December Mini CardioCallanetics Challenge

Back By Popular Demand!
What Is CardioCallanetics?
Its a energizing rhythmic, non-traditional 60 minute workout where a mix of yoga, ballet, callanetics melt together for a fluid and continuous low impact workout.

The CardioCallanetics part is a low impact, cardio, mixing together yoga, ballet and Callanetics.

The Toning part is another 30 of Callanetics Evolution.

Are you ready for this week's CardioCallanetics challenge??
This week's goal is CardioCallanetics 3x.

CardioCallanetics done, both cardio & toning. Going to try to do both sections at least 2 of the 3 times per week. I always forget that the toning section is not as long as the full Evolution, so it's not so hard to do both.

Evening all, got in my session of Cardio & toning tonight. Aiming to do #2 for the week on Saturday. The Irish dance lessons were great fun and exhausting. You basically never stop moving, my knee and hips were not happy with me. I can only do this kind of thing once every 2 weeks. Thank heavens I found Callanetics or I would just be a lump on the sofa.

Geeze I really haven't done very well this week. Only one session so far. Tomorrow is Sunday and I finally get a day off work so I will definitely do the full Cardio program.

I am out of this one for now... I received my CardioCallanetics DVD in the mail and tried it for the first time today...I am so not here yet. No only can I not keep up with the Cardio part...I have absolutely no coordination. So I am going to put this one on the shelf for now until I have more stamina. Then I will focus on the feet and then the arms.

Lori
Oh, Lori -- don't despair! I am the queen of no coordination, and I have such a hard time following any kind of choreography. I think it's a brain thing. When I first got CardioCallanetics, I put it away for months because I was so klutzy (and it's not even very choreography-intensive, as cardio videos go).

What worked for me was to just do one section (or one move!) until I mastered it. Legs first, then arms. Sometimes I would have to put the DVD into super-slow-mo and just walk myself through a move, over and over, until I understood it and could do it at normal speed, and then I'd put it away. I'd move on to the next section another day. That way, I was building up my stamina as well as my coordination (and my confidence). It worked, and I'm doing it 3x a week. Love it. Now I look like this: Not tripping over my own feet, see?

Oh, I also banned anyone from the room while I'm doing it. That helped a lot. No witnesses to my undignified attempts...

First of three CardioCallanetics for the week done, cardio section only.

Awwwww thanks Cookie!

Did cardiocallan last night...felt pretty uncoordinated...I trip over my own feet in my everyday life... but got better as the time went on. Definitely felt it in my abs and upper thighs today.

Thanks CallanFan...I know it is not even "choreography-intensive, as cardio videos go"...thats the sad part..I am soooo uncoordinated. But I will start tackleing it eventually. I have a Kathy Ireland tape that I always liked for Cardio...Once I can do that and not be winded I will start with the Cardiocallanetics again. I was tired even doing the first few plies...
I have really let myself go...but that won't be the case in a few months I am getting stronger...

I am going to do what you suggested and master one move...legs...at a time and then arms. And yes I agree on the banning from the room...except for maybe the cat...

Have a great day.
Lori

Missed you desperately!!

I did my 30 minutes of Cardio Callanetics last night. Last week was a complete loss due to 5 holiday parties. Thank heavens that business is finished.

Anyway, had fun doing the Cardio...I put it on my iPod and just listened as I did it and used my big patio windows as a "mirror" to check my form. I always feel that my form is off but it really wasn't too terrible. AND looking at the "mirror" makes my posture better.

That is a good idea, I could clear some space around the window and use it as a "mirror".
Thanks.
