Kimcox, I am so jealous of your avatar!

I used a bar stool for the leg and hips and a sofa for the stretches of the legs. I have poles to do the leg excercises, I guess they hold the house up or something.

But you can actually take anything....

back

Hi everyone. I posted a couple of times back in April (I think) and fell off the wagon. I got intrigued by Leslie Sansone and bought several of her dvds...I like them but I can never keep consistent. I've got so many exercise dvds, thinking that a particular one will be the magic bullet.

But I was thinking about LCF and this board and skimmed through the May and June posts and got inspired again! So, for July I've done 2 sessions of 10/10. Some parts are such a struggle, like the stomach and hip/behind exercises. By the time the 3rd stomach exercise comes round, I'm nearly crying (well, whining more like!)

But these exercises are so interesting. I have the Lotte Berk, Bar Method and Squeeze dvds, (which are similar in style) but the Callanetics is the only one I have patience for, and are simple enough to do. I might graduate to the others eventually, but I'll keep on with Callan for now!

OMG Noreen! For you to get such results in such a short amount of time. That does it between the results you and Twyla have gotten I'm going to go for it. Is Callanetics all you do? I know from reading Twyla's posts and her journal she is one busy woman with all of her exercises - maybe one day...

Please keep posting your results you are a great inspiration!

Wow Noreen, not only the butt, but look at that waist and those skinny arms! Fantastic!

I got another one done...love it. I think I did quite a few more than 13 so far, but I don't know, so start counting low.

This gets to be a fixed part of my go-to-bed routine....

What does a strong PF feel like?

For those of you who know you have a strong PF, what does it feel like? I ask because, when I do Evolution, and I am told to keep the PF tight throughout the exercise, I can feel myself engaging it in the beginning and then the rest of the time during the exercise I keep asking myself if it is engaged and I cannot tell. Once the PF is really strong, do you know for sure that it is engaged all the time or is it always more a subtle, mental thing? Does it ever feel remotely comparable to flexing, say, your bicep?

Some of y'all talked about doing the workouts without the video... I do, but not because I am so good at it... the opposite! I find that my pacing is always so different that I get distracted by the video when it gets ahead of me. It usually takes me over an hour to complete... I'll be glad when I have evolution memorized... I'm wearing out my pause button!

HAHAHAHAHA Love the Callan quotes! I especially enjoy the "You go at your own pace...your like wax, melting into the ground

I have done the workout a few times without the tape when I was away from home. I agree with you LowCarbRachel. I usually fast-forward over the leg on the barre exercises and do them without the tape. Then I go right back to the tape for the hips and behind. I do love Callan's voice and expressions even though the directions get tiresome after hearing them enough times.

Got another hour of 10/10 done and #2 for July

wow, noreen -- great butt. i'd say your peach is ripe.

i know you've been doing callanetics for awhile now, so to what do you attribute the really amazing results in the last few months? is it the switch to super? engaging the pelvic floor? training to be a trainer? tell us the secret of the amazing peach, oh peach goddess

really, really inspiring, noreen. it'll look great on your website.

My Callanetics before & after photos

These changes that you see are from engaging the pelvic floor and doing it correctly! My body changed sooo fast when i started doing it. For now its just Callanetics Super C and now i've started Callanetics Evolution again. This photo is already up on my website.

PrincessNutznBoltz: go back on this thread page by page and look for Sandra's posts - she talks a lot about the PF and she even wrote out a guided thingy for finding and engaging them. So...how is IR different from SB?

Noreen: Holy peach!!! You look fabulous!!! Of course, I think your before bum looks fine too! I've been trying to engage the PF more now that I'm up to 9 hours and getting the moves down...your bum will be a major inspiration to me, LOL.

Ahh - I thought she said "round, like you're on the moon!" Thought it didn't make much sense!

Noreen - nice bum! Look like it's about three inches higher!

Sandra and Ben - thanks so much for your tips for the abs exercises (about the pelvis/lower back) at the end of last month. My pooch is quickly disappering!!!

Happy Fourth of July to all our Callan-Addicts!

I will be due my next session tomorrow. I've enjoyed reading all the progress reports, funny quotes (I remember!), and enthusiasm that's everpresent on this challenge. Good work, everybody!

(Connie, thank you. It was wonderful.)

As a side note, when I began with 10 in 10, the chatter in between segments grew old, so I'd always fast-forward through it. Once memorized, you can do the workout w/o the DVD/Vhs, but I prefer having that visual counter so I don't have to focus on counting and can focus on form, engagement, etc. I guess I don't multitask as well during workouts.
