I need to do 10 10 for a while first...lol!

My target for callanetics this month is going to be 14 (although I hope to do more).

You are all such an inspiration. I have been looking at the before and after photos and it's time I got my figure back!!! lol.

Natalie.

Yeh another Brit! Welcome! This is going to be a great month for Callanetics. The post-Christmas slump is out of the way and I can feel that we are all going to be really motivated.

Hello! I stumbled onto this board and am very motivated by the success stories. I bought a used copy of 10/10 on ebay and did it for the first time this morning. OUCH! My legs are trembling, and that is with not being able to do more than a few repetitions of most of the hip and thigh exercises! I am committing to 12 hours in February.

Hi all,

First hour completed now this morning. (1/14)

I can already feel the effect on my body already. My posture feels straightened - the tension and stress from work has evaporated and I'm ready to do the second hour tomorrow.

Hello Ben...yes another Brit.

Welcome Mary. I'm sure you won't regret it! It does work. Finding time to do it is my only enemy really.

Natalie

I'm going to shoot for 12 hours this month. I only accomplished 7 out my goal of 10 last month so I need to step it up. I'm going to Paris with a girlfriend at the beginning of March so I really want to look my best. I'm going to try to pair my Callanetics with the 100 Push-up Challenge this month too. Good luck everyone!

Hi all :waves:

another Brit here I have been neglecting my callanetics and I did super legs and regular hips today and fell in love again.

I aim to do 8 hours of barre/callanetics in February.

I also do yoga

Have a great month everyone!

I'm in for 15 hours this month, 10 of which will be SuperCallanetics. I did 19 hours last month with absolutely no change (actually my rib cage is a little bigger! argh!) so I'm cutting down my hours, changing my plan and adding in more cardio and bikram.

Whoo hoo!! I am off to do my first hour of Evolution---got it from the library and wanna give it a whirl. I have 10/10 too, but thought I would try this out today.

This is my plan for February:

13 hours Callanetics

Two 90 minute hot yoga classes a week (either power or bikram)

upper body 2-3x a week for 20 minutes (power yoga counts toward this--all those downward facing dogs and planks! YOWCH!)

doggie walking every day for 20-30 minutes

Good luck everybody!!!

i have had the 10/10 for over 2 years now, but havent done it consistently...hence no results to speak of. ugh. so, i am going to re-commit myself to doing it because i know it works...plus going to hawaii end of march so i have some motivation!

GOAL: 10 hours.

I'm aiming for 15 hrs or more if I can. I don't think I've lost any inches since the dec/jan challenges of 30hrs, but my body is definitely firmer, more defined and very flexible. I plan on adding cardio which I have not been doing in the last couple of months.

19 hours of SuperC with no change Are you already in perfect shape? Not sure about why your rib cage would be bigger either. Are you puffing our your ribcage when you stretch up?

Why am I feeling it in my knees?

I was doing Evolution, on the floor, where it is kind of like the pretzel from 10/10 and I felt like it was tweaking my knee that was raised. (?) I am very knock-kneed (they practically face each other....when I do plies I can never ever get my knees over my toes)

Also finding it very hard in some of the other exercises sometimes because my standing leg is working more than my pulsing leg.....I feel it so much in my standing leg/butt cheek, it is difficult to feel it in the "working leg." Must be a weakness or form issue...just thought I would ask since I want to do this properly.

And is the pelvic floor just like "pelvic tilt meets squeezing of the buttcheeks?" Like a tuck and squeeze?

That is my first set of questions.

Hi! I am new to this board but have been doing Callanetics (Evoluion and Super) about 2-3 times a week on/off since August. So far no inch/weight loss, but some noticable firming in my thighs and lift in my butt. For those new to the exercises it is really addictive and has helped me sleep better!

To firm up and lose a few inches in my waist and thighs, I am commiting to 14 hours of Callanetics rotating between Evolution, 10/10 and Super Callanetics. I will also incorporate a 1 hour spinning class once a week and every weekday before breakfast I will do 10-20 minutes of light arm or ab toning using Envy Girls or Core Fusion Body Sculpt DVD.

Current measurements Feb. 1:
Age: 27
Height:5'2
Weight: 112.5 lbs
Chest = 34
Waist right below bellybutton = 28
Hips = 32
Upper Thigh = 19.5

Today 1 hour of 10/10 completed

Hi! I'm new to the board and have joined for the Callanetics thread. I've read almost all the January entries and want to do 12 hours of Callanetics in February. I found Callanetics in 1989 and have done it off and on through the years. It worked when I did it and I'd get to where I felt good and then quit. I want to stick with it and see some real lasting changes this time. I also will aim for 5 days of cardio and 1-2 days of weights for upper body.

I've been doing Callanetics more consistently in January and just have the 10 in 10 video and book, but I'll be ordering the Evolution tape.

And, I really need to focus more on eating clean and not grabbing things here and there that aren't planned. I know conscious eating is also so much a part of keeping your body looking good. It's just so hard. But, I hope to get daily encouragement here.

I'm so happy I found the board.
