Straight away! Evolution is designed for beginners through to advanced. Every exercise is demonstrated in beginners position, intermediate and also advanced. So it's an 'all in one' program. You can also make it a quick workout to focus on extra abs, legs etc. YOu'll also find a chapter which focuses on the CallaneticsConcepts which you can then apply to your 10/10 or SuperC workouts. ![]() |

![]() As you guessed I do need to keep my cardio going on, even if toning muscles is my other goal. I'll try to do at least 12 hours this month...Hope not to skip any day! I'll keep up to good work and let you know about my results! |

This comes a couple of months too late, but: thanks for the replies to my pregnant-workout question. I lost that pregnancy very early on, but am pregnant again, and all seems well.
![]() I found what Sandra said about Callanetics and pregnancy, and it sounds like nothing I'd like to try without an instructor next to me. I wondered though, wouldn't the Cardio-part on Cardio callentics be okay to do? I am losing shape fast! Help! |

[COLOR=Blue]Comma, Congrats! ![]() First off how many weeks are you? Based on what happened with the last pregnancy, (i'm so sorry ) Its never easy to lose a pregnancy no matter how many weeks you are.I would take it easy on exercise until you pass that 3 month mark, then consult your Dr. about exercising safely while pregnant. maybe show him/her the book/DVD just to get an idea what Callanetics exercises are like. I had the same problem when I first started Evolution and it's still one of the exercises I find really hard. Sandra advised making sure you stretch up out of the standing leg and it helps a bit. With time your standing leg will get stronger and it'll be a little easier. I can do up to 20 counts now without stopping; in the beginning, I could bearly get through 5! ![]() |

Thanks, Siamesegirl! I am okay, just wished I hadn't tested so early.
![]() Now I am 6 weeks into it. I don't know about showing it to the doctor....Callan said to make him go on his back and DO the exercise, but fat chance.... ![]() |

I'm going to try to do 20 sessions again this month, alternating 10/10 and Evolution. I must admit that I have become so obsessed with Callanetics that I completely gave up on cardio last month and hardly got any done. I've ordered my Cardiocallanetics dvd and when I get it, I'll add it to my routine. I've cleaned up my act diet wise (went a bit haywire last month
) and so I'm looking forward to excellent results this month. I'm going to take a before picture today (not really before as I'm already 20 sessions in) and then take one at the end of this month to see how I've done. |

Hour two of ten in ten completed. I'm hoping to see some changes in areas other than my behind this month. Aiming for 16-18 hours in December. I'll also be ordering Evolution and possibly Cardio Callanetics.

Standing leg and low back
Quote:
Try adding a curl of your pubic bone up and in towards your navel and keep maximal stretch up through your spine and up off the supporting leg. Yes, you can keep the leg bent a little but just make sure that you don't collapse on it. Also, watch that your shoulder's don't move forward, keep them aligned over your hips. Your pelvic floor wants to remain super tight and, again, max length upwards. Think tall - always. Let me know how you go with this. ![]() |

I'm sorry to read that you have miscarried in the past but congratulations on becoming pregnant again ![]() But as you have miscarried before I definitely wouldn't recommend you doing any ab work. However, you can do everything else. I not sure what DVD you're working with but as you're belly starts to expand, and as long as you're still okay and able to workout, keep your legs in a wider stance for the standing leg exercises. Also, as you become bigger, no more of those exciting pelvic rotations or scoops. You can do them standing though if you wish. I can give you the set up for this if you like. Also, as your belly grows, no more up on toes for the leg exercises. Keep your feet flat on the floor. If you need anymore info just pm me. We can work together as your pregnancy progresses modify the exercises as needed. However, remember always to listen to your body. If something doesn't feel right stop. Also, tell your ob or Gyno that you are doing Callanetics. As far as abs are concerned. Try to get used to keeping your navel drawn in towards your spine - at all times to keep your muscles toned. Happy pulsing pregnancy ![]()

![]() This is a picture from the Beginning Callanetics DVD. You can see each person is doing it differently. The lady on the right is doing the pelvic rotation in a chair. She has lifted herself up on the arms of the chair and doing her rotations that way. Would that work for you?? Let us know how you get on. ![]() |

One hour of Evolution done! It is tough for me because my brain is working as hard as my muscles... "tuck, tighten, lift, lengthen". It would seem my muscle memory is slow to develop.
![]() I'll get there, someday. I'm rotating Evolution with 10 in 10. I'm going to try to do 15 hours this month, better catch up! ![]() Good luck sticking with it everybody, the holidays are upon us!!!!! ![]() |

I calculated my Callanetics schedule for December, and, in order to get in 15 hours, I'll have to work out 4x/week, which will put me at 17 workouts for the month... I'm assuming there will be one or two missed days. I'm also doing Couch to 5K on non-Callanetics days, so that means I'm planning to do *SOME* exercise every single day for the month!!!!
