Hour 9/12 of 10/10 for July. W1D3-100PUC done.
Incidentally, it was also the 30th hour so I took measurements. I have been feeling so happy with how my figure has been changing so I was excited. *sighs* Only 1 1/2" total down since 20 hours. I know, every little bit helps, and I have had tremendous success so far, but since I haven't been seeing pounds drop off, I really wanted the measurements to have changed. Oh well, I will just worry about it again in about 10 hours! *shrugs*-Di Update: Sorry, messed up the math. Actual numbers were 2 1/2" inches. Still less than I had hoped.

Hello Ladies,
Just wondering, which tape is the best in the Callanetics series? For a beginner I mean? I just purchased the Beginning Callanetics and Quick Callanetics Hips & Butt. Would you recommend doing both tapes in one day or maybe switching off one day beginning the next day hips & butt? Also, how often do you recommend doing the workout? |

Sanya, I started with 10/10. Now I have added the Quick Callanetics to the mix. I was getting bored but now I can rotate the CD's. I also feel like the QC is harder for me or maybe I'm just able to stay more focused for a shorter period of time.

First of all, good job on the lossed inches...I think those are great results*. Secondly, looking at your stats, you're only 10 lbs from goal. Losing body fat when we're 10 lbs or less from goal is far more difficult than when we have more weight to lose*. That's a fact. Second, I see that you're calorie counting. Have you tried switching it up once a week to one higher day of cals, say, 250-350 more than your average deficit, some even go as high as 500 more, then resume your deficit and exercise -- business as usual -- for the rest of the week. Calorie zig-zagging has been shown to be one of the most effective fat burning strategies going. Keep that in mind, chin up, and keep up the great work. ![]() Sweets, Glad you'll be joining us. Good advice from Rachel.

Noreen, we know you're busy, but the newer challengers here need you, girl. When you have time, your input on specific questions could be invaluable to their progress....so just know you're appreciated.

LCRachel, I feel the same way. My stomach was so sore yesterday I took a Motrin....
Maybe it just took the muscles a bit to spruce up to the point where they are really working or something? Kelly, only my inner thigh is flexed when I do that one. But I think I remember CP saying that at first, the entire leg is involved until the inner thigh can do its job. You can try not using the arch, but teh heel, as in Super c. I think that's easier. |

Kelley, re the inner thigh squeeze, I like to focus on solely the adductors doing the work. I'm sure other muscles get targeted a bit as well, but I just think in my mind: inner thighs, inner thighs -- as simplistic as that sounds....
... and it's like there's naturally more engagement of that muscle group when I do it.I'm scheduling my Callan for M, W and F again this week. I'm glad it's not today. My Saturdays are a very heavy workout day (comprehensive -- weights, lots of cardio, abs), and I know my body would appreciate some rest today. Today will either be no workouts at all or just a bit of s/s cardio. Hope everyone has a great day. Last edited by WATCH-ME-SHRINK : 07-27-2008 at 05:43 AM. |

Thanks Comma and Twyla, I did use more of my heel rather than my arch and it helped a bit. I will incorporate Twyla's little chant and hopefully that will fix my fixation on tightening the whole leg and bum.
![]() I moved it up to 5 days a week this week and I definitely feel smoother (not so lumpy) especially around the hip/bum/upper thigh area. I was going to try and do it Mon-Fri, but by Wed I was wiped out so I took Wed off and did it Thurs/Fri/Sat. That break in the middle definitely helped. I felt much stronger on Thurs. Have a wonderful Sunday!
