Hello! This is the first time I've posted in here, but read some posts last week. I have had 10/10 for years and years and you guys have really got me motivated to pull it out tonight and start doing it every day. I need a place like this for encouragement and motivation, so thank you for letting me tag along with you! I'll keep you updated on how things are going for me! I plan on doing Callanetics at night and walk on the treadmill in the mornings (at 5:00 a.m., which is the only time I have to do it). I don't eat bad, it's just that I don't excercise and turning 35 is taking a toll on my body!!!

I look foward to talking with you all tomorrow!!!

My body has changed complety(sp) my thighs are longer, leaner, the saddlebags are gone, my butt is high and round. Sandra and others can tell you how much i changed once i began Super C. BWT, i only lost about 4-5lbs on WW.

Hi Nola, I understand how dishearting it is I am going to up my training, hopefully today. By that I mean, pause the DVD and try the advanced positions in Evolution.

Hope you can find the way of training for you. Keep these muscles guessing.

Today I looked at myself wearing running clothes, in a mirror we have at the end of the hall. My waist is looking quite cinched! In fact, that explains why, even though my jeans fit the same around the hips and tummy, I have room to slide my hand around the waist! My butt is looking rounder and more lifted than it ever was before...

I'm also feeling a difference in my tension levels. For years, I've had knots of muscle tension in my back, and they seem to be dissolving as I clock in more Callanetics hours. My husband says I'm standing taller.

I'm so glad I found this!

I am impressed!!! Thanks for sharing your photos, Noreen...
You achieved AMAZING results!
To be honest, I decided to buy 10/10 e Super C after seeing the photos in the "before/after "section: I hope Callanetics will work the same magic on me!
I'm off to my 7th hour of 10/10 for this month...

We are still without power. I am finding it difficult to exercise here at my parent's house! I like to do Callanetics when no one is home and I can concentrate. That is not possible here. I start and have to stop all the time, so yesterday I didn't even try they are saying we will be without power until Saturday now!!!

wow, fantastic Noreen! Waytago babeee!

I recently got AM/PM to do in times when I didn't have time, lol, and had been thinking of getting 10/10 eventually to alternate with evolution, but now I'm thinking maybe I'll just get super C instead - I've been doing evolution since late May and though I still consider myself a beginner (hehe, just ask Sandra about that!), since I do have a degree of strength from Evolution maybe I'd be capable of just getting Super C instead of 10/10. Thoughts anyone? Sandra, you've seen me, maybe you have an opinion about that one?

thanks!

By the way, to add to the inspiration, my saddlebags are way improved, I've been getting quite a few positive comments on my body from people who've not seen me for at least a few months (except my mother who thinks I'm now too skinny, lol!). Also, my voice teacher (who's also a feldenkrais teacher) was in town last month and noted that that my posture had improved. I told him that it was easier for me to sing because I'm better able to support my body and he agreed with that, so that's wonderful. I also feel a bit stronger in my upper body. All that and I still feel very much a beginner!

SADDLEBAGS ETC

Hi Elaine... Thanks

If I find keys to get things to work for me- I will certainly tell everyone!

Hi Noreen;

I am not meaning to be rude in any way..
But if I had your before photo; I would consider it to be truly miraculous.
You never had what I call a true saddlebag figure- where the body juts out strongly at that point.
I can see how your butt has got tighter and pulled in- but nonetheless,
even before that, I would never have considered you to have saddlebags at all.

I guess it is a matter of degree of what you are used to!
Because I have these large distinct saddlebags- particularly on one side- what you considered yourself to have is nothing to me!!

All the best
Nola

Well friends, I've only accomplished 1/2 hour of callanetics. I have though gone on a hike the last 3 Sundays in a row but unfortunately tripped this last time and i have a huge bruise on both my knee and my thigh.

I've been missing my stolen callanetics evolution dvd so much that I finally ordered a new one. I should get it just before christmas. I have the 10/10 book which is nice but there's nothing like having Sandra there with you. Its like having a friend in the room.

Noreen...thanks for the pics...I can't tell you how much before and after pics motivate me. I never get tired of them... You look fantastic...

Today I did Evolution again. I agree with jessiekayq that doing Evolution is like having a friend in the room with Sandra. Also when I read your posts now Sandra I hear your awesome accent....

Today was ten sessions of Callanetics completed. My eating has not been good because of the wisdom teeth removed...I ate a whole thing (1.5 Quarts) of Peppermint Stick Ice Cream in three days, immediately following surgery. I notice with me if I eat alot of sweets or white carbs I get really poofy...actually to be honest I think I look about 3-4 months pregnant in the belly.

With that said I think in spite of what I have been eating my stomach is not as poofy...I only look 2 months pregnant... and my flabby underarms are improved in my opinion.

So I am anxiously awaiting my one month mark and even more the end of January when all these tempting treats are gone...to measure and see how much I have improved.

I really do thank each of you that post on the board. It helps so much to be accountable to someone and also to read what you each go through which, encourages, teaches, and motivates.

Have a great day!

Lori

Lorimarie, Sunrise Lady, Sweettooth. Thank you so much for your kind words, it means a lot to me

I wish i could show more photos( in Sept my Macbook went belly up, the mother board was fried and the HD fried as well. I lost EVERYTHING, data,photos that i never bothered to back-up) that was taken right around the time that i started Callanetics, i have 1 photo of myself and family where you can CLEARLY see my saddlebags sticking out! Those photos that i have here don't fully show the transformation that my body has been through since starting Callanetics. When i had my 3rd and last child i was 180lbs, dropped down to about 142lbs but was not toned anywhere, i just looked ICKY. My weight now is much,much lower and i looked and feel AWESOME about myself! My results that you here are just from Callanetics, CardioCallanetics. Nothing else.

abs really hurt

My instructor told me that sometimes as you learn to engage the PF, you feel very crampy. I'm wondering if that's what's happening. I felt my abs all day and now I have a crampy feeling that's not hormonal.

I'm probably going to take a day of rest. I hate to do it, but I am trying to respect my body.

I will go Wed. and Thurs. so I can still get 4 times in this week (my week starts on Monday).

Has anyone else experienced this?

What's the difference between callanetics and super?

BTW Noreen, nice bum!

I've taken about 30 hours of classes now. I just started feeling my abs earlier this week, or late last week. Yay.

Curious about supercallanetics...

Ellenalesa...I asked the same question. See Twyla's answer to me below in red.

As for the difference between Super C and 10 in 10, it's basically more reps and a few additional exercises than 10 in 10, both of which make if far more challenging than 10 in 10. I moved from 10 in 10 to Super when I had put in 60 some hours of 10 in 10.

saddlebags etc

Hi Noreen

Please dont be sorry- you didnt say anything wrong- I dont want to negate or depreciate what you have said - and I do appreciate you and everyone else trying to help.

However I have just got to the stage where I dont feel that doing the exercises longer, harder or with better form , is going to make the critical difference with me.

I still think the key to the kind of saddlebags I have must lie in this;
Physio-Dynamics -
They are talking about the femur being out of the socket- creating an extra width in that area; and then fat accumulating around this inactive area.

It makes total sense when I consider my figure- where it seems to jut out in that area- almost in a structural fashion.

Also tightening and toning the area with whatever exercise I have tried; Aerobics, Weight-training, T-tapp, Callanetics - results in no reduction in size- and no real improvement in look- the saddlebag area still jutts out just as much; in fact firm high saddlebags probably stick out more than soft saggy ones!

Losing weight results in some reduction in size; but only at the point where I have lost nearly all body-fat; and am thinner than I can healthily maintain.

However -
the solution to this problem as suggested on this link ;
tucking butt, squeezing etc.., and the exercises suggested;

I have done all these things as hard and as well as I can- to the nth degree;
first with T-tapp , for 2.5 yrs ; then with Callanetics ,13 mths ; and also by following the instructions and exercises on this page (which are basically very similar to both T-tapp and Callanetics).

I also taught myself to tuck butt while walking and running,
and now I have taught myself to activate the pelvic floor while walking;
and also to tuck butt and activate pelvic floor while walking..

None of these things has resulted in any improvement of saddlebags- except maybe to harden and lift them a bit.

I am not saying these things to be negative;
but that is just the way it is;
I am still searching for a solution;
while endeavouring to try and bring the femur back into the socket (presuming that is the problem);
by doing all of the above stuff(because it is the only thing I know- although it has not worked as yet);
tucking butt , sqeezing, Callanetics exercises, etc..

In one part of me I feel there must be a solution; I dont feel it should be the bodies natural structure to look like this- it spoils the natural line of the figure..
However at times I feel quite demoralized- and that there is no hope .

All the best
Nola
